Matthew didn't expect Zachary to see it that way and chuckled. "All for the rich lady working in the finance department, huh? Keep it up."

With that, Matthew waved his hand to say goodbye.

In truth, most people could handle two minutes and 30 seconds of squats if they pushed themselves hard enough.

...

At the office on the highest floor of a building, Rachel's demeanor was as cold as ice.

Tracy handed Matthew a cup of coffee. "Stop overthinking things. If men were trustworthy, pigs would fly."

Rachel was momentarily taken aback before coming back to her senses. "I was just thinking about the new product of our company. The big chains have pretty much monopolized the pharmacies. How are we going to sell it?"

Tracy hummed in acknowledgment. "I thought you were thinking about why Matthew hired a beautiful bodyguard.

"Honestly, it says something about his character. Men like him start getting cocky after getting some money.

"People usually go for a pretty secretary, but he took it a step further. He got himself a gorgeous bodyguard to indulge in his own whims."

Rachel knitted her brows together. After taking the coffee, she gently sipped it and set it on the table.

Upon seeing this, Tracy grabbed the coffee and glanced at the lipstick on the cup. She then took a small sip from the same spot. The lipstick stain on the cup looked even more vibrant now.

Watching Tracy drink from her cup, Rachel complained, "Aren't you grossed out, Tracy? I just drank from that!"

Smiling, Tracy replied, "We grew up together. Why would I be bothered by that? I noticed your lipstick has a nice scent. It's subtle and refreshing."

Rachel blushed. "Do you have no shame? If someone heard that, they'd think something indecent between us. Don't say things like that again."

Tracy giggled. "I've never been the proper type anyway."

After saying that, Tracy fixed her gaze on Rachel, trying to catch her reaction. Rachel responded with a grin, "Why would you say that about yourself? What's going on with you? You've been saying weird things lately."

Tracy was mesmerized by Rachel's icy, aloof demeanor and couldn't take her eyes off Rachel's stunning face. "We've been together since childhood. I've spent more time with you than with my parents. I don't want to be apart from you."

Rachel cheerfully remarked, "We haven't been separated, and we're around each other every day. Since you work at my company every day, don't we see each other all the time?"

Tracy was captivated, staring as Rachel's icy expression softened into a smile. That smile felt like winter melting away into spring, with flowers blooming everywhere. It was breathtaking.

Tracy felt her heart skip a beat as memories of the past flashed through her mind.

Even as a kid, Rachel was already pretty, like a young princess who had walked straight out of a cartoon. After going to school, she became even more beautiful, and the male students couldn't leave her alone.

So, Tracy started learning martial arts and often ended up fighting with the male students. Rachel felt bad for her and didn't want her to get into any fights. In the end, Rachel kept a cold expression every day to discourage anyone from approaching.

Sure enough, there was a lot less trouble afterward, and they became closer.

With her parents constantly arguing, Rachel couldn't bring herself to smile at home. Only when she was with Tracy did she occasionally crack a smile.

Tracy believed Rachel's unparalleled beauty was meant solely for her, like a subtle hint from destiny.

As Matthew and Rachel grew closer, they started heading toward marriage. That was when Tracy suddenly realized she couldn't live without Rachel.

At this point, Tracy's feelings for Rachel grew stronger, but she couldn't bring herself to say it. She was afraid that talking about it might cost her even their friendship.

Noticing Tracy staring at her, Rachel giggled. "Why aren't you talking?"

Tracy grumbled, "I know you and I won't drift apart, but I just don't trust Matthew. The idea of a female bodyguard is too ridiculous."

Rachel realized that Tracy was concerned she might be fooled. She paused and said, "Matthew promised he'd explain everything next time we meet."

Tracy scoffed. "You actually believe what a man said?"

Just then, the office door creaked open, and Matthew walked inside.
