"He had the audacity to freaking kiss me!" I inform Emily, with a frustrated huff.

"Woah woah woah, hold the boat. Alex kissed you?" She questions, sounding really confused.

"Yes! He freaking kissed me! Do you know how embarrassing that was? A lot of people saw us and they know we are step siblings- well soon-to-be but still!"

"Well think of it this way, you two aren't blood related-" she begins to explain but I cut her words short.

"I mean," I pause to think. "I did slap him so that must put me in the safe zone, right?"

"Hold it there, woah. You slapped him?"

"Yes, I slapped him right across his face." I clarify.

"Why?"

"Because he kissed me! And we're stepsiblings!" I explain, moving my arms around to mark my point.

"As I was trying to explain," she continues. "You two aren't blood related so it isn't considered incest because we all know that's gross, leave that in the ancient times. And also, your parents aren't married yet. Something can happen between the time of today and the wedding. They might just not get married and you two will never become stepbrother and sister."

"But-"

"But nothing." She cuts me off. "As of now you two are just living together, no relation of any kind except the confusing thing going on between you two, lord knows what it is."

"It's nothing." I fill in, running my fingers through my hair.

"Just remember what I said, you two aren't blood related. If you two wanna date then date. Everyone gets judged either way, why not take the wild side of things? You'll know you aren't doing anything wrong, but the people around you will think it is. Just let them. What do they care?"

I raise an eyebrow at her. "You are making a good point, I can't deny that, but I don't see him as anything except maybe a friend. I don't even want him as my brother, I don't want to be stuck with him for the rest of my life." I tell her and she rolls her eyes.

"You're being dramatic." She comments. "But if you don't want him then please pass him over to me, the guy is very handsome."

I laugh at her, as she winks. "There's the Emily I've known for years now."

"Shut up." She laughs, shoving my shoulder.

"Smart ass." I tell her, as she curls a piece of my hair away from my face.

"I'll make you look hella ugly if you keep that up." She threatens and I chuckle before letting her do her thing.

"Do you think Alex will be there?" I ask her, and she finishes curling the last piece of my hair.

"Isn't he in the soccer team?"

"No idea." I answer truthfully.

"I thought I saw him during the time that I was actually paying attention, well kind of." She says to me, letting out a little laugh.

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "I didn't see him and I was paying attention during the entire game."

"The thing about you, is that your main focus is always Julian when he plays."

"He's my best friend, as you are too." I defend. "Of course I'm going to focus my attention on him."

"Excuses, excuses. We both know that's not it." She says to me, zipping open her makeup bag. "You two like each other, or might even love but both of you are in denial. I mean hell, you two act like a couple but never made it official. You think I don't notice the constant kisses?"

I blush. "They're friendly kisses."

"Friendly my ass." She scoffs, then she turns to smirk at me.

"What?"

"You didn't deny the fact that I said you both might love each other." She says, a wide smile spreading across her face.

"It's not love." I correct. "But I can't deny the feeling that I have towards him."

"Which is?" She asks me eagerly, taking out her mascara wand.

I lean closer towards her and raise my eyebrows, letting her put a coat of mascara onto my eyelashes. "That I'm not sure of."

"Sure you're not."

"Can you please just finish making me pretty for the party? We're already late."

"Fashionably late." She corrects, applying a red lip color on my lips. "I'm surprised you're letting me put this color on you. Also, very surprised that you agreed to wear that dress."

I look down at my dress and shrug. "It's a nice dress."

"Indeed it is." She agrees, finishing up my makeup before smiling at me. "And I'm done."

"How do I look?" I ask nervously, getting up from my seat to stand in front of the mirror.

"Absolutely stunning and excruciatingly beautiful." She laughs and I turn to raise an eyebrow at her.

"Now, where have I heard that one before?" I hum in thought and she laughs again, before going into her closet to take out two pairs of heels. "I did not agree with heels, Emily."

