180 Ch. 180 Richardâs Restlessness
Anxia was already astonished by her husbandâs strange behavior, and it was unusual for the man to look uncomfortable like this, as if Richard had done something wrong. She tried to remember what had made her husband uneasy, and she realized that Richard was starting to turn uncomfortable when he heard about the invitation.
However, Raymond and Harmonie behaved normally and had no problem accepting an invitation from one of their mother-in-lawâs stepbrothers, which further confused Anxia.
Then she heard the name âAndrewâ in the middle of their conversation, and strangely, it sounded familiar.
âDo you still not want to meet Quinn?â
Thatâs when the image of the memory she had forgotten just surfaced in her head.
Andrew Heinest.
Anxia recalled Richard asking Andrew for help when Quinn took their daughter away and poisoned her baby. If Andrew was Quinnâs older brother and Leo was Andrewâs father, that meansâ¦
They will attend the house where they will meet Quinn again?!
Suddenly, Anxiaâs grip on the cup of tea she was about to drink let go, and now the cup fell and spilled all its contents.
.....
Instantly, Anxia stood up, followed by Harmonie, as the contents of Anxiaâs cup wet the table and spread to the end before falling onto their bottom.
âAnxia, ??are you okay?â Harmonie immediately helped Anxia wipe the table where Anxiaâs cup had spilled contents with a tissue. At the same time, Michele immediately shifted Loriâs chair back swiftly so as not to get Anxiaâs drink spilled.
Anxiaâs drink wasnât dangerous, but it was hot tea that would hurt little Loriâs soft skin. Thatâs why Michele immediately stood up to save Lori when she discovered that Anxia accidentally dropped her teacup.
âLori, Iâm sorry. Are you hurt?â Anxia squatted down to investigate her daughterâs condition and could only breathe a sigh of relief when she didnât see any traces of hot tea splashed on her daughterâs clothes.
Anxia glanced at Michele and looked at her gratefully. If Michelle had not helped her drag Loriâs chair back, Anxia couldnât imagine what would have happened to her daughter.
In the next second, Anxia felt someone standing behind herâthat person grasped her hand and pulled her to rise to her feet.
âIâm sorry, mom. But we will have to pass this time. I promise Iâll visit him next time in person.â After saying his statement, Richard turned to his sister. âCould you babysit Lori for a bit?â
Harmonie smiled at her as she agreed to her brotherâs request. Then Richard took his wife out of the dining room, to the astonishment of all his family members.
âDid something happen? Why doesnât Richie seem very fond of my brother?â Meisya asked her husband with a confused look.
âI guess what he doesnât like is your niece.â
âQuinny? Whatâs wrong with her? She is a sweet and understanding girl. I donât understand why people donât like that girl.â
âThatâs right. Quinn is a kind and sweet girl. Well, sometimes she does act a bit selfish, though. But she is a good girl.â added Raymond making Harmonie roll her eyes lazily.
Of course, Meisya and Raymond viewed Quinn as a sweet and kind girl. Only Harmonie knew what Quinn Heinest was likeâprideful, arrogant, and believed everything belonged to her.
The girl loved to seek attention from Harmonieâs brothers, even kicking her out indirectly to monopolize her two older siblings. Luckily, Moni had mature thoughts compared to teenagers her age, so she didnât complain or whine about taking back her two older brothers. But still, she hated Quinn to the bone.
Quinnâs motherâMadeline Heinest, was no better than her daughter. The old lady always liked comparing her daughter to Harmonie and ridicules her indirectly at every chance.
Lady Heinest preferred to boast of her two children and speak ill of other peopleâs children. Meisya was often patient, but when Madeline had overstepped her bounds, Meisya was always ready to defend her kids without hesitation.
If Leonard, Meisyaâs dearest brother, had not fallen in love with Madeline and married her, maybe Meisya would not have wanted to be friends or be friendly with that woman.
But Meisyaâs dislike changed when Madeline often left Quinn in her place. Quinnâs attitude was sweet and obedient, making Meisya immediately love her like her other children. Meisya, who likes to think positively toward others, was not at all suspicious of Madelineâs true intention: to leave her daughter in her place.
Quinn had already told her mother that she wanted to have a very handsome husband when she grew up; she decided no one could outmatch the handsomeness of Meisyaâs sons.
Thatâs why Madeline often brought Quinn to Meisyaâs residence to bring her daughter closer to Meisyaâs children and started to be friendly and nice.
The plan worked. Meisya was no longer hostile toward Madeline, and Quinn managed to win her heart. Even her two older siblings seemed to prefer spending their playing time with Quinn compared to Harmonieâtheir young sister.
Thatâs why Harmonie gave up and let Quinn monopolize her two older siblings. After all, when the teenager returns to her house, Moni will get the attention of her two older brothers again.
On the other hand, Stanley did not like the closeness between Meisya and Leonard Heinest from the start. Not only Leonard, he still couldnât forget Dieter HeinestâMeisyaâs oldest stepbrotherâs action of kissing Meisya to make him jealous. Although Stanley disliked all members of the Heinest royal family, he never forbade his wife from visiting them.
Since Meisya was born into this world, Stanley knew Dieter and Leo had accompanied her to play and provided knowledge about the outside world. Even though Meisya was not related by blood to the two men, Meisya considered Leonard and Dieter to be her older brothers.
Likewise, the two men treasured Meisya like their little sister.
Stanley understood Harmonie had little interest in meeting Madeline and Quinn. He knew Quinn always snatched her toys and tried to make a bridge between Moni and her two older brothers whenever Quinn visited their house.
But he didnât understand why Richard looked displeased at attending Leonardâs invitation. At first, he thought Richard would turn it down because he wanted to avoid wearing formal clothes and meeting a lot of people. When Anxia accidentally dropped her cup, Stanleyâs intelligent brain immediately guessed.
His sonâs discomfort was apparently related to his daughter-in-law and Quinny Heinest.
Had something ever happened between Qiao Anxia and Quinn?
