Chapter 1049
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
If she hadnât interfered, the incident last night wouldnât have happened.
âBut Iâm glad you brought me here,â Warren said softly, lowering his head, his face enlarged in front of Ameliaâs eyes. âIf you hadnât brought me here, we wouldnât have been so intimate last night⦠as intimate as we used to be.â
Smack!
She suddenly raised her hand and slapped him hard.
Warrenâs cheek turned slightly to one side, bearing a red mark.
He seemed unfazed by the pain and continued, âIf you think one slap isnât enough, you can keep going.
But, Amelia, no matter what, you canât deny that last night, you had feelings for me. In the end, you were desiring me. When I was drunk, I still remember the things you said⦠you said you wanted me, you saidâ¦â
âStop! Stop!â Amelia covered her ears abruptly, not wanting to hear more. His words only dragged her back to that time, making her feel even more miserable.
She didnât want it, but her body refused to listen to her brain. Even after years later, he was still familiar with her body. It was ridiculous but sad.
He pulled down her hands and continued to whisper the same thing he said yesterday, showing his affection.
âAmelia, since you have feelings for me, donât resist me, okay? Iâll be nice to you. I promise wonât hurt you again this time!â
Amelia laughed suddenly, tears welling up in her dark eyes. âYou think I wanted what happened last night? It was nothing but forcefulâ¦â
âWarren, have you ever experienced being overpowered by someone elseâs strength, unable to resist, no matter how hard you struggled?â she accused, her voice rising. âThat sense of humiliation, have you felt it?â
Warren stared at her in a daze, frozen in place.
âYou think everything that happened last night was because I had feelings for you? But for me, it was just humiliation because I couldnât resist. Even if it wasnât you, if it were any other man, I would have reacted the same way!â
Her accusations and tears were like the sharpest sword, piercing his heart.
âHumiliation⦠Everything from last night, was it really just humiliation for you?â he asked in a whisper.
âIsnât it? Do you think I willingly went through all that with you?â she retorted sarcastically. âWarren, youâve hurt me over and over. How many times do you think you need to hurt me before itâs enough?â
His face turned pale, and even the color on his lips seemed to fade away.
He trembled slightly and gazed at her with a determined look. âTell me, didnât you feel⦠a little pleasure last night?â
âNo,â she replied without hesitation. âEverything from last night was just a nightmare for me.â
âA nightmare?â He chuckled bitterly. It was a beautiful dream for him, but a nightmare for her.
His fingers slowly reached for her face, mere inches away from touching her cheek.
Alas, she turned her face away, clearly resisting.
His hand seemed to freeze in mid-air, unable to move forward.
Despite their physical closeness, he felt like there was an insurmountable distance that no amount of effort could bridge.
âWhat do I need to do for you to give me even a little affection? I⦠just want a littleâ¦â he pleaded.
âNo matter what, itâs impossible,â she ruthlessly rejected. âWarren, Iâve said it before. Itâs already over between us. Letâs treat what happened yesterday as if it never happened. Forget anything ever happened, and I will forget it completely.â
Pain filled his eyes as he knew he couldnât forget it.
Warren suddenly seemed to lose all his strength, stumbling backward.
Amelia took a deep breath. âI hope you wonât come to the store anymore. If thereâs anything related to Aiden, you can contact me by phone. Letâs end it here.â
After saying this, Amelia turned and left, leaving Warren standing alone in the room. His mood was completely different now.
When the sound of the door closing echoed, Warren collapsed to the floor, his hands clenched tightly into fists, pounding the ground heavily.
âAh⦠Ah⦠Ah!â He let out painful screams.
Amelia returned to the store. Seeing her, Matilda asked nervously, âSo, why did he come to see you?â
âItâs nothing,â Amelia reassured her mother, âI just talked to him and told him not to come to the store anymore. Thereâs no future between us.â
Matilda hesitated for a moment and said, âIt had been years, but he is still unmarried, and there is no other woman. Maybe he reallyâ¦â
âMom!â Amelia interrupted, understanding what her mother was trying to say. âIf I were really with him, every time I saw him, I would be reminded of the past. That way, I can never escape from it.â
Hearing this, Matilda said nothing more.
In the following days, everything was calm. Warren didnât come to her place again, and Lucasâ ex-wife didnât come to harass her either. According to Lucas, his ex-wife had initially been determined to take over his stall, but suddenly changed her mind and stopped coming.
On the weekend, when the small store was relatively quiet, Rosalie hosted a meal, inviting Amelia and Lillian for a get-together. It was a chance for the three women to catch up.
Lillian was eight months along, and she seemed blissful. Her face was noticeably rounder, a result of the care and feeding from Callum.
âAre you thirty-three weeks along?â Rosalie asked.
âYeah, after the baby is born, I want both of you to be the godmothers!â Lillian said with a smile.
âDo you know if itâs a boy or a girl?â Rosalie inquired further.
Lillian shook her head. âCallum and I think itâs better to wait until the baby is born. Letâs keep it as a surprise.â
Amelia looked at Lillianâs pronounced baby bump and sighed, âTime flies. Before you know it, your child will be born.â
