97 Ch. 97 Quinn Heinest
A fairy-like blonde hair lady mounted off a helicopter on the helipad in Hallstatt Island.
âGood afternoon, my lady. Did you have a nice trip?â
âVery pleasant. Is he still here?â
âHe is, my lady.â
Without further ado, the blonde girl walked into the palace, through the corridor she had memorized, and straight into Richardâs favorite study room without knocking first.
The girl glanced around the room for Richard but found no one. Then she walked over to his desk because she wanted to see what Richard was doing on his computer.
As the girl walked over to Richardâs desk, Richardâs computer screen, filled initially with files of Richardâs investigations, suddenly disappeared as if the computer had a brain.
Everything happened so fast that the computer monitor screen turned dark black.
By the time the lady arrived at Richardâs desk, she had found nothing, for the three monitors were dead.
.....
âElaine, I know youâre monitoring me. Did you turn it off? How impolite. Have you forgotten who I am? I am your masterâs fiancé.â
â...â
Lady Q glanced in all directions until her eyes found a hidden camera at one end of the room. She walked and faced the camera as if the black camera was her interlocutor.
âI will be your master. Answer me this instant!â
âMy master and only master is Master Richard.â a voice came from the speaker box near the window.
âHow dare you! I will destroy you once I become his wife.â
âWhat are you doing here?â
Lady Q gasped as she didnât expect to hear a cello-like hoarse voice from behind her. She turned around and changed her expression. Her voice became sweeter as if she wasnât angry at the last moment.
âRichie!â the pretentious lady dashed toward Richard, but the man stepped back every time she moved forward.
âWhy are you avoiding me? Donât you miss me? Your most beloved cousin?â
Richard sighed softly and then answered her question in a lazy tone. âI didnât expect you to be here.â
âAw, why are you so mean to me? If Raymond were here, he wouldnât be indifferent to me. I remember you were sweet to me and complied with every request I made. Why the change of heart?â
Richard raised an eyebrow and looked at the lady as if he was looking at an insane person. How dare she ask the reason he changed? It was precise because she had asked the craziest, most absurd favor from him two years ago that Richard decided to cut ties with her.
Not that he could cut ties totally, considering the ladyâs father was his motherâs elder brother. But Richard blocked all calls from the lady and never replied to her emails.
âRichie, are you still mad at me?â asked the lady with an abandoned child, playing the victim as if Richard was the one who hurt her.
Richard preferred not to answer and turned around to get some fresh air after he got the report that the woman before him found nothing on his computer.
He had to find a way to get his cousin off the island as soon as possible. Only God knew what this woman would do once he met Anxia. Not that he worried about Anxia, but he feared what the woman said to his wife would worsen everything.
His relationship with Anxia had improved, and his wife had opened her heart to him. It was hard to melt her hard rock-like heart to the point he was helpless and almost giving up. He wouldnât let anything or anyone destroy it, bringing him back to the starting point.
If the lady insisted on staying on this island, like it or not, Richard had to bring his wife and Lori from this island. At least, his worry about Anxia trying to escape from his embrace lessen, considering Anxiaâs nature softens toward him. Nevertheless, he still couldnât trust Anxia completely and was afraid that she would leave him immediately as soon as she got the chance.
Richard was reluctant to leave the island as it was the only place that could restrain Anxia and block out any escape route. He was in a dilemma and could only hope that his cousin would leave instead.
âRichie, I met this extraordinary little girl when I came here a few days ago. Whose daughter is she?â
âMy wifeâs.â was his straightforward answer.
Lady Q laughed crisply at his blatant answer. âDo not lie to me. I know youâre not married yet.â
âBut I am.â
âYou have no ring, and I found nothing about your marriage registrations anywhere. Your status in the government is still single.â
Tsk! Itâs all his fatherâs fault! Blamed Richard.
If it werenât for Stanley concealing and delaying their marriage registration, his status would be different.
On the other hand, regarding the ring...
Richard just remembered that he needed a ring to prove his marriage!
Good grief! How could he forget something as important as this? He could only blame no one but himself.
âSo you came here just to make sure?â
âNot really. Iâm curious and wish to see what your imaginary wife looks like. Is she beautiful? Is she prettier than me? Of course, she is, isnât she, considering how angelic her daughter was. Speak of the girl, where is she? Iâd like to see her again.â
âWhat for?â
âWhat for? Of course, to be friends with her. You know I love kids.â
Richard glanced cynically at his cousin, then snorted in disgust as he looked up at the sky.
Of course, he knew his cousin loved children. He knew it more than anyone, to the point he wished he never knew about it. Richard also knew the lady had her taste regarding the kids. If the kid were not good-looking or brainless and annoying, his cousin would ignore them. She only loved attractive, well-mannered kids and would do anything for them.
Luckily, Lori has a unique beauty with two stunningly different eye colors. Richard didnât have to worry that this cousin of his would harm his daughter.
What he was worried about was when the lady found out that Lori was his biological daughter, especially when she saw with her own eyes what the mother of her biological child looked like.
For Richard, Anxia was the most captivating, sexiest, and most beautiful creature in this world. He loved her so much that his eyes could no longer glance at other women.
Another case for his cousin. He was confident that Quinn Reonald Heinest would find Anxiaâs beauty below her and created a plan to make Anxia leave him on her own, as she always did every time a girl tried to approach Richard.
He couldnât let that happen. Thus, Richard temporarily hides Anxia from Quinnâs probing gazes.
âSo? Can I meet them?â
âI canât allow that.â
âWhat petty guy. Are you really my cousin?â
âYou know perfectly well weâre not related by blood at all.â
âHmm. So youâre admitting weâre not related by blood?â there was a voice of interest in Quinnâs tone of asking.
He remembered when Quinn had tried to get close to Richard and Raymond and had openly stated her desire to marry one of them. Both men had always rejected her for the same reasons.
âWe are cousins, and a brother canât marry his sister.â
That is the reason often given by the pair of twins to her.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
But now, Richard admitted that they had no blood relation, meaning they could marry if willing.
Quinn put on a subtle slanted smile, then shifted position and stood facing Richard.
Quinn was a descendant of the Heinest royal family, and she inherited more genes from her father, so her figure was almost as tall as Richardâs. However, her height was expected, as the average size of a female member of the Heinest and Tettero families was between one hundred and seventy and one hundred and seventy-five centimeters.
But she still wasnât as tall as Richard, considering he was over a hundred and eighty. So it wasnât hard to pull Richardâs head lightly only to plant a kiss on his lips, shocking Richard half to death.
Richard grabbed Quinnâs shoulders and pushed her as if he brushed some dirt on his shirt.
âWHAT ARE YOU DOING!?â Richardâs roaring voice stunned Quinn.
As far as she could remember, Richard had never snapped at her, no matter how angry he was with her.
Quinn made a sullen face, and her eyes were moistened and filled with disappointed tears.
âRichie, why do you give me the cold shoulder? You are no different from those guys who belittled me.â
If it were before âthatâ happened two years ago, Richard would have been fooled by those tears and comforted the girl like a brother would do his heartbreaking sister. Moreover, they grew up together, so a growing affection between them was unavoidable. Not to mention, Richard had once thought to woo her if only Quinn werenât his motherâs brotherâs daughter.
As a result, Richard viewed Quinn as a second sister after Harmony and nothing more.
However, since the incident two years ago...
Donât expect that girl to fool him with tears!
