Roaxana lifted the wine glass and took the last sip. âI feel full now,â she asserted and placed the glass on the table.
Isaac was happy to see that she enjoyed the meals.
âYou shouldn't do such things, Isaac. Itâs in vain. You said you would be my friend. But now, you want to be my lover. A friend should stay as a friend, not try to become the lover, Roaxana pronounced as her anger suddenly burst out.
â| called you as a friend though, Isaac stated.
âYou donât book a private room with a friend,â Roaxana corrected him.
â| donât want papa razzi to see us and then, click pictures. We both are quite famous and then, itâs a headache to remove such pictures from the social media,â he affirmed, clarifying to her how he wanted to have supper with her as a friend only.
Roaxana felt guilty for accusing him for nothing. âI am very sorry,â she apologized.
âIt seems Ryan has affected you deeply. Let's go then. I'll drop you home,â Isaac opined. and left his seat. He extended his hand to Roaxana, which she grasped gently.
âShall we leave?â
âHmm.â Roaxana was pulled up and they both left the private dining room. As they walked through the corridor, she realized she entered the hotel in the casual clothes.
When Isaac put his blazer on Roaxanaâs shoulders, she tilted her head to look at him. âIt is cold outside, he murmured.
As they finally left the hotel, Roaxana thanked Isaac for the delicious meals. âYou donât need to trouble yourself in dropping me home. | came in Grandpaâs car with the driver, so I'll go in that,â she proclaimed.
Isaac didnât force her and asked her to get into the car. She nodded and turned around when her eyes fell on Ryan, who was stepped out of the same hotel, but not alone. His father and elder brother were with him.
Ryanâs gaze met hers, and she hoped he would at least say a âhelloâ to her.
However, he ignored her as if he didnât recognize her.
While Isaac recognized Ryan and felt a pang of jealousy. The way Roaxana looked at Ryan was different than she looked at him.
Roaxana clenched her fist as she had the enough. She felt she wanted an answer and if Ryan couldnât give her, then he would ask his father.
Roaxana stepped toward them and held the door, which the chauffeur was going to shut. Ryanâs father, James, lifted his head while Ryan stopped at the passanger seatâs door.
âWhy did you break my friendship with Ryan?â Roaxana asked.
âWhat?â James fumed in anger.
Suddenly Ryan appeared in front of her and shut the door of the backseat. âMove away,â Ryan told her, the eyes which once carried so much love and concern as a friend for Roaxana were suddenly replaced with hatred and anguish.
Isaac couldn't stop himself at walked to them. âTalk with respect, you wolf,â Isaac muttered as he gritted his teeth.
âAsk your girlfriend to not disturb us. She should not stop us the way she did now and I'll not even talk to her,â Ryan pronounced, looking at Isaac.
âYour mother didnât die because of us,â Roaxana said. âYour father lied to you,â she stated as tears welled up in her eyes.
Ryan furrowed his brows together. âTake your girlfriend away, Mr. Isaac Sinclair,â he stated. âYou two look great together.â
Isaac held Roaxanaâs hand and took her away from there while Ryan got into the car quickly.
Noah, his elder brother, started the carâs engine and drove out of the hotel premises. He narrowly gazed at Ryan, who looked troubled. As his elder brother, he understood how much Roaxana meant for Ryan. He felt that it wasnât her fault that their motherâs died. But because of their father, Ryan had to break the friendship with Roaxana.
âAre you still in talk with the Moore's family only daughter?â James asked in a h 0a rse.
tone.
âNo, Dad. | am not. Sorry for the earlier,â Ryan immediately refused and then, quickly apologized.
âStay away from them. It is for your own good,â James stated.
â| know,â Ryan replied.
âDad, wouldn't it be odd to punish two friends for something they both donât know?â Noah intervened and looked at James through the rear-view mirror.
âAre you saying | should let Ryan fall in their trap too? | lost my wife, and | donât want to loose my son to those ba st ards,â he proclaimed, a pain reflected in his voice because he missed his wife.
âI'm sorry, Dad,â Noah apologized this time. However, he still strongly believed that such a misunderstanding from Jamesâs mind needed to be taken out, and Ryanâs too.
Isaac sent the driver home while he decided to drop Roaxana home. He gave her the water bottle after opening its lid. âDrink it,â
he said in his gentle tone.
After taking a few sips, she returned the bottle to Isaac, who closed it and threw it at that backseat.
âIf someone doesnât respect you, then you shouldn't allow that person to tra mple on your dignity for the second time,â Isaac asserted.
âRyan hates me for something | never did. And itâs not his fault. His father corrupted his thoughts,â Roaxana stated.
Isaac snickered to hear that. âRyan doesnât respect you. He is no longer the one, whom you used to know once,â he proclaimed.
âYou are right. But | feel | should not give up on him,â Roaxana affirmed. She recalled. how Ryan used to miss his mother when he was young. Perhaps that pain had suddenly grown inside him and it inflicted such negative emotions in him. Ryan was a type, who would always hide his pain to please the others.
âSo, you want to go back to that jerk!?â Isaac arched his eyebrows.
âHeâs not a jerk. | know heâs dying from inside,â Roaxana murmured as she peered at Isaac. âYou should drop me home. Itâs already late,â she suggested to him.
Isaac hummed and drove her home. After seeing her off, Isaac left in his car.
Roaxana reached the front yard of the house when a serv ant informed her Noah had come to see her. She was shocked because Ryanâs elder brother never came there.
Walking faster, she finally reached the seating area of the garden and saw Noah there.
Noah stood up from the sofa to see her and passed a smile to her. After Roaxana sat, Noah sat too. âHow are you doing?â he asked. âYou don't need to tell lie to me.â
âNot well,â Roaxana truthfully answered.
âIt must be because of Ryan,â he asserted.
âYeah. He broke our friendship and told me to never show my face to him,â Roaxana.

Noah shook his head. âDad told us that our mother died because of a decision that the Moore Family took. Thatâs why Ryan must have said that. But that boy is killing himself from inside. During the day, he consumes himself with work while at night he gets.
immersed in drinking. Alcohol is the way for him to forget his pain,â Noah narrated everything to her that happened in the past few days.
âWhy is doing this to himself? He knows well | wasnât the reason behind it,â Roaxana affirmed.
âBecause of Dad. Also, he wants you to be away from him. Like, he thinks it will affect your life too,â Noah pronounced.
âShould | chase him then? | look like a fool,â she chuckled and laughed.
âDonât you love him?â Noah suddenly questioned her.
Roaxana met his gaze and stopped blinking, â| know you love my brother for a long time. He is a foolish man not to see it. You should consider about chasing him and supporting him in the time when heâs at his lowest. | won't force you to do it because Ryan has hurt you as well. But if you are ready to fight for your love, then you should. Ryan is suffering hell,â he advised her while ensuring her he would support her fully.
âWhat if Ryan gets angrier?â Roaxana asked.
âYou know my brother more than me. You know what kind of man he is and he still carries the soft spot for you,â Noah pronounced.
Roaxana fidgeted with her fingers. She would not let Ryan suffer all alone. He was her best friend and she needed to make an effort to bring peace to his heart by not only delivering the truth to him but also the love he deserved.