"Oh, loosen up will you?" She scoffs, handing me a pair of ankle breakers. "You're 5'1, trust me you need the height."

"Gee thanks."

I take the heels from her and eye them hesitantly.

"The heels are thick, so they're easier to walk in. They also lace up so there's no way they can fall off in the middle of the night or something." She explains, offering me an encouraging smile.

"That doesn't change the fact that I've never stepped into a pair."

"You'll be fine, just try them on." She instructs, slipping into her own pair.

"Why are we wearing dresses and heels to a high school party, anyway?" I can't help but ask, sitting back down before sliding into the first shoe.

She shrugs. "To fit in?"

"Don't you mean, to hoe around?"

She gasps, her eyes widening. "No, of course not!"

I laugh at her and she smacks my arm. "Ow!"

"Don't say that!" She defends, standing up from her seat and I look at her warily.

"How are you walking so well with those things on?"

"Practice." She answers, smiling. "Put the other one on and you'll see just how easy it is."

I do as she says and stand up slowly, being cautious.

I take a few steps forward and grin in success when I don't fall and twist my ankle. "I'm doing it!"

She laughs. "Yes, you are."

I walk around the room and she grabs my arm, before pulling me out of her room.

"You're a natural, now let's get going."

I trail behind her and we both hop into her car, driving off towards the party.

"Just how I like it." Emily tells me, as we step into the house with music already blaring. "All eyes on us."

I look around at the people and sure enough, everyone is staring at the both of us. "I'm not sure I like it." I reply, raising my voice so that she can hear me.

She grabs my arm and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion when she begins to drag me deeper into the house. "A cup of alcohol should help us start the night."

"No, I'm not drinking. Neither are you." I tell her and she looks back at me over her shoulder.

"Says who?"

"Me, and I'm sure your brother wouldn't like his little sister drinking either." I shout over the music and she continues to drag me towards the kitchen.

"He's having a drink of his own, look." She points to our right and I turn to see what she's talking about, spotting Julian taking a sip from a red solo cup as one of his friends talks to him.

I sigh, letting her pull me all the way to the kitchen.

"Hello there, babes." A guy behind the counter catches my attention and he offers me a wide smile, showing off his pearly whites.

I smile back at him and look around the party as Emily asks him for a drink.

"Here you go, bottoms up." Emily tells me as she hands me a red solo cup, taking a sip of her own.

I take it and eye the contents inside warily. "What is it?"

"It's an alcohol infusion with a cherry flavor. Try it, you can't really taste the alcohol."

I take a small sip, preparing myself for the burn but it never comes.

I take another sip and she smiles at me. "It's good isn't it?"

"Yeah." I agree, drinking it all in one go.

"Woah, slow down the drinking." A new voice speaks up from behind me and I turn around to see Julian.

"Hey," I wave, turning back around to ask for another drink. "A cherry infusion, please." I tell the guy behind the counter and he flashes me a smile before pouring me another drink.

I take a sip from it and spin back around to face Julian. "You look beautiful, as always." He tells me and I feel my cheeks heat up.

"Thank you."

"Wanna dance?" He asks me, and I nod my head before finishing up my drink. "Take it easy with that. Just because you can't feel it now, doesn't mean it isn't doing its thing."

"Yeah yeah whatever, let's dance."

He chuckles and grabs my hand before he leads me towards the dance floor, where many couples are already grinding against each other and some girls are just dancing with their friends out of rhythm.

We stop in the middle of the dance floor and I wrap my arms around his neck while his go around my waist.

We dance slowly at first and once the beat drops, we separate and dance around freely.

After a few songs, we go over to the counter to get ourselves another drink. I get the same cherry infusion and Julian just gets soda since he's the designated driver.

I take a big sip, already feeling it doing its thing.

"Where's Emily?" Julian asks me, looking around the party.

"I don't know." I answer with a giggle, taking another sip.

