Chapter 1091
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Rosalieâs expression grew increasingly solemn. After all, witnessing Felix telling lies was the last thing she wanted.
âBut nothing is certain yet. Iâll have someone check the house later to see if anything is making a sound. Maybe we all missed something,â Lillian suggested.
âAre you telling me that the three of us and Aiden all missed it?â Rosalie found the probability too small.
Lillian chuckled, âWell, I know you donât want it to be Felixâs doing, but what if he really did it? Maybe he didnât intend to push Aiden down the stairs, but just wanted to startle him. After all, kids often donât think about the consequences of their pranks!â
Rosalie let out a sigh. âIf Felix is truly responsible for this, and the âsoundâ was just his fabrication, perhaps we need to follow Jonâs suggestion and return him to Wyatt. Those might be the best course of action,â she pondered.
As night descended, Felix lay curled up on his bed, feeling the weight of the past two days when Jennifer hadnât spared him a single glance. Despite sharing the same dining table, she treated him like he was invisible.
The manorâs housekeepers had observed it all, and their disdainful looks spoke volumes. Even when some of their children bullied him, the housekeepers, who used to scold and intervene in the past, now turned a blind eye.
The news of him allegedly pushing Aiden down the stairs had spread like wildfire within the manor. The housekeepersâ children had started hurling insults at him, urging him to leave the house.
âIs Jen giving up on me? Does she no longer want to play with me?â Huddled under the covers, Felix felt a chilling isolation. Memories of when he and Jennifer shared a bed, with him spinning tales, flooded his mind, and a longing for those days enveloped him.
These days, he immersed himself in continuous piano practice, hoping to play better, more intricate melodies to win more of her affection.
âBut now, all she does is glare at me furiously, as if Iâm some devilish child! In her eyes, I must be despicable,â Felix mused sadly, huddling his small frame even tighter, seeking comfort from the loneliness that had taken root.
The next day, in kindergarten, Felix summoned his courage and confronted Jennifer. âJen, please donât ignore me.â His pitiful tone and look made him look like an abandoned puppy.
Jennifer looked at Felix and said, âThen why did you have to push Aido down the stairs?â
âI didnât push him down the stairs. I⦠I just heard a sound coming toward him, and I wanted to push him away. I didnât mean to push him down the stairs,â he explained.
âYouâre not telling the truth. Aido said he didnât hear any sound!â Jenniferâs frustration increased.
Felixâs face turned extremely pale. âI⦠I didnât lie. Itâs true⦠There was a sound. And, by the way, doesnât Aiden have a hearing problem? Maybe he couldnât hear the soundâ¦â
âAiden was wearing his hearing aid that day. He could hear any sound if thereâs any!â Jennifer countered. âFelix, you refuse to admit your mistake and lie to me. I hate you!â
After saying this, she turned and ran away, leaving Felix alone in a daze.
âShe⦠hates me now?â Suddenly, he felt an overwhelming sense of discomfort. âIf she despises me, whatâs left of me?â he wondered aloud.
Guillermo stood not far away, his eyes resembling Jonathanâs, deep in thought as he stared at Felix.
Throughout his day in kindergarten, Felix found himself in a haze. Jenniferâs âI hate you!â echoed repeatedly in his mind.
âI donât want her to hate me! Iâll do anything to make her not hate me anymore.â Felix was determined.
As the school day ended, Rosalie, occupied with some matters, entrusted the task of picking up the three children to Gary. The kids sat in the minivan, and on the way home, Felix tried to steal glances at Jennifer. However, she remained unresponsive, engrossed in conversation with Guillermo about things in their kindergarten.
Upon returning to the Youngblood residence and getting out of the car, Felix cautiously grabbed Jenniferâs sleeve and said, âIf⦠if I apologize to Aiden, you wonât hate me anymore?â
âThen youâre willing to admit that you deliberately pushed Aido downstairs and lied on purpose, right?
Jennifer asked.
Felixâs small body stiffened, and his face turned red, but the word âyesâ couldnât escape his lips. He thought indignantly, âI didnât do it, and did not lie. Why should I admit to something I didnât do?â
Observing Felixâs reluctance, Jennifer angrily shook him off and walked towards the manor.
Felix, with his head down, followed slowly behind. âIâve messed up once more. If I had said âyesâ earlier, maybe she wouldnât be angry. If I admitted everything and apologized, she wouldnât hate me anymore, right? We could return to the way things were before!â His mind swirled with such thoughts.
At that moment, a small stone suddenly struck Felix, causing him to halt in pain as he covered the spot where he was hit.
âYour mom is evil, so you must be evil, too!â
âYeah, why donât you just leave? Are you going to push us down the stairs in the future? Oh no, weâre so scared!â
âWhat are you staring at? We hit you, so what are you going to do?â
Several older children of the manorâs housekeepers were nearby, and one of them picked up a small stone from the ground, hurling it at Felix once again.
The stone hit him once more, causing him pain.
He glared fiercely at the group. âI didnât push anyone downstairs!â
âStill not admitting it? So shameless!â
âYouâre a lying expert!â
âThatâs right. The young miss herself said that he pushed Aiden downstairs!â they chimed.
Then, another child picked up a stone and threw it at Felix.
Felix evaded the hurled stones, but despite his efforts, several still found their mark. âIt hurts!â he cried out inwardly, the pain biting into him.
âI-didnât push anyone! I didnât!â Felix vehemently denied.
However, his denial had no effect whatsoever.
He charged forward, wanting to confront the children who threw stones. at him.
But they were all older than him, and he didnât stand a chance. In the end, he was knocked down by them.
âYouâre still lying. Admit it now! It was you! Your Mommy does bad things, and so do you! Admit that you pushed Aiden downstairs!â The children taunted Felix as they continued to attack him.
