Chapter 1413
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âBesidesâ¦â She paused. âThey had taken all the compensation when my parents died and even inherited a lot from my parents. They arenât really that poor. They are just too greedy.â
And she didnât want to fulfill their greed.
âAll right, letâs stop talking about it,â Hanna said, taking a deep breath to compose herself. âI need to continue working on the storyboard. If I donât finish it soon, Iâll have to stay up late tonight.â
Then she went back to the workbench and began to immerse herself in the storyboard.
Calvin looked at Hanna quietly and was lost in thought.
When Hanna finished drawing the storyboard, she noticed that it was already past 6 p.m.
âSorry, I didnât notice the time,â she apologized hurriedly.
âHave you finished it?â Calvin asked.
âYes.â
âLetâs go have dinner then. What would you like to eat?â he asked.
âHow about the diner near the studio? The one where we had our second meeting,â Hanna suggested.
Calvinâs eyes flashed slightly. The diner was a small pasta restaurant where Rosalie had worked before, and it held many memories of her.
âWhy do you suddenly want to go there for dinner?â he asked casually.
âMaybe itâs because thatâs where we decide to keep our relationship. It makes me feel⦠familiar and comfortable.â What she didnât say was that she usually went there alone for meals when she worked in the studio.
Every time she sat inside and had meals, she would think about the fate between her and him.
If she hadnât walked into the diner that day, maybe she and he would have missed each other.
Fortunately, she didnât miss him.
He pondered for a moment and then said, âOkay. Letâs go there.â
Because the diner was not far from her studio, they decided to walk there.
They went into the diner and ordered. Although their relationship had been a hot topic before, no one in the diner recognized Calvin, as he was not a celebrity himself.
However, sitting in such a diner, the clothes he was wearing and his temperament still drew occasional glances.
After a while, the dishes were served. Hanna lowered her head to have her meal. She hesitated for a moment and said, âAre you free next Wednesday?â
Calvin asked, âIs there something that day?â
Next Wednesday, there would be an important contract to be signed for a TV series project at his company.
She bit her lips slightly and said, âNext Wednesday is my parentsâ death anniversary. If⦠If you were free, could you accompany me to worship them? I⦠I want my parents to meet my boyfriend.â
She wanted her parents to know that she was not alone now. There was man with her, even if⦠She didnât know how long he would be with he but at least she was happy for now!
He fell silent.
She said hurriedly, âOf course. If you donât have time, it doesnât matter. I⦠Iâd better go by myself.
Anyway, I used to do it myself.â
âIâm available. I can go with you,â he said. âI was just thinking about what I need to bring if I go to worship your parents.â
She breathed a sigh of relief and said, âYou donât have to bring anything. Iâll prepare the candles and food for worship. You just need to be there.â
After saying that, she lowered her head and continued to eat.
Looking at her lowering her head, he felt a sense of sympathy. He suddenly realized that he was always cold and rarely sympathized with others.
But now he wanted to protect Hanna from any harm.
Warren quickly arranged a house to live in and asked Amelia to move there. According to Warren, since they were going to pretend to be a lovely couple in front of the reporters, it would be necessary to go all out.
Amelia also discussed this with her mother, but Matilda said, âYou can take Aiden and Zinnia to live there. Iâll stay here in this concession stand instead of moving there.â
âThat wonât work,â Amelia objected.
âWhy not? I still need to run this concession stand. And if I move in with you, considering that Warren and you are just pretending to love each other, I wonât get used to it. If we meet reporters or they take photos secretly, it will bother me even more. Iâd better stay here,â Matilda said.
Hearing this, Amelia bit her lips and said nothing.
In fact, she understood her motherâs concerns and embarrassment. The reason she and Warren lived together was not because they were in love, but because they were acting.
A marriage that would end sooner or later would make them more embarrassed if Matilda lived there and faced Warren all day long.
âThen call me every night before going to bed, or I wonât rest assured,â Amelia said.
âOkay, I will,â Matilda replied. Looking at Amelia pitifully, she said, âIâm worried about you. Now you come to live with Warrenâ¦â
âItâs not the first time weâve lived together. I used to live with him for a while!â Amelia comforted Matilda.
She continued, âOur marriage can only last another year or so. It will be over sooner or later. When we move there, I will bring Aiden to school and Zinnia here. We can run the stand together. Then, weâll be back after Aidenâs courses.â
âOkay, if you think itâs convenient for you,â Matilda said.
The next day, Amelia began to move.
But she only needed to bring some clothes and shoes, and some things belonging to the children. As for the necessities, Warren had already prepared them.
In the afternoon, after Aiden finished school, Amelia took Aiden and Zinnia to the residence prepared by Warren.
It was Warrenâs men who came to pick them up.
Amelia walked into the villa Warren bought in Strico with Zinnia in her arms and Aiden beside her.
In the huge villa, Warren looked at the three of them standing in front of him and asked, âDo you really not need me to hire a nanny to look after Zinnia?â
âNo, I can handle it alone,â Amelia said.
âAlright, itâs up to you,â Warren answered indifferently.
Aiden remained silent all the time. He had already known the agreement between Warren and Amelia.
He understood that his parents were just pretending to be a couple at present, and they would divorce in the future.
Although he no longer resented Warren, he would definitely choose Amelia if a choice between them had to be made. Aiden was determined to protect his mother!
