Currently, the only people who could move Elliot’s heart were Richard, Anxia, ??Lori, Mei Yin, and Jamie. This was the first time Elliot had met Stanley-Meisya, and Elliot had fortified himself to avoid them.

Elliot still didn’t budge from his spot―he wanted to refuse but didn’t want to anger his father. He could have acted and been a good boy to please this old lady, but Anxia had made him promise not to pretend anymore.

Richard and Anxia looked at each other, which only they understood. At the same time, Lori, who knew nothing and was insensitive to the tense atmosphere between them, immediately grabbed Elliot’s hand and made her brother’s hand touch the grandmother’s warm skin.
