Richard immediately traced the position of the number that had contacted him.

“Ah, one more thing. Don’t bother looking for me. I can send you my home address right away.” As if reading Richard’s movements, Quinn continued her sentence. “The antidote isn’t here, but somewhere else. I’ll have my men bring it here as soon as we’re done. Do we have a deal now?”

Richard wanted to slam the computer on his desk. This time he let his guard down. He was careless and regretted not taking better care of his daughter.

He was overconfident, thinking he could adequately protect his family while they were on the island of Hallstatt. But he completely underestimated Quinn, an enemy from within, so now his daughter had to bear the consequences.

“You know I won’t do it. I am married, and I will never betray my wife.”

“I told you you can’t fool me. You’re still-”

“That’s because my father sealed it.” cut in Richard impatiently. “If you look at it one more time, you will find our names in the records.”

“What’s the point now? I have poisoned your daughter and made you hate me. Even if you’re already married, I don’t care. I still want a child from you.”

“I’d rather die.”

“No, Richie. You won’t die, but your daughter will. Are you sure you want to see your daughter die? I don’t understand why you don’t want to give me a child but give it to a random girl. I’m curious about your wife. Is she prettier than me? She is, doesn’t she, considering you have a beautiful daughter.”

Richard’s breath was getting faster because of the anger that was so great that he had never felt before. Just as he was about to slam his phone against the wall, he saw a notification from one of his digital programs.

He saw a red dot in a place he believed was the house Quinn was currently living in. Where did it come from?

Nonetheless, he decided to make his way to the daughter and wife’s room without hanging up the call, and he wasn’t too surprised not to find his wife there.

‘Xia Xia, what are you doing?’

“Richie, we don’t have to do this, you know. You’re worried your wife will get hurt because her husband fuck another woman behind her back. In fact, you don’t have to do it. You only need to give your sperm to me, and I will send the hospital address and my trusted doctor, who will take care of it. As soon as the sperm collection process is complete, I will send you the antidote. What do you think? Wouldn’t my offer be better?”

“You will regret this.”

There was a crisp laugh from the other side. “No. I won’t regret it. I will be waiting for good news from you.”

Richard scoffed in annoyance, then walked towards Sheylie’s room, who had fallen asleep without being able to be woken up even though he tried to wake her up. Could it be Anxia putting sleeping pills in Sheylie’s food? That woman, why didn’t she give him a chance to solve this problem and act alone?

In the end, Richard held his daughter carefully as he could not rely on the sleeping Sheylie to protect his daughter.

“Daddy?” As usual, the girl woke up at the slightest movement making Richard feel guilty.

“Shh, go back to sleep. I’ll take you away.”

“Go where?”

“Pick up your mother.”

“Is mommy going somewhere?”

“I’m afraid so. Go back to sleep, little one. I promise we will be by your side when you wake up. Hm?”

“En.” Lori complied and leaned her head on her father’s shoulder.

Richard activates the program machine that controls the advanced car from Hallstatt island. He felt more at ease when Lori slept in the car because M, the advanced digital assistant, would ensure Lori’s safety and move on her own according to his orders. That way, Richard could focus on picking up his wife.

As Richard feared, Anxia decided to act alone right after she received a secret encrypted message this afternoon. She still felt angry at Richard because the man would not give Quinn what she wanted to save their daughter. She was disappointed that Richard didn’t love Lori as much as she loved the girl.

Having such a man as her husband, Anxia regretted putting her trust in him, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.

The secret encryption showed Quinn’s current location, which confused Anxia and made her wonder if that lady followed them all the way to Paris.

She should be wary and tracked the encryption sender, but she didn’t care about it. As long as there was a way to save her daughter, Anxia would not doubt the mysterious sender.

As soon as she arrived at a specific building, Anxia jumped through the window after window and arrived at the floor where Quinn’s house was.

She managed to sneak in through the unlocked window and decided to catch Quinn first.

It was then that she overheard a conversation between two people... more precisely, one person talking to someone via phone on another side with a loudspeaker mode.

“The antidote isn’t here, but somewhere else. I’ll have my men bring it here as soon as we’re done. Do we have a deal now?”

Anxia’s brow furrowed at this. It seemed she would have to torture the lady to tell her the location of the antidote.

Ha? What’s that got to do with her? Anxia wondered in confusion.

What the heck!? Anxia screamed in her mind in disbelief.

So... is that why Richard was reluctant and so unwilling to give it to Quinn?
