Chapter 367 You Will Not Succeed
Previously, Bennett had boasted to them about the worth of the company, claiming it to be his financial leverage against the Quirk family should they discover his illegitimate children. This led Sloane, Terry, and Vera to believe that the company was extremely profitable..
Considering Sarahâs current attitude, the two elders didnât hesitate. They immediately declared, âNo way. We also want this company.â
Sarahâs face turned sour. âNinaâs and iny share of the inheritance will be exchanged for this company!â
However, the more Sarah acted this way, the harder the two elders clung on. Even though Sloane preferred tangible assets, her younger brother stepped in to quell her hesitation. After all, with the company, he could become the boss. Hence, he was fully supportive of the two elders, even adding fuel to the fire by glorifying the company.
Seeing that Sarah was firmly refusing, the two elders began to play the emotional card.
âThat is Bennettâs last effort. Weâre not like you. We value relationships. This is all we want.
Everything else belongs to the Quirk family. This is the only thing that belongs to the Eaton family.
You canât take it away! As long as you give us the company, weâre willing to forgo all other inheritance.â
Once the elders had finished their part, Sloane and her children began theirs. They claimed that the company was left to them by Bennett. He had personally told them that if Sarah were to snatch it away, he would not rest in peace.â
The Quirks struggled to hold back their laughter.
Yet, Sarah continued to act. Even Nina joined in, âMom, we arenât interested in that sort of thing.â
Sarah took a deep breath, her face showing clear signs of struggle. Finally, with a look of reluctance, she said, âAll right, I can agree to this arrangement, but I have one condition.â
The group of people looked at Sarah cautiously as if they were afraid she might pull some tricks in the companyâs distribution and leave them at a disadvantage.
Sarah said, âI want to remove Ninaâs name from the Eaton family registry. I also want you all to sign an agreement, severing ties with Nina. From then on, Nina will no longer be your granddaughter!
Any issues related to your future care will have nothing to do with Nina!â
Naturally, Sarahâs demands were quite distressing for the two elders, and Sloane wasnât too pleased either.
Despite the harsh words exchanged during their recent argument, they knew deep down that as long as they had this granddaughter, they would have no worries for the rest of their lives. She was their link, their bond. As Nina grew older, she would have to consider her grandparentsâ feelings and take care of her younger siblings. This was something that couldnât be altered by the cold, impersonal laws.
âNina is, after all, a part of the Eaton family. Your actions are quite unethical,â Terry said.
Once again, Sarah witnessed their shamelessness, which stirred deep feelings within her. Had she been blind all those years before? How had she failed to see their inhumanity?
Nina was absolutely livid, her eyes wide with indignation as she retorted, âYou just disowned me a moment ago. Does being older give you the right to be inconsistent?â

Vera immediately said. âWe were just upset by your mother. Youâre so young. What could you possibly understand?â
Of course, Nina understood. She knew that these shameless relatives of hers wanted to take advantage of her for a lifetime, something she was completely unwilling to let happen.
âYou never liked me before, but now you want to cling to me, expecting me to support you in your old age. Iâm not ignorant!â Ninaâs eyes reddened with anger. Her voice was a mix of hurt and determination. âBut you wonât succeed. I would rather die than support you. If you canât accept this, then feel free to sue me in court!â
Observing Ninaâs antagonistic demeanor, Terry and Vera were deeply upset. They were on the verge of reprimanding her.
Sarah interrupted, âYou donât agree? All right then, we insist on fighting for that company. You people canât manage it properly, so I believe it would be most reasonable for us to win the lawsuit.â
Upon hearing Sarahâs words, Sloaneâs brother was thrown into a panic. He was the one most eager to take over the company. After all, the other inheritances seemed out of his reach, while the company was something he could immediately manage. Even if he didnât do well in running it, selling it would still be quite lucrative. Bennett had previously mentioned something about going public, and generally, a company sold after going public would be worth billions. It was certainly more valuable than the other inheritances.
