Chapter 1015
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Callum said lazily, âI think we can skip the apology. Since you just said that your child canât study in the same classroom as Aiden, you can transfer to another school. This way, you wonât have to stay in one classroom.â
The couple and their child were dumbfounded. They had never considered transferring to another school. They had been making annual donations to this school. If they transferred, their previous donations would be in vain.
At this moment, the principalâs eyes turned sharp when he saw Rosalie. âMrs. Youngblood, why are you also here?â
âOh, Iâm the godmother of this child. My godson got into trouble, so, of course, I should come to see what was going on,â Rosalie said.
The principal was dumbfounded, âIs this child you and Mr. Youngbloodâs godson?â
âYes, my husband likes this child very much,â Rosalie said.
As for the couple, when they heard âMr. Youngblood,â they were shocked. In Strico, there was usually only one man who would be called âMr. Youngblood,â and looking at the principalâs respectful attitude, that âMr. Youngbloodâ was most probably referring to Jonathan.
Thinking of this name, the couple exchanged helpless glances, feeling bitter.
If only they had known about this child and that he had ties to the White Maple Groupâs Chairman Callum and the Youngblood familyâs Jonathan. They should have befriended him properly to establish connections with both the White family and the Youngblood family.
Alas, now they had created an enemy!
The homeroom teacher, on the other hand, seemed to remember who âMr. Youngbloodâ could be. Her face turned pale, and her body trembled uncontrollably.
She thought, âWhat have I done?â The homeroom teacher wanted to slap herself right now.
The commotion came to an end. Rosalie and the rest left the school. She took Aiden and Amelia to the hospital to schedule a new cochlear implant for Aiden. Lillian returned with Callum.
On the way, Lillian appeared preoccupied.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you still thinking about Aiden?â Callum asked.
Lillian nodded. âYes. I didnât expect some children to be so unkind nowadays. Aiden might have a problem with his hearing, but that has been corrected with the cochlear implant. He can communicate just like any other child. In fact, heâs even smarter than most.â
âSome people will always look at others with different eyes when it comes to imperfections. But you shouldnât dwell on it,â Callum said. âWhen they transfer to another school, it will serve as a warning.
There wonât be discrimination against Aiden anymore.â
âBut I think there will still be people who look at Aiden strangely, even though heâs clearly more talented than most children,â Lillian said, her hand on her pregnant belly. âI⦠I donât know if our child will be completely healthy.â
Even through prenatal checks, some issues couldnât be detected until the child was born.
âOur child will be fine,â Callum reassured her.
âButâ¦â
âEven if there were any problems, I would ensure our childâs safety,â Callum promised. He was confident in himself.
âOkay, donât think too much about it. Whatever happens in the future, Iâll be there,â he said, comforting her with a voice that was gentle but full of strength.
As long as he was there, she wouldnât be afraid of anything!
On the other side, Rosalie took Aiden and Amelia directly to a nearby hospital. The doctor examined Aiden, and his injuries from the fight were superficial. However, the cochlear implant, even with an expedited reservation, would still take a week to be ready.
10:00 Aiden couldnât hear anything for that week.
Rosalie considered the situation and said to Amelia, âAiden should take a leave from school for a week.
Once the new cochlear implant is ready, he can return to school with better convenience. If he goes to school now, it will be challenging to follow the classes.â
Amelia nodded and said, âThatâs the best option. Iâll give you the money for the cochlear implant tomorrow, but Iâm afraid it might still fall short. I mightâ¦â
Before Amelia could finish, Rosalie interrupted her. âIâm Aidenâs godmother, and this cochlear implant is a gift from me to my godson. You donât need to give me any money, Amelia. Thereâs no need to do this.â
Ameliaâs eyes turned red.
At night, in their small home, Amelia looked at her sound-asleep son and said to Matilda, âMom, did I make a mistake?â
âWhat did you do wrong? Aidenâs injury today had nothing to do with you,â Matilda comforted her.
âI gave birth to him, but I canât provide him with a good life. I took medication during pregnancy that caused his deafness and subjected him to discrimination. I forced him to stay with me, but I couldnât become his strong support,â Amelia said bitterly.
Todayâs events in the school administration office made her realize how much injustice her son had been facing at school.
She had never heard him mention it before.
If it werenât for Callumâs intervention, or if Rosalie hadnât been the wife of Jonathan, the situation might not have been resolved so easily.
Although she had never envied power or status, sometimes the gap in status and power was so evident! âIf Aiden had stayed with Warren, he would be the young master of the York family. No one would dare to discriminate against him, right?â Amelia mumbled.
T Matilda paused for a moment, then seemed to realize something. âYou⦠youâre not thinking of giving Aiden to Warren, are you?â
Amelia was silent.
But her silence conveyed her true thoughts to Matilda. âHow could you think of giving Aiden to Warren?
Aiden has always disliked Warren. Besides, if it werenât for him, you wouldnât have gone to prison, and Aiden would still have his hearing.â
âBut Aiden is the only child in the York family right now. At least, Warren has only one child so far. If Aiden were in the York family, they would provide him with enough protection, and heâd have a better future than staying with me.â
The wealth and status of the York family were something she couldnât provide for her son.
âBut Aiden has a disability, and families like the York family wouldnât want him. Warren can find a wife and have healthy children,â Matilda said.
