“Richard, instead of expecting something impossible, why don’t you give her what she wants? Wouldn’t that be easier?”

“Did the culprit ask for something?” asked Sheylie in worry. “Did she ask for ransom?”

“Who knows?”

If Quinn did ask for ransom, Anxia was sure Richard would immediately issue whatever amount Quinn wanted. That man could afford to spend money on her, so he wouldn’t hesitate to shell out a fantastic amount of money to make up for his daughter’s safety.

Only, Anxia knew very well that what Quinn wanted wasn’t ransom. After all, why would someone as wealthy as Quinn Heinest want money?

“Really, who is the perpetrator who has poisoned this poor child? How tough is that person?”

Richard still didn’t answer, as if his whole brain had suddenly turned off to the point where he couldn’t even think anymore.

Richard walked out and immediately contacted Diego without knowing that Anxia was secretly following him.

“Diego, I need your help. Can you find Kirena?”

“Quinn gave my son poison.”

The accusation that came from Anxia’s mouth made Richard’s heart stab.

“Of course, Lori’s existence is very important to me. I would do anything to make her happy, but not this one. I won’t give it, not to Quinn or anyone else.”

Anxia snorted sarcastically at that. “I’m really disappointed. I thought you were the perfect father to Lori, but I guess I was wrong.”

“Xia Xia,”

“Don’t call me that. Hearing you call me by a nickname like that disgusts me.”

Anxia walked back inside without caring about her husband’s hurt expression. Richard felt a dilemma with his decision. Should he tell his wife the truth? But what if his wife doesn’t react and tells him to give it?

His heart would be broken, and if he complied with his wife’s request, he would feel his soul was broken, and he would never be able to escape his broken heart.

“Xia Xia, you have no idea what she wants from me. She wanted a child with me. If you find out, are you still going to tell me to give it?”

Anxia heard her phone beep, indicating an incoming message. She felt reluctant to pick up her phone, but instinct told her that the incoming message was important.
