Monday arrived.
For the past three days, I focused intensely on "training" Ha Eun-young.
Much like I did with Ma Yeon-joo, I used the promise of giving her what she desired to extract information, alternating between periods of neglect and regular doses of drugs throughout the day. While these methods appeared effective in the moment, they didnât produce lasting results.
As soon as the effects of the drugs wore off, she reverted to hostility as if nothing had happened. It seemed this was due to her âpatriotismâ trait.
Her unwavering loyalty to the nation caused her to view me, someone she deemed a threat to it, as an enemy. Naturally, this led to negative responses.
"The patriotism trait is proving to be more troublesome than I expected."
In comparison, Ma Yeon-joo had already become my obedient pet. For the pleasure brought by the drugs and the satisfaction she received through me, she had turned into someone willing to do absolutely anything.
Considering she had once been more patriotic than anyoneâpractically the embodiment of the wordâher transformation was astounding.
So, I decided to use Ma Yeon-joo to help train Ha Eun-young. Not by having them engage with one another, but by creating a stark contrast in how they were treated and ensuring Ha Eun-young saw it firsthand.
First, while I was "training" Ha Eun-young, I sent Ma Yeon-joo to Koryo Medical for a full check-up.
I wanted to understand what, if any, issues were causing her current inability to experience pleasure.@@novelbin@@
"There is no immediate threat to her life," the doctor reported. "The components of the drug developed by Koryo Chemicals are remarkably stable. A short-term dosage is unlikely to cause severe problems. However, in Ma Yeon-jooâs case, the sudden administration to someone with no tolerance, followed by the immediate injection of narcotics, has caused a rapid increase in her brainâs threshold for pleasure. This threshold is now so high that normal stimuli fail to activate it."
"In simpler terms, she canât feel anything without drugs, right?"
"If you simplify it, yes. However, the pleasure Iâm referring to isnât limited to sexual satisfaction. Sheâs unable to experience pleasure across all aspects of human activityâhobbies, food, relationships, accomplishments. This will eventually lead to extreme depression."
"Does that mean sheâs losing her sense of taste too?"
