Chapter 135
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
When Rosalie was with Zachary, he would always defend her every time she got into trouble.
She thought that she could rely on him forever, but later, she realized that she was wrong. In the face of a real crisis, he could withdraw his love for her at any moment.
The sad thing was that she was used to relying on him. Therefore, having no one defend her anymore, she felt desperate and miserable.
When she was tortured in prison, she felt so desperate that she almost thought of committing suicide several times.
If it werenât for Lillianâs frequent visits and encouragement to her, she would have died.
Thinking of her close friend, she felt deeply grateful.
Rosalie sighed and unbuttoned her costume. Just as she was about to take off the costume, she heard footsteps behind her.
Being alerted, she suddenly turned around and saw Jonathan walking into the dressing room.
There was no one in the dressing room because they were filming, but⦠âThis is the womenâs dressing room. Please get out,â she said with a slightly flushed face.
However, Jonathan approached her step by step and said, âWhat are you afraid of?â
âAfraid?â She was stunned and took several steps back slowly.
However, the more she stepped back, the closer he got to her. He didnât stop until her back was against the wardrobe of the dressing room.
He pressed his hands against the wardrobe and imprisoned her between his arms and the wardrobe.
âWhy are you so afraid of me defending you?â
He was a little confused about this. After all, other women would be overjoyed if he did the same thing for them. However, she was not like any of them.
Rosalie pressed her hands against Jonathanâs chest subconsciously and said, âGet out. Someone will come in soon.â
âNo one is gonna come in.â Jonathan sounded very sure.
âWhat made you say that?â she glared at him and said.
He said, âBecause no one can. My bodyguards are guarding the door outside. How do you think people are gonna get in?â
Rosalie was speechless. She didnât notice that there were bodyguards beside him just now.
âTell me, why are you afraid?â He asked the question again with his slender fingers tucking her hair behind her ears.
She was still wearing makeup on her face at the moment, so she looked fresher than usual, but he didnât think the style suited her well. When he got close to her, he could even smell the makeup.
He preferred her without makeup and the natural light fragrance on her body. He loved getting close to her to smell it.
Her almond eyes were the only ones that didnât look different with makeup on. Even when she glared at him with them, he thought she was cute.
Rosalie bit her lips and lowered her head, denying, âIâm not afraid.â
Jonathan pinched her chin gently with his fingers and forced her to look at him. âIâm asking why you feel afraid, not whether you feel that way.â
Apparently, he was sure that she was afraid.
Rosalieâs heart skipped a beat. âDid he sense my fear?â she thought.
His beautiful and deep eyes seemed to have looked into her soul.
âIâm afraid that I will get used to it,â Rosalie said awkwardly. âSome things become a habit after a lot of repetitions, but once Iâve gotten used to them, Iâll feel desperate when I lose them.â
âHave you ever been desperate?â he asked casually.
Rosalie took a deep breath, looked at his eyes, and said firmly, âYes, I have.â
He froze, and the faint smile on his face disappeared slowly.
âCan you go out now? I want to change my clothes,â Rosalie said.
Unexpectedly, Jonathan didnât leave. He stared at her with his dark eyes and stroked her face with his fingers as if he were thinking about something.
After a while, he said in a low voice, âIf I could make sure it would always be your habit, would you still be afraid?â
Rosalie stared at his face in a daze. For a moment, she didnât know how to answer him. She just felt that her heart was beating violently at this moment.
Rosalie changed her clothes with a flushed face in the dressing room. Although Jonathan had already left, she still felt the warmth left by his fingers on her face.
She didnât answer his question just now. She thought, âWhat did he mean by âit will always be my habitâ? Is he going to protect me forever? People like him didnât need to lie, so he might be serious about what he said. But what about the future? Who knows what heâll think in the future? Anyway, I never get him. Itâs better not to get used to relying on him.â
Rosalie convinced herself in her heart.
Jonathan stood by the door of the dressing room with his head lowered as if he was thinking about something. A bodyguard was standing behind him.
Suddenly, the bodyguard got vigilant and looked to his left, seeing a man coming towards them.
The bodyguard recognized hirn. It was Calvin Gunner, the famous man in the entertainment industry as well as one of Jonathanâs friends. Therefore, the bodyguard stood still and did nothing.
Calvin walked to Jonathan and said, âYou came here today to protect her, didnât you?â
Jonathan slowly raised his head and looked at the person in front of him with a smile. âYeah, so what?
What about you? What are you doing here?â
Calvin smiled slightly. When he learned that Jonathan was here, he guessed that Rosalie must be here too, so he hurried over to see what was going on.
Sure enough, there was a good show going on.
He thought Jonathan would be able to guess the purpose of his visit even if he didnât tell him âWhether you came here by accident or on purpose, you are not allowed to lay a finger on her. Sheâs mine,â Jonathan said lazily, looking careless, but his eyes were filled with seriousness.
âDo you care so much about this woman?â Calvin asked indifferently.
âYes, I do,â Jonathan said without hesitation. However, the bodyguard behind him was shocked. He thought, âDid Mr. Youngblood just say that he cares about a woman? Itâs the first time heâs said that.â
Even for his previous fiancée, Melanie, Jonathan never admitted that he cared about her.
Calvin was also surprised. Since he had known Jonathan for years, he knew that he seldom did that to a woman.
