Elora POV Waking in the early morning, to terrible back pain, my lower back killing, my hips killing like they were out of place. As I roll trying to get comfortable the pressure becomes more intense to the point where even breathing deeply hurt, taking my breath away leaving me panting.
I sit up with a groan, Silas rolling before waking. His hand going to my lower back as he rubs it obviously feeling the pain I am in, through the bond. His thumbs digging into my lower back as he messages the area where the pain was radiating from.
I look out the window to only see darkness before looking at the clock it was only 4AM. I yawn before even that catches in my throat as pain ripples through my lower back.
âMaybe have a shower it might help with the discomfortâ He says while still rubbing my back in circles. I nod my belly going hard as the pain intensifies and I watch my round belly tense, feel it under my hand.
âLabour?â asks Silas.
âNo, it is in my back, probably Branxton hicksâ I tell him though, this was more painful, but shouldnât it be in the front not the back? I wondered, everything I read said it was like having terrible period pain, saying that I didnât read many books some of it horrified me so mainly read the ones about after baby is born.
âI will send Dakari to go get themâ Silas says but I wave him off, the pain suddenly leaving as quickly as it started.
âNo, its fine, see itâs going nowâ I tell finally catching a breath as the pain subsides.
âMaybe I should just in caseâ He says.
âNo because then they will have to leave again. They should be back tomorrow, Iâm not due yet I still have a weekâ I tell him.
âYou know you can go early?â He says and I nod.
âYeah, but I am fine nowâ I tell him, and he sighs before leaning over and kissing my belly, I let him and he places his head on my knee mumbling something I canât understand as he presses his lips against my stomach. I run my fingers through his hair which was getting longer making his eyes snap to me before he leans on one elbow looking back up at me.
âSorry, I got carried awayâ He says his hand rubbing over my bump softly.
He then hops up walking into bathroom and I hear the shower turn on before he walks out holding his hand out to me. His naked body standing in front me with no care in the world that his junk is eye level with me.
I roll my eyes while smirks at my now blushing face being caught staring. âMy eyes are up here loveâ
He says a smirk on his face, taking his hand letting him haul me to my feet.
I hop in the shower, Silas hopping in behind me starting the other shower head, the warm helping the back pain that instantly started to return as I stood up. Silas adjusting his shower head so it hits my back as well.
âI think I should send for Matitus and Dragusâ He says and I shake my head.
âNo, I must have slept funny, itâs in my back not my frontâ I tell him.
âI read in that baby book there is a thing called back labourâ He says and I raise an eyebrow at him.
âYou better hope this kid is small, cause it gonna tear you from asshole to navelâ He says.
âWas that supposed to make me feel better?â
âNo, I was just telling you, I seen pictures that book is very detailed, you know some women shit during labour?â
âOh my god stop Silas youâre not helpingâ
âWhat I am just sayingâ
âWell, I donât want to know, and stop reading whatever that book is, youâre grossing me outâ I tell him.
âYouâre grossed out someone took a picture of a woman crowning, I thought she had a major bush turns out that was the head, and it had a lot of hairâ He says with a chuckle making me laugh.
âAh donât make me laugh it hurtsâ I whine clutching my belly.
âI should get Victor to check you outâ He muses while my mouth falls open horrified at the thought.
âNo definitely notâ I tell him.
âHow else are we supposed to know if youâre in labour or not?â He asks.
âI am not spreading my legs in front of Victorâ
âWhy you spread them for us all the timeâ He says, and I slap him.
âNo, we will know when my waters break, how long does it take for them to get back from the caves?â I ask him.
âFlying half an hourâ He says, and I nod the pain easing off again.
âSee Branxton hicksâ I tell him.
âWant me to checkâ He says wriggling his fingers in front of my face.
âNo and stop being annoyingâ I tell him grabbing his fingers with a chuckle.
âSee laughter is the best medicineâ
âSays youâ
âNo, I didnât come up with that saying I stole it, sounds legit thoughâ He says before lacing his fingers through mine and stepping closer making me look up at him. He lets go his hands rubbing the sides of my belly.
âYouâre fascinated by it arenât you, you keep rubbing itâ
âWell, this is the closest you have let me get, and the longest you have been in a room with me in monthsâ he says and I feel his sadness through the bond, guilt hitting me.
âDonât feel guilty, I made some bad choices Loraâ He says his hand cupping my cheek.
âI shouldnât have killed your father, Iâm sorryâ I admit, knowing that was something I should have let him do.
I see his eyes flicker with some strange emotion I couldnât identify through the bond it was so fleeting.
âI should go make breakfastâ He says stepping out of the shower and wrapping a towel around his waist before walking out, I try feel him through the bond when I feel myself suddenly shoved out making my stomach drop. Was it something I said? I didnât understand, his sudden mood change or the emotion behind it, felt foreign, felt cold.
Hopping out, I wrap a towel around me and walking into the room. Silas walks out of the walk in with a pair of shorts on.
âI didnât mean to upset youâ I tell him trying to pull some pyjama pants on.
âJust argh just why mention it, you didnât have to mention itâ He says.
âWhat you can apologise, and I am expected to accept it right off the bat because we are mates, but when I do you carry on. I donât understand you sometimes youâre such a hypocriteâ I tell him.
âDonât Elora, just stop. Everything was fine then you have to open your mouth and mention my fatherâ
He snaps.
âWhy do I even botherâ I mutter pulling on my shirt as pain starts moving across my back again making me clutch the nightstand.
âWhat? Speak up Lora didnât catch thatâ He snaps at me and I watch him step forward.
âNothing Silasâ I tell him, not willing to argue with him while I am in pain. He growls before suddenly walking out and slamming the door making me jump.
