When he heard that, Aaron's expression twisted maliciously. "They've only trained with me for a couple of days. Technically, they can't even be considered my apprentices. You can't really be so gullible as to think that you'd be able to defeat me just because you killed them, can you?"

Matthew frowned. "They only trained with you for a couple of days?"

He could tell that the two men he'd just defeated were highly skilled. Their

strength and speed were far better than the average person.

"If they'd only trained with him for a handful of days, there was no question that Aaron was an expert. Matthew was on high alert now.

Aaron noticed the look of surprise on Matthew's face. "Scared now? Well, it's too late. But don't worry, I won't kill you so easily. It's been a long time since I last had a proper fight. I sure hope you don't die so soon so that I can get some practice."

With that, he crouched down low before leaping forward at Matthew. He drew near to Matthew's feet in an instant and wrapped his arms around Matthew's legs.

He executed his move as quick as a flash and so unexpectedly. Now that he'd gotten a hold of Matthew's legs, all it'd take for Aaron to take Matthew out was to throw Matthew off his balance and slam him to the ground.

Aaron smiled. One move was all it'd take. Then he would pummel Matthew up to his heart's content.

All of a sudden, the smile on his face froze. All he saw was a knee getting nearer and nearer yet before darkness suddenly came over him.

A muffled sound was heard as the knee made direct impact with his face. Aaron felt like a rock had just hit his head, and he slowly slumped to the ground.

The room fell silent once more. Julian was shocked to see Aaron collapse. And for the first time, he felt fear. It was only now that he realized what a fearsome person the young man Kingston brought with him was.

Matthew then turned to approach Julian.

The other three people in the card game with him immediately stood up and moved to the side. The remaining few buff men hurried to flank their bosses.

Julian was the only one left at the table. He was quick to steady himself. "You... Stay right there... I'd like to strike a deal with you."

Matthew did not stop. His expression remained blank.

When he saw that, Julian hurriedly asked, "How much is Kingston paying you? I'd like to know how much the bounty is for me."

Matthew's gaze was steadfast as he continued stepping forward.

Anxious, Julian shouted, "How much is he paying you? I'll give you double! As long as you don't kill me, I'll give you the money right away!"

On the side, Kingston's heart was in his mouth as he stared at Matthew uneasily. He was worried that Matthew would answer Julian. But Matthew remained silent as he made his way forward.

Julian waved a palm in the air. "Kingston doesn't have a deep pocket. Even if he hires you, I'm sure he won't be paying you more than 50 grand. I'll give you 500 grand! It's ten times more than what he's paying you! Please consider it!"

Kingston was left even more ill at ease when he heard that Julian was willing to pay Matthew 500 thousand. He wasn't paying Matthew even a single penny. In fact, he'd offended Matthew!

At the thought of that, he grew antsy. He looked at Matthew anxiously, worried that he might agree to the offer.

But Matthew simply smirked. "50 grand?"

Julian saw that Matthew held the amount he offered in disdain. However, that somehow gave him some confidence. "If 50 grand isn't enough, I can offer you more. I'll give you five million! Five million as long as you let me off today, how's that?"

Five million? Kingston was left downright unsettled. No man on earth wasn't tempted by money. Everyone had a price they'd give in to.

500 thousand wasn't a small amount, but it wasn't exactly a huge fortune either. But five million was no doubt an enormous amount that could cause many to yield.

Even he was starting to waver, much less Matthew. Kingston was almost certain that Matthew would take Julian up on the offer. He couldn't help wondering how he should deal with the situation.
