Chapter 1381
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Rosalie shook her head. âIt doesnât hurt anymore. Iâm sorry for worrying again,â she said, gently stroking Jonathanâs cheek.
Jonathan gently rubbed her palm with his cheek. âI just want you to be fine. As long as you are fine.â
No one could imagine that Jonathan would act like a child who was afraid of losing his beloved one.
Rosalie was sent to the ward. She was so tired that she soon fell asleep.
âThank you very much,â Jonathan said to Amelia and Hanna.
Hanna waved her hand. âForget it. As long as Rosalie and her baby are fine.â
However, Amelia said apologetically, âIâm terribly sorry. Those people are after me, but itâs all my fault that Rosalie is in danger.â
âWell, Iâll ask someone to send you home. Donât worry about Rosalie. I will care for her,â Jonathan said, walking Amelia and Hanna out of the ward.
At that moment, they heard a scurry of footsteps. It was Calvin who rushed over.
His handsome face was full of anxiety, and his hair was a little messy because of running.
âIs Rosalie all right?â Calvin asked worriedly.
Jonathan raised his eyebrows. âItâs none of your concern. Rosalie is my wife.â
âYouâ¦â Calvin frowned. He stared at Jonathan and asked again, âTell me, is Rosalie fine?â
âS-Sheâs fine,â Hanna replied, hurriedly stepping forward. She didnât want the atmosphere to become too awkward. âWe were surrounded by several people while having lunch. Rosalie got frightened and her abdomen began to hurt.â
âSeveral people surrounded you?â Calvin was stunned. He continued without thinking, âSince youâre having lunch together, why didnât you protect Rosalie when those people came to you? Donât you know that she is pregnant? Sheâ¦â
Amelia Ìstepped forward and interrupted him, âEnough, Calvin! Itâs all my fault. If it werenât for Hanna, Rosalie would be in grave danger. If you want to blame me, just blame me. Donât blame Hanna! You can blame it all on me.â
âI-Iâm okay. He was right. Rosalie would not be in the hospital if I had done more to protect her,â Hanna said, tears welling up in her eyes.
âHanna!â Amelia wanted to say something more, but Hanna spoke first, âI-I have to go now. See you!â
Then she hurried to the elevator.
Amelia glared at Calvin, âEven if you are worried about Rosalie, you shouldnât have blamed Hanna. As her boyfriend, you should know her character well! Rosalie had been gripping Hannaâs wrist while she was in pain on the way to the hospital, leaving scratches on it, but Hanna never complained and even told us it didnât matter. I canât believe you chastised her instead of worrying about her as soon as you came here. Calvin, is this how you treat your girlfriend?â
Hearing Ameliaâs accusations, Calvin was rendered speechless, feeling embarrassed.
Everyone suddenly became silent.
Jonathan ordered the bodyguards to drive Amelia home. Then he turned to Calvin and said, âHanna is a wonderful woman. You should cherish her.â
âI know.â Calvin pursed his lips.
âBut you donât love her, do you?â Jonathan asked.
Calvinâs face suddenly changed. âWhat do you mean?â
âYou hurried over as soon as you heard Rosalie was in hospital. You then chastised Hanna. Anyone can tell that you donât love her!â Jonathan said mercilessly. âI can tell, Amelia can tell, and do you hope Rosalie can tell one day?â
Calvin suddenly stiffened at his words. âJonathan, what the hell do you know?â
âI donât know for sure, but I can guess it roughly, right?â Jonathan said. âBoth of us hope Rosalie can be well.â
Calvin suddenly became furious. âIf thatâs the case, why did you get her pregnant? You knew she almost died of giving birth to triplets. Why did you put her in grave danger again?â
Jonathanâs face flashed with remorse. Then he stared at Calvin and said seriously, âItâs indeed my fault, so I will live and die with her. If she canât make it, I will die with her!â
âYouâ¦â Calvin was shocked at first but quickly realized what he was saying.
If it were him, he would do the same thing.
âRosalie is not in good health now. She canât afford to experience any emotional fluctuations now. She must be on complete bed rest until labor begins. Calvin, now that Rosalie knew you had a girlfriend, you should finish what you started. I donât want Rosalie to be in danger again because of you!â
Jonathan said coldly.
After a long moment of silence, Calvin spoke again, âI want to see Rosalie.â
âOkay, but she is asleep now. Donât wake her up.â With that, Jonathan returned to the ward.
Calvin quickly followed up.
After entering the ward, tears stung Calvinâs eyes when he looked at Rosalie who was sleeping on the bed.
She looked so vulnerable with a pale face. It worried him that she could be in danger at any time before giving birth to the baby.
If she experienced intense mood swings again, it would put her and the baby in danger again.
He didnât want to risk her life again.
If his relationship with Hanna would put her in danger again, he was willing to fake it until he made it.
He was willing to do everything for Rosalie!
Jonathanâs voice sounded in the ward. âI hope you donât let her know what happened between you and Hanna. Even if it is a lie, do your best to make her believe it.â
Calvin slightly fluttered his eyelids and stared at Rosalie lying on the bed.
After a while, he said, âI know what to do!â
Hanna ran out of the hospital and got on the bus. Until then, tears began to stream down her face.
She didnât expect that she would cry.
She hurriedly wiped the tears off her face and tried hard to resist the urge to cry.
She knew that Calvin cared for and loved Rosalie very much. It was understandable that he said those words!
