Chapter 1034
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Moreover, according to the investigation conducted by someone Warren had sent to Aidenâs school, there were many students who discriminated against Aiden because of his hearing impairment.
Those who discriminated against Aiden only knew that Amelia had been in prison. Even though he had already overturned her case, many people would still keep on discriminating against Aiden regardless of whether the case had been misjudged.
And what pained Warren the most was that he had brought those discriminations upon Amelia and Aiden himself.
âDid you find out anything about Irene?â After going through those documents, Warren opened his mouth again and slowly asked the person in front of him.
âIrene has been released from prison. She came to Strico a few days ago. We havenât found out where she is yet, but she probably hasnât left Strico,â the person said.
Warrenâs eyes turned cold. âThen find her. We have to find her even if we have to turn Strico upside down!â he uttered.
âItâs all because of Irene. If she hadnât interfered in the first place, would Amelia and I not have come to this stage?â he thought, âFive years in prison is too good for her!â
He suspected that Irene came to Strico with malicious intent right after her release. He was determined to let Irene continue to pay for what she had done back then.
When Amelia went to the small commodity market for stocking again, she paid a visit to Lucasâ stall and saw Lucas talking with his employees. Upon seeing Amelia, he hurriedly came forward. âAre you here to replenish your stock today?â He asked as he glanced at the bags in her hands.
âYeah, Iâve finished restocking, and I thought Iâd drop by to see you.â Amelia said, âDid those two people give you any trouble after you helped me with my tricycle last time?â
âNo, that auto shop has been rectified recently. Two security guards and an administrator of the market were taken to the police station. It is said that they have interests in that auto shop. No one dares to think of doing 09:05 those things anymore these days,â Lucas said.
âThatâs good.â Amelia smiled, then took out a headdress flower and handed it to Lucas. âThis is a headdress flower I bought for Nadine. You can put it on her after braiding her hair.â
âNo, I canât accept this,â Lucas said hurriedly.
âYouâve helped me so much. Iâm just getting a little something for Nadine. You donât have to feel embarrassed. Besides, she is very delightful,â said Amelia.
âWell then, thank you,â Lucas said and accepted the headdress flower.
When Amelia was about to leave, Lucas quickly said, âLet me help you bring these things to your car.â
Then, without waiting for Amelia to respond, he took the large bags from her hand.
Seeing this, Amelia smiled.
The two of them walked to the parking lot outside the market together. Lucas then placed all the bags on Ameliaâs electric tricycle one by one.
âBe careful on the road. Donât ride too fast,â Lucas reminded her.
âAlright. You should go back now.â Amelia said as she left on her electric tricycle.
Lucas looked at Ameliaâs retreating figure for a while before turning back and walking toward the market.
A black sedan was parked not far away. Warren sat in the car and watched Lucasâ figure with sullen eyes, his face gloomy.
After Lucas returned to his stall, his employee said curiously, âBoss, who was that woman just now?
She looks good. She seems like a gentle woman. Sheâs the owner of the electric tricycle you repaired last time, right? You even handed it to her personally after fixing it. Could she be our future lady boss?â
âBack off, you guys,â Lucas chuckled.
âFuture lady boss, huh. Speaking of which, Amelia is indeed a great woman. If I could live and strive together with such a woman, perhaps my life would get better,â he thought.
However, he was aware that Amelia only treated him as a friend. Deep down, she had always loved someone named Warren York.
It was just that Warren had hurt her so deeply that it left her disheartened.
Just as Lucas was musing, he suddenly heard his employee exclaim at the door of the store. âWhat can I get for you, sir?â
He looked up and was stunned when he saw the tall figure walking to his stall.
It was Warren!
Even though it had been many years since they last saw each other, Lucas could still recognize the man at a glance. After all, such a man with an outstanding appearance was bound to leave a deep impression on people.
Warren walked up to Lucas and fixed his cold gaze on him. At the thought of the scene where Amelia walked out of the market with Lucas smiling and laughing, he felt a weight and stabbing pain in his chest.
His breathing became heavy as if there were countless needles continuously pricking his chest, making him uncomfortable.
Perhaps, he was jealous. Very jealous.
She could eat together with Lucas, chatting and laughing, yet she didnât want to spend a single minute with him as if she felt disgusted for spending time with him.
âMr. York, what can I do for you?â asked Lucas.
Warren glanced at him coldly and said, âYou remember me.â
âI think itâs hard not to remember someone like you, Mr. York,â Lucas replied.
âLetâs go out and have a chat. After all, this is not a good place to talk,â said Warren.
Lucas pondered for a moment, then said, âOkay. Letâs go talk outside. There is a diner next to the market with private rooms. We can talk there.â
Warren did not say anything more. He turned around and walked out of the stall, and Lucas followed him.
They went to a private room in a nearby restaurant and ordered two cups of coffee.
Lucas looked at the man in front of him. The man was dressed in a suit, with slicked-back dark hair, revealing his full forehead. His cold and handsome face was adorned with delicate facial features and exuded an air of nobility. Even though he was just sitting there, he emanated an aura of elegance.
Such a man could easily capture many womenâs attention. It was natural for Amelia to fall in love with him.
âWhat would you like to talk about, Mr. York?â Lucas asked.
Warren chuckled, âDo you think thereâs anything else we can talk about besides Amelia?â
Hearing this, Lucas laughed at himself and said, âRight. So, what do you want to talk to me about Amelia, Mr. York?â
When he heard the word âAmeliaâ come out of Lucasâ mouth, Warren frowned and found it extremely stinging.
âYou canât call her that!â Warren uttered icily.
Lucas said with noncommittal politeness, âAmelia has never told me that I canât call her that, so I donât see anything wrong about it. As for you, Mr. York, what right have you to tell me not to call her that?â
