Easton turned around, only to see Kayson enter, and asked excitedly, “Kayson! Kayson! Have you

seen the new CFO?"

“Yeah.” Kayson nodded.

Easton chuckled. "What do you think? Isn't she pretty?”

"Yeah!" Kayson replied with a smile.

Easton sighed. “Too bad. I don't know what her name is or if she has a boyfriend...”

“Her name's Celeste Peach,” Kayson answered.

Easton, Reva, Quincy, and the others glanced at him at once.

"Why are you all looking at me like this?”

Easton could not help asking, “How do you know her name, Kayson?”

"Oh, she’s my friend.”

The rest of them widened their eyes as Easton wailed, ”

No! My first love is gone again!” Natalie deadpanned, “Easton, this is like your 216th first love.”

It was already after working hours, and Sadie was working overtime , so Kayson went downstairs to

meet Celeste without informing her.

Celeste chortled and whispered, “We won't have a scandal tomorrow, will we?”

Celeste took Kayson to a restaurant that served her favorite dishes. She used to cook on her own

when she stayed abroad, and Kayson was not a picky eater, so he could eat anything “When can the

car be picked up?” Kayson asked.

“In one or two days. I don’t want a temporary license plate, so I'll collect it after they've handled all

the details,” Celeste answered.

“That makes sense.” Kayson nodded.

Kayson wanted to take Celeste back after dinner, but she said that she wanted to take a stroll, and

he did not refuse.

Celeste sighed. “So much has changed here. I'll need to spend some time familiarizing myself.”

“Really?” I've spent a long time in the village, so I'm not quite sure.” “Village?” Celeste was puzzled.

Kayson nodded. “I've always stayed in the village. I'm only here under my mentor's orders to repay a

favor.” Celeste asked curiously, “Is it your hometown? Is your mentor in the village too? Is it fun

there? Will I get a

chance to visit your village in the future?” “It's kind of boring. You might not actually like it,” Kayson

replied. Celeste looked interested as she grinned. “Not necessarily!” While she spoke , there was a

subtle change in Kayson's expression as he dragged her to the side.

Boom! A crack appeared out of the blue where Celeste had just been standing!

"W-What's going on...” Celeste looked alarmed.

Kayson looked grim. “It's fine. I was the target.”

Celeste was still looking confused when Kayson suddenly picked her up, causing her to squeal and

cling to his neck.

collapsed as a result. Kayson kept Celeste protected behind him and
