Chapter 1006
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
If Yvette were still alive and had used the child as a bargaining chip to have him go against the Youngblood family, perhaps he would have agreed.
âIn that case, Mr. Serton, when will you take Felix back to Lommore?â Jonathan asked.
âIt wonât be now. Iâm afraid he will be disturbing the Youngblood family for a little while longer.
Whenever he finally decides he wants to go back to Lommore with me, Iâll take him home.â Wyatt said, âAs for Felixâs living expenses, I will have someone send a check later.â
Jonathan raised an eyebrow and thought, âSince he wants to pay for us raising his son, thereâs no reason for me not to accept it.â
The conversation was over. The two men returned to their respective cars and headed in opposite directions.
In the evening, Rosalie was shocked after hearing Jonathan recount the encounter.
âWhat? Felix is Wyatt Sertonâs son? Are you sure?â The Serton family of Lommore was also a well-
known prestigious family in the country. However, according to various media scandals, it was a family that was rife with internal struggles.
Wyatt was the head of the Serton family and a famous bachelor in Lommore. He was 35 years old but had no lovers and seemingly no interest in women. There had been no news that he was interested in men either.
âWyatt personally admitted that Felix was his son today. He must have obtained the DNA test results.â
Jonathan said, âBut it seems that Felix is unwilling to go with him. Thatâs why he said that heâll only bring Felix back to Lommore when Felix wants to leave.â
Rosalie was stunned and then guessed, âDo you think itâs because of Jen that Felix doesnât want to leave?â After all, the two children had a tight relationship. Jennifer was always running off to sleep in Felixâs room every night, so when Rosalie wanted to find her daughter in the mornings, she could always find her in Felixâs room.
âMaybe.â Jonathan added with a faint smile, âBut Iâm sure that one day, he will leave the Youngblood family and return to Lommore.â
âI agree. After all, Wyatt is his biological father, and the Serton family is his real family,â Rosalie said.
Jonathan shook his head. âWhen Felix eventually decides to return to the Serton family, it wonât be because of blood relations. It will be because of the realization that he will never be able to get what he truly wants if he doesnât return to the Serton family.â
Rosalie couldnât help laughing. âWhat he truly wants? What could a child want? At most, it would be toys or snacks, maybe making more friends. But Felix doesnât seem to like making friends.â
Jonathan smiled but remained silent. He thought, âA man like Wyatt would never feel at ease leaving his son in someone elseâs house at all. Soon, heâll do something to make Felix understand the cruelty of reality.
Then again, if the child really returned to Lommore, Jennifer would lose a companion.â
Although Jennifer seemed quite interested in Felix at present, Jonathan still didnât want to leave a ticking time bomb like him around his daughter. After all, Felixâs mother was Yvette.
Even if the Serton family hadnât come searching, Jonathan would have forced Felix to leave the Youngblood family in a few years!
He thought, âNow, however, if Felix were to return to the Serton family, what would he be like in the future? What would happen to his relationship with Jen?â
Following that, Jonathan silently laughed at himself for thinking too much. Even if the child eventually became the heir of the Serton family in the future and held real power, he would not let the boy hurt his daughter.
Every time Lillian had a prenatal examination, she would be escorted by a caregiver. Callum would also accompany her.
As for Stephen and Abigail, they had been arranged to live in Callumâs private mansion. They werenât 09:461 disturbed by any reporters, but to avoid unnecessary trouble, they could only video call their daughter every day.
Today, Callum accompanied Lillian to the hospital as usual. When Lillian had to enter the B-scan room for her examination, Callum remained outside while a female caregiver went with her.
The baby was in good condition, causing Lillian to breathe a sigh of relief. However, when she walked out of the B-scan room, she saw a woman standing in the VIP lounge, talking to Callum.
As soon as Callum saw Lillian coming out, he came forward and asked, âAre you done? What did the doctor say?â
âEverything is normal,â Lillian replied. Then, her eyes focused on the unknown woman.
The woman was pretty, with exquisite makeup and fashionably dressed in high-end tailored clothes.
She looked like a socialite.
As soon as the woman spoke, Lillianâs speculation was confirmed.
âAre you Lillian Quinn? Iâm Veronica Turner from the Turner family and CEO of Turner Group.â Although the woman was introducing herself, she looked at Lillian with disdain.
It was as though she exuded a sense of superiority and thought of Lillian as just an ant beneath her feet.
Such a look made Lillian uncomfortable. âIâm Lillian Quinn, the woman Callum loves and the mother of the future heir of the White family.â
Lillian didnât bother being polite either.
A trace of disgust flashed in Veronicaâs eyes. Obviously, she didnât expect Lillian to say such shameless words. In her eyes, Lillian was an ordinary-looking woman with no family background, so she couldnât understand why Callum would publicly declare the future heir of the White family.
âI have something to say to Callum alone. Please donât disturb us,â Veronica said to Lillian arrogantly.
Before Lillian could say anything, Callum had already spoken up. âI donât think I have anything to say to you, Ms. Turner.â With that, he prepared to leave with Lillian.
Veronicaâs voice suddenly sounded. âCallum, if you leave now, then youâll definitely lose at tomorrowâs board of directors meeting!â
Callum paused and turned around to look at Veronica coldly, âIt seems that the Turner family has also gotten involved. I wonder how many shares the Turner family holds?â
âAll you need to know is that itâs not little.â Veronica raised her chin and said, âI can forget about what happened before. As long as you agree to be with me, I can tell my father to let you keep your position in White Maple Group.â
Callum pursed his thin lips, his eyes darkening. Lillian, who was standing next to him, suddenly stiffened as she was reminded of what had happened back then.
Years ago, Madeline had used the same tactic to force Callum. But now Lillian knew that Callum had only made such a choice then, not to gain power or status, but to save her life.