He turns to give me a strange look and I grin at him, bringing the cup up to my lips to finish my drink but he takes it away.

"Hey! Give it back!" I whine, reaching out to try and get it but he raises it higher. "Now, that's not fair you're much taller than I am."

He gives me a stern look as he keeps looking around the party. "I think you've had enough." He simply says.

I cross my arms across my chest as I pout.

"Now, help me look for Emily so we can go home."

"I don't want to go home." I tell him, looking up at my drink still in his hand.

"Well, isn't it a good thing that I'm not giving you a choice?" He asks, looking down at me.

I give him my best puppy dog face. "Can I please have my drink back?"

"No."

I groan, before making my way towards the kitchen.

"No you don't." Julian says as he grabs my wrist and pulls me back to his side, wrapping his arm around my waist securely.

"No, leave me!" I complain as I try to get out of his hold.

A guy notices me and walks up to us, giving us both a confused expression. "What's going on here?" He asks, raising his eyebrows at me as I still try to get away from him.

"He took away my drink, and doesn't let me go get another one." I reply.

"Let her go, bro." The guy tells Julian and he turns to give him a glare.

"You're not needed here, bud. Go on somewhere else. I know what I'm doing." Julian tells him and the guy simply throws his hands up, before walking away in the other direction.

"Asshole." I tell Julian.

"Call me what you want, Princess. We're still going home once we find Emily."

I huff, as I stop fighting against him.

I look down and realize that my drink is still in his hand, and that same hand is the one wrapped around me.

I look up at his face and grin when I see that his attention is elsewhere. I slowly reach out for it and pull it out of his hand before I quickly chug it all.

Julian instantly puts his attention to me and I throw the empty cup back, giving him a cheeky smile. "Why can't you ever listen to me?" He asks me with a sigh.

I ignore his question as I look around. "Where's Emily?"

"Wooh!" I hear her voice shout in excitement and I look around, spotting her dancing on top of a table. "I love this song!"

I giggle as I look at her and I push myself away from Julian, running towards her.

She notices me running and she bends down for me to grab her hand. "Come join me!"

I grin as I grab her hand and she tries to pull me up but instead we both stumble and fall.

We both squeal in terror, arms instantly wrapping around our bodies to keep us from hitting the floor. Julian is the one to catch her.

"Woah, take it easy. You don't want to get hurt, now do you?" The guy who caught me says and I spin around in his arms, realizing that it's Alexander.

"No, you're my hero." I tell him, sliding my hands down his chest.

"Oh really?" He chuckles, smiling at me.

"I think you deserve a kiss." I say.

"I think so too." He smirks, his eyes traveling down to my lips.

I lean up slowly, wrapping my arms around his neck while he leans down towards me.

He looks behind me and I notice an evil glint in his eyes before our lips finally connect, both of us closing our eyes.

We only kiss for a little bit before I pull away.

He tries to lean in again but I push my index finger against his lips, letting out a little giggle.

"That's all you get." I tell him, before turning around and walking towards Emily and Julian.

They're both sitting on the couch when I get to them, with Julian pulling Emily's hair back while she throws up into a bag.

Julian looks up at me and I smile at him, but he ignores me and fixes his attention back to Emily.

"Let's get you two home." He sighs, getting up from his seat and helping Emily stand up as well once she stops throwing up.

She wraps her arm around my shoulders as we walk out and she leans in towards me as she whispers into my ear, "Julian is a little grumpy. We saw you two kiss."

I turn to give her a confused look and she winks at me.

"Get it girl." She says and I turn to look at Julian, who is in fact looking a little grumpy.

He leads us to his car and helps Emily into the passenger's seat.

I can't help but get a little hurt by that, no matter how intoxicated I am I still know that he always lets me in the passenger's seat.

He shuts the door for her and turns to me, running his fingers through his hair as he goes around to the driver's seat.

I furrow my eyebrows and get into the backseat, looking out of the window during the entire car ride in silence.
