Chapter 1108
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âBy the way, whatâs your name?â Rosalie asked.
âBoven Woolbright,â the little boy replied truthfully.
Yasmin enjoyed burping and fell asleep soon after.
The little boy reluctantly returned Yasmin to the housekeeper before standing up and saying, âGoodbye.â
âAre you going back on your own? How about I drive you home?â Rosalie asked.
Lillian said, âThereâs no need. Someone is coming to pick him up. Donât worry. Those people in his family love him.â The last time around, she also planned to send the boy back. As soon as she reached the door of her house, she saw a row of cars parked outside the door just to fetch the boy from the Woolbright family.
It was estimated that at that moment, a row of cars was already parked in front of her house.
After Boven left, Rosalie asked Lillian, âBy the way, have you found out who was behind the toxin injection?â
âCallum said that he had some answers. Heâs still finalizing the information now,â Lillian said.
âWhere is he? Heâs not at home today?â Speaking of Callum, Rosalie remembered that she had been there for a long time and had not seen Callum. It was a holiday, and Callum would typically stay with Lillian at home.
âHe has something to do. He went abroad and would return in a couple of days,â Lillian said.
Meanwhile, Callum, who was being talked about by the two women, walked to an old castle. The security guards were from Strico. Apparently, they knew him. When they saw him, they respectfully opened the door and greeted him. âMr. White.â
âWhereâs my mother?â Callum asked expressionlessly.
âMrs. White went to a banquet. Iâm afraid she will only return later,â the security guard answered.
Callum walked into the castle and sat on the couch in front of the fireplace, looking at it blankly.
This was once his home, where he and his mother lived together.
Back then, in that castle and in front of the fireplace, his father wanted to take him back to the White family. His mother hugged him tightly and said to his father with tears flowing down her face, âHe is my son. I have nothing but this son. Heâs everything to me!â
At that time, he thought he was really his motherâs everything. However, he and his mother obviously had a different understanding of the definition of that word.
âNow, our relationship is ruined. Maybe our relationship was doomed ever since then,â he thought.
Callum slowly closed his eyes and waited quietly.
After a long time, there were footsteps, and then a female voice sounded. âWhat? Do you finally have the time to visit your own mother? I thought you had a wife and had forgotten about your mother!â
Those sarcastic words were spoken by Ysabel.
Callum slowly opened his eyes, stood up, and turned to look at his mother.
Ysabel was dressed elegantly. Even abroad, she wanted to live the best life.
In fact, as long as his mother did not hurt Lillian, he could naturally satisfy her. She wanted an extravagant life with men around her. He could give her whatever she wanted.
However, no matter how much he satisfied her needs, she still kept testing his limits.
Callumâs cold eyes made Ysabelâs sarcastic words get stuck in her throat.
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â Ysabel suddenly felt uneasy.
âDid he suddenly show up because of the thing I did? No. That canât be. I was so secretive that no one would find out about it. Even if he were to stumble upon some clues, he wouldnât know it was me,â she thought.
âI thought you and I would have no issues after you came here. I thought I could satisfy all your needs for the rest of your life. It seems that Iâm still too naive,â Callum said indifferently.
His flat voice seemed to have withdrawn all his emotions.
âDid you think I could live a good life after you drove me abroad?â Ysabel suddenly sneered, âFor the sake of a woman, you humiliated me. I gave birth to you and raised you. Is this how you repay me? Did you think you could repay me by giving me some money?â
âYes. Money isnât all that you want. You want something more than money, and thatâs power. You want others to listen to you and flatter you. Perhaps thatâs because youâve suffered humiliation in the first half of your life. You canât wait to let everyone know you live better than them. You want people to know that you can now easily deal with those who once looked down on you, right?â Callum asked.
âIs there anything wrong with that?â Ysabel asked. âI worked hard to make you the head of the White family. I deserve to get what I want. Yet, you drove me away because of a woman!â
âYes. Thatâs true. But this woman is more important than my life!â Callum said, âI also told you not to lay a hand on her, but you did it anyway, didnât you?â
Ysabelâs heart skipped a beat. âWhat do you mean?â
âDo I have to make myself clearer? Didnât you cause Lillian to have a difficult labor? You almost made me lose my wife and daughter. I almost ended up living in hell. The person who caused all this is my own mother!â Callum fumed.
When all the evidence at his hand pointed to his mother, there was only an indescribable sadness in his heart.
âDid you really think of me as your son? Or, all this time, I was just a chess piece in your eyes? My joy and sorrow didnât matter to you. What you wanted was a son who could be at your mercy, right? You knew once something happened to Lillian, I wouldnât be willing to do anything else. You thought you could return home and control everything in the White family. I was nothing but a puppet in your eyes,â
Callum added.
Callum had listed all of Ysabelâs schemes.
Ysabelâs expression finally changed. âIf Callum sounds so sure, he must have found enough evidence to testify against me,â she thought.
âYou made me do this! If you hadnât driven me here, I wouldnât have done that!â Ysabel said ferociously.
âIâve never forced you. You want too much, and youâre too greedy!â
Callum added, âI used to care about our relationship. I wanted you to be safe and sound, but nowâ¦â
âWhat do you want to do now? Do you want to put your own mother in prison?â Ysabel asked.
