Chapter 1201
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
The voice sounded menacing. Rosalie still frowned, exchanging a glance with Amelia. The staff member who led them there turned pale, as if realizing something, and hurriedly halted and intended to stop them.
However, Warren stepped forward first, blocking the staff member. Meanwhile, Amelia and Rosalie quickly walked towards Rileyâs ward.
âBut I still remember you. These dishes were specially prepared by the chef. You must eat them well!â
The womanâs voice continued.
Then came muffled groans and cries of pain.
When Amelia and Rosalie peeked through the small window on the door of the ward, their faces suddenly changed.
They saw a woman in white patient clothes being firmly held down by two figures wearing caregiver uniform. One of them was pressing the womanâs head into the food in front of her, making it unrecognizable.
The womanâs body and hair were covered in food, looking utterly miserable.
Not far away stood another woman, elegantly dressed and wearing delicate makeup. She was Harriet, Rileyâs half-sister from the same father but a different mother.
Amelia and Rosalie had researched and naturally knew what Harriet looked like.
The woman being held down in patient clothes, without a doubt, was Riley.
Amelia wanted to push the door open and enter, but the door was closed from the inside.
âOpen the door! What are you doing? How can you treat her like this?â Amelia shouted loudly.
The people inside were clearly startled: Harriet turned and saw Amelia and Rosalieâs faces through the window. She frowned and made the caregivers, who were holding Riley down, move the latter aside.
Then, Harriet dialed Rileyâs attending physician in the hospital. âWhatâs going on in your hospital? Why are people shouting outside the ward? Get them out of here immediately! I donât want any troubleâ¦â
She hadnât finished her call when the door to the ward was forcefully kicked open by Warren.
Amelia ran towards Riley, and Rosalie quickly followed. The two caregivers tried to block them, preventing anyone from touching Riley.
One of the caregivers even raised a hand to push Amelia aside, but was immediately forced away by Warren before she could touch Amelia.
âWho are you? Who let you barge into the patientâs room? Where are the security guards of the hospital?â Harriet yelled at the staff member who had brought Amelia and the others.
The staff member looked embarrassed. âMrs. Scott, they are friends of the Director. I⦠I just brought them for a tour of the hospital. I didnât expect to run into this.â
âI donât care who they are. Get them out of here right now!â Harriet said with a displeased face.
Amelia, however, was too concerned about Riley to pay attention to Harrietâs words.
The once radiant Riley was now in this state.
âRiley, itâs me! Itâs me!â Iâm Amelia. Do you remember? Look at me, tell me what happened! How did you end up here?â Amelia choked out.
Yet, Riley still kept her head down.
Harriet, in the meantime, understood from Ameliaâs words that these people were indeed Rileyâs acquaintances. However, Riley didnât react to anything, which was within Harrietâs expectations.
âIs this enough for you? Sheâs a mental patient. Except for family members, no one is allowed to visit. If you continue to stay here, Iâll call the police!â Harriet warned sternly.
âEven if sheâs a patient, you have no right to treat her like this. You treated her worse than an animal just now. Sheâs your sister!â Amelia glared at Harriet, her voice full of anger.
Harriet smiled slightly. âExactly because sheâs my sister, I want her to recover. What happened just now was a form of stimulating therapy. If you donât believe me, feel free to ask her attending physician! If you donât leave now, Iâll really call the police!â
As she spoke, she reached for her phone, ready to make the call.
Seeing this, Rosalie grabbed Ameliaâs arm. âAmelia, letâs leave for now.â
âButâ¦â
âDonât forget what you promised me when you came here!â Warren said, suddenly leaning in close to Amelia, speaking in a voice only they could hear. âStaying here wonât help. If you really want to help your friend, follow my instructions now.â
Amelia shivered. Then, with her hand being held by Warren, she left the ward. The door was closed again.
Harrietâs face was full of doubt as she thought, âWho are these three people? Mr. Wilson agreed to let them in. Iâm afraid they are not ordinary people. Riley even has such friends?â
âEven if your friends come to see you now, so what?â Harriet suddenly _smiled, walked up to Riley, and suddenly stepped on Rileyâs right hand, which was missing a finger.
Riley immediately let out a painful groan, but apart from that, she showed no other reaction.
Harriet looked at Rileyâs reaction with satisfaction, her lips curling up into a triumphant smile. âYou are now truly a mental patient. Youâll spend the rest of your life here!â
Riley just kept her head down, seemingly deaf to everything.
Amelia and the rest went out of the hospital and got in their car outside.
As soon as Amelia got in the car, she took a deep breath and said, âI⦠I want to save Riley. She was clearly being abused by her sister just now. Rosalie, Warren, I beg you, help me save Riley, please?â
Rosalie hurriedly comforted Amelia, âSince I came with you, I will definitely help you. But donât get too emotional, itâs not good for your baby.â
âOkay,â Amelia answered.
âAlright, today we saw Riley and Harriet. Next, weâll figure out how to meet Riley alone,â Rosalie said.
âIâll handle this matter,â Warren said.
Amelia was pleased to hear that, but then she asked, âWhen can we see Riley?â
âIâll arrange it as soon as possible. But remember, this isnât the York familyâs territory in Lommore.
Some things might require careful planning,â Warren replied.
When the three of them reached the hotel where they were staying, Rosalie said to Amelia, âI have something to do now. You guys rest early.â
