Chapter 1415
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Warren was a little stunned. He kept staring at Emma.
Since Emma was born, Warren had only shot her a few glances. He had never stared at her for a long time like this.
At the hospital, after Amelia gave birth to Emma, Emma stayed in the neonatal ward for a long time.
And Warren only took a few glances at her through the window.
Perhaps it was because Warren subconsciously thought the longer he watched the baby, the more emotionally attached he would feel to her and more reluctant to leave her.
Amelia said, âI am going to wash up. If she wakes up and cries, just hug her for a while. As long as she is hugged, she will soon stop crying.â
Warren frowned and thought, âHug this little baby?!â
Warren said, âOkay.â He didnât think he had ever hugged his daughter before.
Amelia went into the bathroom to wash up. After she finished it, she opened the door and heard her daughter crying. Warren was holding her in his arms looking helpless.
Amelia hurriedly stepped forward. As soon as Warren saw her, he said, âDidnât you say that she wouldnât cry if I hugged her?â
âUsually, she would. Maybe⦠itâs because she hasnât seen you a lot.â Amelia said, âBesides, maybe the way youâre holding her is wrong.â
Warren frowned, âWrong?â The little babyâs cry was resounding through the room. The babyâs crying face, which was so similar to Ameliaâs, made him feel even more exhausted.
Amelia stepped forward to teach him how to hold the baby. âYour hands should be like this⦠And hold her neck here. Babiesâ necks are very soft and weak. And if she cries too hard, you can do the belly hold. She likes it very much.â
Warren looked confused. âBelly hold?â
Amelia explained how to do the belly hold to Warren, âJust lay her with her stomach facing down on one of your forearms and hold her belly and neck with one hand and protectâ¦â
When Warren finally started to hold the little baby using the belly hold technique, the baby who had been crying finally stopped crying and giggled.
Obviously, the little baby enjoyed the belly hold very much.
Looking at the baby and her father, Ameliaâs eyes were suddenly wet. What had happened many times in Ameliaâs dreams unexpectedly came true when Amelia and Warren were doomed to divorce.
Warren suddenly felt something and turned around to Amelia.
Amelia hurriedly said, âKeep holding her. Iâm going to prepare the milk for her. Itâs about time for her to have the milk.â
Then Amelia hurriedly walked away, took out a tin of milk powder, and began to prepare the baby bottle.
After Amelia mixed the water and the milk powder together in the bottle, she waited until the temperature of it was just right. Then she walked to Warren with the baby bottle.
Amelia asked, âDo you want to try bottle-feeding her?â
Amelia wanted to ask him to give the baby to her and let her feed it at first. But somehow what she said was different than her original ides.
Warren seemed a little surprised. âMe?|
Amelia said, trying to take the baby from Warren, âWell⦠If you d want to do it, Iâll do it.â
But Warren didnât let go of the baby. Instead, he stopped the belly ho and sat on the sofa beside him.
He held the baby in his arms and reac out one of his hands to Amelia. âGive me the bottle.â
Amelia was stunned. Then she walked forward and handed the baby bottle to Warren.
Warren took the bottle and hesitated for a while. Then he put the soother into the little babyâs mouth gently, trying to feed it.
However, Warrenâs whole body was involuntarily stiff. Though it was just a simple position he couldnât stop being stiff.
It seemed like he was afraid that the little baby in his arms would be choked if he fed it too fast.
After all, a tiny baby like this looked so delicate and weak as if anything could hurt it at any moment.
Amelia watched Warren feed the baby gently. She thought perhaps it was somewhat beneficial to move there. At least, her daughter could feel the love of her father.
After the baby finished all the milk in the bottle, Amelia began to teach Warren how to burp a baby.
This time, Warren didnât hesitate at all. He held the baby upright and gently patted the baby on the back.
Again and again, the little baby fell asleep while Warren was burping it.
Warren carefully put the baby in the crib and covered it with a small soft quilt.
Looking at the baby, Warren felt his heart somehow softened.
In the past, Warren tried to make this baby be aborted by all means and even pressed Amelia against the operating table. But now, when looking at this little baby, he felt extremely complicated feelings.
If it hadnât been for this little baby, Amelia wouldnât have been in such a bad condition. And the donation of the liver wouldnât have happen twice.
Amelia murmured, âYou will be a good father.â
Warren turned to Amelia and said sarcastically, âBut Iâve never been good father. Have you forgotten that? I insisted that you abandoned kid.â
âBut in the end, you were completely prepared for me giving birth to th baby, wasnât you?â said Amelia.
Warren said, âSo, why are you telling me this now? You said that you were over us. Why telling me Iâll be a good father? What do you want?â
Amelia said, âIf I really want anything, that is a good relationship between you and Zinnia in the future.â
Warren simply said, âGo to bed now. I am going to wash up.â/
Amelia replied, âOK.â After Warren walked into the bathroom, lifted the Amelia quilt on the bed and lay on the bed.
Now, Amelia was alone in the bed, which made her feel less embarrassed.
Amelia closed her eyes and tried to sleep. When Warren came out of the bathroom, he saw Amelia lying on the side of the bed near the crib with her eyes closed and covered in a thin quilt. She seemed to be asleep.
Warren approached Amelia and leaned over her slightly. He looked at her fluttering eyelashes and blinked a little.
After a while, Warren straightened up and went around to the other side of the bed. Then he lay down and turned off the lights.
Immediately, the room was dark. Warren closed his eyes. He knew that the person lying beside him wasnât asleep.
