Chapter 1280
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âStop daydreaming.â Jonathan interrupted Calvin and threw him against the wall. âWhether you recognized Rosalie earlier or not, Calvin, you could never have been with her.â
âReally?â Calvin leaned over and pressed Jonathan against the wall defiantly.
The next second, they fought in the large office.
After Rosalie got the call and came to the office, she saw Jonathan sitting at his desk and Calvin on the couch. They both had cuts on their faces, and their hair and clothes were disheveled, which suggested that there was an ugly fight.
However, they were both obviously surprised by her arrival. Jonathan asked, âWhy are you here?â
Rosalie said, âThe secretary told me that she heard a âstrange noiseâ in your office but she didnât dare to interrupt you, so she called me. You guysâ¦â
âNothing. We just did a little exercise.â Jonathan smiled and said, âIâm calling the driver to drive you home first. The doctor said that your priority now is to have a good rest during your pregnancy.â
âI will, but I want to know why you fought first,â Rosalie kept asking.
Jonathan pursed his thin lips uncomfortably.
Seeing this, Rosalie turned to Calvin and asked, âDid you guys get into a fight about my pregnancy?â
Calvin hesitated for a while. He did come to Jonathan for her pregnancy at the very beginning, but that was not the reason they got into a fight.
However, Calvin felt he couldnât tell her face-to-face why he was fighting with Jonathan.
Therefore, Calvin stayed silent.
Rosalie took his silence as a âyes,â so she said, âI donât know what your thought is, Calvin, but Iâm telling you that Iâm the one who insisted on having this baby. I made the decision alone.â
âBut giving birth to this baby could harm your health. Are you going to 10:37 sacrifice yourself for him?â Calvin said angrily.
Rosalie was a little surprised. She guessed that Riley might not have told Calvin about the potential risk of her delivery, but she found that he was aware of her condition and the price she would have to pay to have the baby.
âIâm not sacrificing myself. Iâm not dying, okay? You know what, Iâm very glad that I can give birth to the baby,â Rosalie said with a smile.
While she was speaking, she stroked her belly with the loving look of a mother.
It wasnât until now that Calvin realized that he couldnât say more because Rosalie was determined to have the baby!
He thought, âDid she ever think about what Iâm supposed to do if something happened to her?
Does she know that all I want is for her to be safe? Iâll even sacrifice my life for her as long as she is safe.
Does she know how much I suffered after I learned that she had fallen into the sea and disappeared?
At that time, I felt like I was living in hell every day.
No, sheâll never know!
Because the person she loves is always Jonathan.
Jonathan is the one whoâs going to spend the rest of his life with her, and Iâm just nobody to her!â
âWhy, Rosalie? Why are you insisting on having this baby?â Calvin murmured.
âBecause this is me and Jonathanâs kid,â she said.
This short answer explained everything!
Calvin left. His neat suit was a little disheveled from the fight, and so was the hair on his forehead. The bruise on his face was very conspicuous.
Instead of driving his car, he wandered in the street, not knowing where he was going.
Now, looking at the dark road ahead, he felt as if it was telling him that his life was coming to an end.
He thought, âWhat have I done?
I tried so hard to forget Rosalie, but I just couldnât.
I wanted to be there for her to make sure she was safe, but it turned out that I couldnât do anything but watch her walk into the potential danger.
Did she know how heartbroken I was when she told me she was going to do anything to have this baby just because it was hers and Jonathanâs?
Isnât the answer clear? I know the only person she ever loved was Jonathan.
Iâm nothing more than a good friend from childhood, and she always treats me as nothing but a friend.
Itâs always been my unrequited love for her.
I knew this long ago, so why am I still so sad? I even feel like Iâm suffocating!
Suddenly, there was a muffled thunder in the sky.
Some people on the street took out their umbrellas while others ran towards the stores not far away, trying to avoid the coming downpour.
Calvin was the only one who continued to walk the streets as if he didnât care about anything.
Big raindrops began to fall from the sky and fell on his head, face, and body.
The rain got so heavy that it hurt a little when it fell on people.
However, Calvin wished the pain was more heavier because it might take his mind off the sadness for a while.
The pouring rain fell, and the people without umbrellas ran to take shelter. Only Calvin moved slowly in the rain.
He thought, âWhere should I go?
Where should I go without Rosalie?
How am I going to spend the rest of my life?â
Just then, an umbrella shielded him from the rain and stopped him.
He raised his head in a daze and looked at the small umbrella with a floral pattern above his head. It shielded him from the rain.
He turned around and saw a strange woman.
With a glance, he continued to walk forward.
However, beyond his expectations, the umbrella followed him.
Calvin turned around again, and only then did he see clearly who was following him.
It was a young woman with a round face, a small nose, perfect lips, and doe eyes like a deerâs. She wore a simple ponytail and ordinary casual clothes.
In Calvinâs eyes, this was just an ordinary woman. After all, he had seen too many women of all styles in the entertainment industry, and even countless beautiful women trying to hook up with him.
