Chapter 100
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âSometimes, itâs better not to be so curious.â Calvin looked away and started driving the car.
âAll right. I understand, Loretta said obediently.
She had inquired about Calvinâs preference. He preferred submissive women. The more obedient they were, the longer they could stay with him. Those women who relied on his favor and desperately wished to be the âexceptionâ or his âonly oneâ were all dumped by him.
Although she also desired to be the âexceptionâ and âonly one,â she wouldnât be in a hurry. She would slowly make Calvin value her more.
âCalvin, thank you for buying me the necklace today. I like it so much. But Iâm afraid I donât have a chance to wear such a beautiful and luxurious necklace.â Loretta appeared happy at first, then regretful.
Loretta thought her performance was perfect. However, Calvin thought it was somewhat ridiculous.
After all, he had seen too many women acting. He replied, âYou can wear it for the Starlight Banquet.â
Loretta was overjoyed. Then, she added, âBut Iâm just a new actor now. Iâm afraid I wonât get an invitation to the Starlight Banquet.â
âYou donât need an invitation to get there. Just follow me. Iâll introduce some directors and producers to you,â Calvin said. Loretta immediately replied, âCalvin, you are so nice!â
Calvin drove the car with a cold gaze throughout.
He knew what Loretta desired, so he said it. After all, she was his girlfriend at the moment.
He didnât mind giving her some benefits, as long as she could bring him some comfort.
When the car arrived at the gate of the Leighton residence, Loretta said affectionately, âCalvin, thank you for driving me home. Would you⦠like to come in?â
âNo,â he rejected, slowly approaching her face.
Lorettaâs heart raced, and she thought, âIs he going to kiss me?â
It didnât take long for her to be disappointed as he just stroked her lips and gently wiped off some of the lipstick she had put 1.
He frowned slightly, drew a piece of tissue paper to wipe the lipstick off his finger, and then said faintly.
âDonât apply this, color next time. It is too bright for your lips.â
âAh⦠Okay. I get it,â Loretta responded right away.
âThen, get out of the car,â he instructed in an emotionless tone, As soon as Loretta got out of the car, the car sped away.
Loretta bit her lips, with a look of doubt flashing across her face. She couldnât figure out why Calvin appeared to be willing to do anything to please her. He would buy anything she liked, like designer shoes, bags, clothes, and jewelry.
Furthermore, he invested a lot in her acting career as if they were free.
But he didnât seem to like her at all. He even looked at her coldly at times.
âItâs only just begun. Iâm sure Iâll win Calvinâs heart,â Loretta comforted herself inwardly.
âBut what happened to Rosalie? Is Rosalie with Jonathan now?â This doubt lingered in Lorettaâs mind.
In the small rental home, Jonathan carried Rosalie to the room and put her on the bed.
âYou may go back now,â Jonathan told Carlos, who had followed him in.
Carlosâ eyes flashed with surprise. But after working for Jonathan for many years, he naturally understood that there were some things he shouldnât ask.
âAll right,â Carlos answered and left the rental home.
Carlos wondered, âSince Mr. Youngblood asked him to leave first, does that mean heâs staying here tonight?â
In the rental home, there were only Jonathan and Rosalie left.
Jonathan helped Rosalie take off her shoes and coat, then covered her with the quilt. He pulled a chair and sat by the bed.
Speaking of which, he hadnât stayed here in a long time. The âtracesâ of his past living in this house appeared to be gone. Jonathan wondered, âDid she throw away everything I used?â Thinking of this, he frowned and felt uneasy.
10:47 At this moment, Rosalie, who was sleeping, suddenly opened her eyes and tried to get out of bed.
âWhatâs wrong?â Jonathan asked.
She opened her eyes in a daze, âWater⦠I want to drink waterâ¦â
Jonathan thought, âShe must be thirsty after drinking so much wine earlier.â
Jonathan sighed and pressed her to sit on the bed. âSit still. Iâll get you some water!â
If she went to get the water by herself now, she might be scalded by the hot water.
Jonathan came to the tabletop with a thermos flask, knowing Rosalie always left a cup of room-
temperature water there. When she wanted to drink water in the winter, she could simply mix it with hot water to make warm water.
He took a cup, mixed some warm water in it, and returned to the bedside.
Rosalie sat quietly on the bed as instructed. She looked well-behaved, sitting almost like that of a primary school student. Jonathan looked at Rosalie and couldnât help laughing.
Rosalie looked up when she heard his laughter. She looked at Jonathan with her half-opened mesmerizing eyes. Her face was flushed, and her lips were red as well.
âWaterâ¦â she kept murmuring, but her sitting posture remained the same as before.
Jonathan only felt she was indescribably cute.
âOkay. Hereâs your water, he said, carefully handing the glass of water to her lips.
Rosalie hurriedly reached out to grab the glass and drank up all the water. She took a long, satisfied breath after finishing. Then, she smiled at Jonathan and said. âThank you.â
âIs that enough? Do you want more?â Jonathan asked.
Rosalie tilted her head as if trying to understand what he meant, and then she murmured, âSleepyâ¦
Sleepâ¦â
âGo aheadâ¦â Before Jonathan could finish the sentence, Rosalie had already reached out to grab his hand.
Jonathan hadnât been paying attention, and she had dragged him onto the bed.
The next thing he knew, Rosalie was already on top of him, smiling softly. She then gently touched his face.
âJon⦠Why are you so good-looking?â Her voice sounded softly in his cars, with the smell of wine in her sweet breath as if to charm him.
