Chapter 1158

Rosalie narrowed her eyes while Amelia said, “I told you last time that I would not be seeing her. As for what will happen to her, she naturally will go through legal trial.”

“But…” Ryan seemed to want to say more, but he was concerned something was not appropriate to be spoken out in the presence of Rosalie. “Mrs. York, can I talk to you in private?”

“No need for that. I don’t think you and I are close enough to do that!” Amelia refused.

Rosalie said to Ryan, “Stop harassing my friend again. Does Alicia think that someone must go and meet her if she wants to meet someone? It’s only because of Amelia’s kindness that she’s acting this way. But Amelia is done helping her. You can go ahead and tell Alicia that since she dared to do those things, she can stop thinking about avoiding a prison sentence.”

Rosalie could guess the reason why Alicia wanted to meet Amelia. Alicia wanted to see Amelia talk about the past and ask for Amelia’s forgiveness so that Alicia could be acquitted.

Amelia was soft-hearted and probably would forgive Alicia if she met the latter.

However, a woman like Alicia might continue to do evil against Amelia if Alicia was released.

“I know. Don’t worry, I won’t go and see her. As you said just now, I’m done being kind to her. The same goes for the feeling of gratitude I had for her. No more of that, too,” Amelia said.

Amelia’s eyes were red, so it was obvious that she had been crying.

Jonathan noticed Rosalie, her eyes brimming with tears as she searched for him.

Even though he was talking with Carlos about the work arrangement, he immediately stood up and hurried toward Rosalie. “What’s wrong?”

“No… Nothing. Did I interrupt your conversation? “How about I sit outside for a while, and you two talk first?” Rosalie said and was about to leave.

Jonathan suddenly stopped her. “No need. We’re done.” He gave a meaningful look to Carlos not far away.

Carlos immediately said, “Yes, Mrs. Youngblood. We’ve finished the conversation. You and Mr. Youngblood can continue to talk. I’ll excuse myself.”

After saying that, Carlos left the office quickly and gently closed the door on his way out.

Looking at Jonathan now, Carlos was a little emotional. No one could imagine that Jonathan, who had been cold and emotionally indifferent and acted as if no one could be part of his world, would love such a 2/4 09:05 woman so deeply.

It was Rosalie who changed Jonathan.

Meanwhile, in the office, Jonathan gazed at Rosalie and inquired, “What happened?”

“Let me hold you for a while.” She wrapped her hands around his waist, buried her face in his chest, and listened to his heart beating.

The steady and powerful heartbeat calmed her heart.

He quietly let her hug him as if she could hold him till the end of the world as long as she wanted to.

“Amelia… parted ways with Warren. I’m afraid she won’t be with Warren in the future,” Rosalie said gloomily after a long while.

Jonathan raised his eyebrows slightly. “Your eyes are red because of their business?”

“Amelia came to my office today, and I just knew she had made it clear to Warren in the hospital today. I thought that after this incident, Amelia would get together with Warren. After all, Amelia does love Warren. That time when Warren was on the operating table, everyone could see that Amelia was worried and afraid. But… in the end, she still chose not to stay with Warren.”

“That’s her choice.” Jonathan said, “All right, don’t be sad. I know Amelia is your friend, but we can only see one side of their story as an onlooker of their relationship. She must have felt that it was her best option if she had made such a choice.”

“Perhaps,” Rosalie whispered as she embraced Jonathan more tightly. “I’m just pondering why it’s so challenging for a couple to stay together.”

When she drove to the Youngblood Group from the concession stand, she remembered what had happened between her and Jonathan. Somehow, she felt an impulse to cry.

“If I had chosen to split up like Amelia did, would we…”
