Chapter 1109
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Ysabel looked at her son mockingly. âOnce I go to prÃson, not only me but the White family and White Maple Group will also be put to shame. By then, White Maple Groupâs share price will plummet, and all the shareholders will suffer heavy losses. Do you think you can still keep your position as the chairman?â
Ysabel obviously had figured out a retreat for herself in a short time.
âYou can only let this matter slide. From now on, I will live my life here, and you will return to the White residence to live your life!â Ysabel said.
Callum said indifferently, âThatâs right. Youâll stay here and live your life, but from now on, you canât step out of this place!â
Ysabel was stunned. âWhat do you mean? Are you going to lock me up here? Are you going to detain your own mother?â
âItâs fine if you want to put it that way. From now on, you will spend the rest of your life in this castle and someone will take care of your daily living. However, you can forget about indulging in a life of luxury,â
Callum said.
Ysabel immediately said angrily, âYou have no right to lock me up. Iâm free to leave whenever I want. I wonât be detained by you!â
âIn that case, as long as you take a step out of this castle, the information about your crimes will be sent to the police immediately. Even if you are not in the country, extradition regulations can be implemented. In that case, you spend the rest of your life in jail. Youâre free to choose between these two options,â Callum said.
Ysabel said in disbelief, âNo⦠No! You wonât do that. Doing so will not benefit you or the White family.
Moreover, if you do this, the company will suffer heavy losses, and the reputation of the White family and you will also be tarnished!â
âI will!â Callum said firmly. âThatâs because Iâm not only the head of the White family but also Lillianâs husband and my daughterâs father. I should seek justice for them! If you donât believe me, you can try stepping out of this castle and see if I will live up to my word!â
His cold voice wasnât laced with any hint of hesitation, and his eyes were void of affection as he gazed at her.
It was as if their familial affection as mother and son had been gradually exhausted following the series of incidents.
Ysabel felt a chill traveling down her back. The chill was induced by fear. She was afraid of her own son.
That was because he was giving her the feeling that he would truly keep his promise after making the declaration at that moment.
âNo⦠âYou wonâtâ¦â she muttered, not knowing who she was trying to convince with her words.
Callum just stared at Ysabel coldly. âFrom now on, you will stay here for the rest of your life. I will come here in the future to collect your body, but if you step out of this place, then in the future, I will have to collect your body from prison!â
After saying that, Callum turned around and left without looking back.
Ysabel shouted, âIâm your mother! Iâm your mother! Are you going to do this to your mother? Where is your conscience?â
But no matter how she shouted, Callum never stopped!
For him, his mother had died long ago when she ruined all his happiness for money and power. To him, his mother had long been a goner.
Somehow, Lillianâs heart suddenly palpitated. She felt an inexplicable sense of discomfort in her chest.
After thinking for a while, she sent a message to Callum: [Have you finished handling matters on your end? When will you return home?]
After a while, her phone rang. It was Callum calling.
Callum said, âIâm already back, but there are still some things to deal with in the company. Iâm not going home tonight. Iâll go back tomorrow. You have a good rest, and donât be too tired!â
She said, âOh, okay. By the way, do you want to make a video call? Iâll let you see Yasmin.â Since Yasmin was born, Callum would video call her during lunch breaks from the office to see her daughter.
Lillian could even foresee how much Callum would dote on their daughter in the future.
But this time, Callum said, âNo need. Iâll go home tomorrow anyway, and I can see her tomorrow. I still have something to do now. Iâll hang up now.â After saying that, he ended the call.
Looking at the phone in her hand, Lillian felt somewhat uneasy.
She found his behavior a little peculiar.
Usually, he always clung to their daughter and was fond of seeing her. Yet, just now, his voice on the phone was a little strange, much vaguer than usual.
Lillian held the phone tightly in her hand, got up suddenly, and ordered the nannies, âTake care of the baby. Iâm going out for a short while.â
âOkay, Mrs. White,â the nannies answered quickly.
Lillian left in a hurry and ordered the driver to drive her to the company.
When she arrived at White Maple Groupâs company in Strico, Lillian quickly strode inward. As soon as the security guard saw Lillian, hè hurriedly came forward and greeted, âHello, Mrs. White.â
âIs the chairman in the company now?â Lillian asked.
âYes,â The security guard answered. Then, he followed Lillian to the elevator and helped her press the button.
Lillian entered the elevator. It was already evening, so there were not many people in the company except for some overtime and on-duty staff. When she arrived at the floor where Callumâs office was located, only one secretary was still on duty.
âIs the chairman in the office?â Lillian asked.
âYes,â the secretary said, but when she saw that Lillian was about to go in, the secretary hurriedly added, âBut the chairman gave the order to forbid anyone from disturbing him.â
Lillian was stunned for a moment, and her anxiety intensified because of the secretaryâs words.
âDonât worry. Iâll go in. Iâll shoulder the responsibility if anything happens. He wonât blame you!â Lillian said and walked toward the chairmanâs office.
The secretary didnât stop her anymore. She thought, âAfter all, Mr. White usually doesnât include Mrs.
White in his definition of âanyone.â
Lillian gently pushed open the door of the office, but to her surprise, it was dark in the office as all the lights were switched off.
She wondered shockingly, âDoes that mean Callum is not in his office?â
Lillian closed the door, groped for the switch on the wall with her hand, and directly pressed the switch to turn on the light.
Suddenly, the whole room lit up and a manâs angry scold echoed. âGet out! I told you that no one is allowed to enter without my permission!â
Lillian looked up and saw that Callum was not sitting on the desk at that moment. Instead, he was sitting on the couch in the reception area. His head was lowered, and he was giving off a gloomy vibe.
âWhatâs the matter? Are you in a bad mood?â Lillian said.
