Quentin picked up on the anger in Vernon's voice and knew that he always followed through with his words. Matthew was out of luck to tick off Vernon. His entire family was going to be wiped out soon.

After a pause, Vernon looked up at the tall chimney. Noticing that it was completely quiet, he frowned. "How come production's halted? Now that I'm here, we need to get things going again. Get all the workers back to the factory."

Quentin readily worked on the task. "I'll notify Julian to make sure the factory workers get back to work."

At Silverbrook Village, there was a small yard with its door wide open. Matthew came out of the yard and made his way to the village entrance.

An old man flying a kite squinted. His eyes lit up for a second before the spark faded away. He was already in his twilight years and therefore walking unsteadily like he could collapse at any moment.

He moved with small steps like he was too old to move his legs properly. He held a wet kite string in his hand, water dripping down from it and running along his hand.

The old man looked up and saw that the kite wasn't flying very high, not even reaching the height of power lines. The kite was top-notch, and it was so light that it took just a little breeze to get it up in the air.

He pulled the kite string along as he walked toward Matthew. Just as he reached Matthew, the kite string suddenly slipped from his hand, and the kite shot up. He cried out in surprise, throwing the string away.

The wet kite string was tossed toward Matthew's legs. The old man's eyes hardened as he watched the scene unfold.

Matthew was walking when he suddenly kicked the spool of kite string. The spool spun as it flew toward the old man. Terrified, the latter was about to shout in panic.

However, the spool of string wrapped around the old man's neck. As the kite flew up, a gust of wind sent it drifting south, and the string happened to land right on the power line.

With his body stiffened up, the old man suddenly started shaking before collapsing to the ground. He shouted out loud, thrashing around as if trying to struggle. But soon, he went completely still.

The young man playing basketball saw this from a distance, his face going pale as a sheet. His hand holding the basketball trembled slightly.

With an icy gaze, Matthew quietly observed until nothing else showed up. Then, he continued walking to the village entrance.

A car was driving toward Matthew from afar, moving steadily at a slow pace. He moved out of the way in advance, sticking close to the roadside.

The young man dribbled his basketball as he walked over to Matthew. Just as he got closer, the car sped up and came closer. The basketball slipped out of his hand, and he suddenly lunged at Matthew.

Matthew made a quick move and dodged out of the way. The young man missed his target and tried to stop, but it was too late. He stumbled right in front of the car.

With a thud, the young man was knocked off his feet. The car kept going, rolling right over his body.

After the car came to a stop, the driver stuck his head out of the window and saw Matthew standing by the roadside. He froze in disbelief.

Matthew's gaze turned even colder. Was this how they intended to kill Stanley and Lillian?

The wet kite string hit the power line above, resulting in electrocution. A car came speeding by, and another person knocked the victim into this path. The victim would be run over and die.

All of the assassination approaches were brutal.

A murderous intent surged in Matthew's chest as if it was about to burst out of him. His gaze was cold and sharp like a blade.
