109 Ch. 109 Anxia Seek Forgiveness
(Back to early in the morning)
âXia Xia, canât you forget the past? Michelle is my sister-in-law, which means she is also your family.â
Anxia tried to get up from her husbandâs lap, but Richard held her so she couldnât escape his husbandâs grip. âRichard, if someone hurt your mother and you found the culprit, would you just let it go?â
âOf course not. But you know well that Michelle wasnât the culprit. It was...â
âAre you going to forget that?â Anxia cut in without giving Richard a chance to continue his words. âWhat if you knew someone was going to hurt Harmonie or Raymond? Would you keep quiet?â
â...â Richard was silent for a few moments listening to his wifeâs questions. âXia Xia, what do you want to say?â
âWhat if Michelle plans to hurt Lori?â
âQiao Anxia. Michelle is not you; she wouldnât be vengeful and hurt a child.â
Pang! Somehow Anxia felt a dagger stab her chest upon hearing Richard compare her to Michelle. Not to mention, Richard stated that Michelle was a far better woman than she was. Relying on her raging emotions, she broke free from her husbandâs embrace with all her might.
.....
âWhy are you defending her? If you like her so much, why donât you just marry her?â
âQiao Anxia, ??youâve gone too far. She is my brotherâs wife; how can I marry her?â
âSo youâd marry her if she wasnât your brotherâs wife?!â Anxia exploded, making Richard massage his forehead in frustration.
âIâm tired. We should stop this conversation.â Richard did not want to quarrel and chose to step aside rather than add oil to the flame. His wifeâs common sense was not on the right path, and he was not in the mood to coax her.

It had been hours since the morning fight, yet Richard still had yet to show up, even during lunch.
âMommy, where is daddy? Why doesnât he come to eat with us?â
âHe might be busy. Be a good girl and finish your lunch.â
Anxia seemed to smile as she talked to her daughter, but actually, she felt lost. Was he so furious at her that he no longer wanted to see her?
What if he hates her now? Anxia was scared that her husbandâs gentle and somewhat childish demeanor would change. She didnât know why, but she was terrified that he would have a change of heart.
Anxia laughed sarcastically to herself.
She recalled she had tried her best to make Richard hate her last week with the purpose of making him kick her out of this island. But now she became afraid of being kicked out of this place.
She didnât mind leaving this island, but she didnât want to part with Richard, making her more helpless.
Anxia knew Richard loved his family, especially his brother, and she knew Richard expected Anxia to forget her grudge against Michele. But... can she do it? She had to do it if she wanted to stay here with her newfound family.
She never expected that fighting with Richard would make a big hole in her heart and be more terrifying than she had to forget the past.
She had never expected to feel much more agitated when listening to Richard defend another girl than her.
Anxia took a deep breath without knowing her daughter observed her every expression. Lori gently patted her motherâs shoulder as if to say she would always be with her.
The child could sometimes understand her anxiety and cheer her up in her own way. Anxia once wondered about the position between the two of them, which was the mother, and which was the daughter.
Sometimes, Anxia would act like a child confiding in Lori, while the child silently listened to her complaints while occasionally patting the back of her hand.
Lori didnât give any advice because her knowledge to find solutions to the problems she was experiencing was still very minimal. But Lori sat sweetly on her lap and didnât interrupt her laments. The little girl listened to all her complaints without getting bored and was by her side.
Maybe thatâs why Anxia felt more comfortable with her daughter, and she could open up more and be herself when alone with her daughter. Thatâs why Anxia doesnât want to separate from Lori because Lori is her oasis amid her anxiety to anticipate the threat of danger.
Even now, Anxia didnât feel shy or embarrassed about telling her daughter what was bothering her.
âLori, what should I do? I made your daddy angry.â
âThen you just need to apologize to him.â
âYou think heâll forgive me?â
âOf course.â
âHow do you know?â asked Anxia while combing her daughterâs blonde hair with her fingers.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âWill you not forgive me if I apologize?â
âOf course, I will forgive you. Before you even apologized, I already forgave you.â
Lori smiled broadly at her motherâs answer. âDaddy must have forgiven you too. You need to find him and make up with him.â
Anxia felt dumbfounded hearing the innocent reply escaping her daughterâs petite lips. The answer was straightforward, but it gave Anxia the courage to look for Richard.
âDo you mind waiting here so I can find your daddy?â
âEn. I will wait for you here.â
Lori had many coloring books to color in, and this room was a safe place where no one would kidnap her daughter. But Anxia still felt uneasy if she left her daughter alone here. In the end, she decided to call Calydta so she could accompany her daughter for a while.
After Calydta came to accompany Lori, Anxia came to look for Richard. She forgot her husbandâs request, telling her not to leave the room for the next few days. And what Richard was afraid of finally happened.
Anxia ran into Lady Q as Anxia passed through the main corridor to Richardâs working room. To make matters worse, the lady assumed Anxia was a maid and ordered her as she pleased, making Anxia feel irritated again and forget her purpose of leaving the room.
