The temple of Adonia stood tall, its ivory pillars reaching for the heavens, basking in the glow of the eternal sun. Mortals flocked to this sacred place, praying for beauty, love, and the favor of the goddess who ruled over such gifts.

You, however, never believed in such things.

Unlike the countless worshippers who begged for the blessing of flawless skin, a perfect figure, or enchanting charm, you never sought to change yourself. You were chubby, soft, and round in ways that society often sneered at. But you didn’t care. You loved yourself as you were. You loved the way your body felt—warm, comforting, strong.

But you were here, standing before the grand altar of Adonia, only because your friends had insisted on dragging you along. They whispered about miracles, about how the goddess answered prayers in ways no mortal could imagine. You scoffed at their foolishness but stood among them anyway, watching as they knelt and whispered their vain desires.

As you turned to leave, a chilling breeze swept through the temple—a breeze that carried a voice.

"You… do not pray for beauty?"

A shiver ran down your spine. The voice was rich and honeyed, yet there was an edge to it, something possessive, something dangerous. You turned, heart pounding, only to find the grand statue of Adonia bathed in an unnatural glow. The gemstone eyes of the goddess gleamed like liquid gold, and before your very eyes, the stone cracked and crumbled away, revealing flesh beneath.

The goddess had awakened.

Your friends screamed, scrambling to flee, but you were frozen as the divine being stepped down from her pedestal, her golden hair cascading like rivers of silk, her body wrapped in celestial fabrics that shimmered with every color of dawn. Her beauty was blinding, suffocating, an otherworldly perfection that could drive mortals mad.

Yet her golden eyes were locked on you alone.

"Why do you not seek my gift?" she whispered, tilting her head as if she could not comprehend such a thing.

You swallowed hard. "Because I don’t need it."

Silence.

Then, a slow, delighted smile stretched across her lips.

"How… divine."

In the next instant, she was before you, her hands cupping your face, her touch unbearably warm. She was so close, too close, her scent an intoxicating blend of roses and something richer, something primal.

"No one has ever refused me before," she purred, fingers tracing your cheeks, your lips, your throat. "No one has ever denied my gifts… yet you…" Her nails dug in slightly, not enough to hurt, but enough to remind you of her power. "You are already perfect."

Your breath hitched.

"You do not crave my beauty because you already possess something more precious…" She let out a breathless laugh, as if she had just discovered the most exquisite treasure in existence. "You are real."

Something was deeply, deeply wrong.

You tried to step back, but her grip tightened, her nails pressing into your skin with barely restrained desperation.

"I have spent eternity surrounded by those who worship my image, but none have ever seen me. None have ever existed without needing me. But you…" She inhaled sharply, her golden eyes darkening with something dangerously close to obsession. "You do not need me, yet I need you."

Your pulse pounded in your ears. "That’s not—"

"You will stay with me."

A wave of power crashed over you, and the temple around you blurred. Reality twisted, and when your vision cleared, you were no longer in the temple. You were somewhere else—somewhere divine.

Marble pillars loomed around you, wrapped in ivy and blooming flowers. A sky of endless twilight stretched above, stars glimmering like scattered diamonds. The air was thick with the scent of nectar and roses, the warmth of this realm wrapping around you like a lover’s embrace.

Adonia stood before you, radiant, trembling, eyes filled with an emotion too overwhelming to name.

"You belong here now," she whispered, pressing a kiss to your forehead, reverent and possessive. "With me. Forever."

Your heart slammed against your ribs as you realized the truth.

The goddess of beauty, the divine being worshipped by millions, had become utterly, hopelessly obsessed.

With you.

And she had no intention of letting you go.
