Chapter 213
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âItâs just that, who would do this?â The first person Rosalie thought of was Calvin.
After all, Calvin had every reason to delete these videos. Moreover, it was not easy for anyone to delete all the relevant content so quickly.
On the other hand, Jonathan was in front of the computer. He watched the video playing on the screen with a vicious look in his eyes.
If Rosalie saw this video, she would definitely cry out. This was the one Amelia mentioned, but it had been completely deleted online.
Jonathan watched the video quietly. When he saw Calvin squatting down to tie Rosalieâs shoelaces, his gaze darkened. His fingers on the table clenched tightly unknowingly.
He had known Calvin for a long time. Since he had returned to his birth family, the Youngblood family, he would naturally come into contact with Calvin.
The relationship between the Youngblood family and the Gunner family was good, so he had a good relationship with Calvin as well.
After all, in their circle, as long as there was no conflict of interest, it would be better to have one more friend rather than another enemy.
Even though this friend might not be sincere, at least he was a friend on the surface.
Therefore, he was considered familiar with Calvin. He knew how proud Calvin was. As for women, except for the person in his heart, the other women were just decorations. They exist only for him to express his longing for the person in his heart.
And the person in Calvinâs heart is obviously Rosalie. Jonathan pursed his thin lips while looking at Calvinâs gaze on Rosalie in the video.
Calvin probably still didnât know that Rosalie was the one he had been looking for! If he knew it, he wouldâve most probably done more for Rosalie.
If Jonathan hadnât seen Rosalieâs childhood photos, he wouldnât have thought that Rosalie was the one Calvin had never managed to find for so many years.
However, he wouldnât let Calvin know that Rosalie was the person he had been looking for.
Rosalie would forever be Jonathanâs. She would only stay by his side all her life!
Carlos peeked at Jonathan terrifyingly. When he was silent like this, his gloomy face made people feel scared.
âJonathan has watched this video so many times but he still keeps staring at it. Itâs not what I think it is, right?â Carlos didnât dare to continue thinking about it.
After all, if Jonathan got furious, the whole Strico would be thoroughly affected.
âDonât spare anyone who has troubled Rosalie today,â Jonathan instructed.
âUnderstood, Carlos hurriedly replied and breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Jonathan only wanted to deal with those who had troubled Rosalie.
He was really afraid that Jonathan would act on impulse and deal with Calvin directly.
If the Youngblood family and the Gunner family really went against each other, then there would not only be just two families involved, but a huge group of other people.
However, when Jonathan opened his mouth again, Carlosâ heart was thumping violently although it had been peaceful only a while ago.
âTell me.â Even though Jonathan was talking to Carlos, his gaze was still glued to the video on the computer screen. âDo you think Rosalie will be fond of men like Calvin?â
Carlos was almost choked by his own saliva and uttered quickly, âMs. Leighton is your girlfriend now.
How could she be fond of Mr. Gunner?â
âWhat if she is not my girlfriend? Will she fall for Calvin?â It seemed that Jonathan wanted to force out an answer from him.
âHow would I know such things?â Carlos exclaimed inwardly. But since it was Jonathan who asked the question, he had no choice but to answer, âIn my opinion, I think Ms. Leighton is actually quite conservative about feelings. Once she has fallen in love, sheâll not change her feelings easily.â
âYou think so? But she used to be Zacharyâs girlfriend,â Jonathan countered coldly.
Carlos was about to cry. He felt that he was really struggling as a secretary. âMs. Leighton and Zacharyâs relationship is in the past now. Since Ms. Leighton was betrayed by Zachary, there will naturally be no more feelings now.â
âBetrayed?â Jonathan raised his eyebrows slightly.
âDonât you think so? Zachary broke up with Ms. Leighton when she needed his help the most. Isnât that considered a betrayal?â Carlos stated, âThe Ms. Leighton I know will never forgive those who betrayed her.â
Jonathanâs face darkened abruptly after hearing Carlosâ statement. His thin lips almost pursed into a line. âIf what Zachary did was considered betrayal, how about all the things Iâve done to Rosie then?â
he wondered.
His heart felt so heavy, as if he was pressured by something until he almost couldnât breathe.
Jonathan raised his hand and wanted to take a sip of water from the glass. However, when he was picking up the glass, he noticed his hands were actually trembling violently.
No, not only his hands were trembling, but his whole body was shaking.
He couldnât hold the glass properly. In an instant, it slipped from his hand and fell onto the table. The water spilled all over the table.
Carlos was startled and suddenly as if he had realized something, his face turned a bit worried.
Jonathan looked down at the spilled water in front of him. After a while, he suddenly yelled, âCarlos, get out!â
âOkay,â Carlos replied and hurried out of the room.
Jonathan took a deep breath and leaned against the chair hard. His trembling hand was covering his face until the corners of his mouth could be seen only. Nevertheless, he was smiling.
Jonathan started chuckling at first. Then, he was laughing out loud and eventually, he was choking with laughter.
âIf I had known the decision I made would make her suffer so much, I wouldnât have done it anyway. If Rosalie knows what I did then, will she think that I betrayed her too?â Jonathan wondered.
When he thought of this possibility, his body seemed to tremble even more violently.
âThere are only a few people who really knew what happened back then. As long as they donât say anything, Rosalie will never know the truth,â Jonathan comforted himself.
âRosalie, please forgive me,â he murmured, suppressing a deep pain in his voice.
âNo matter how much I do to make up for it, Iâm not able to compensate you for the hardships you suffered then. If I had known that I would love you so much, I wouldnât have let you suffer at all!â he exclaimed inwardly.
When Rosalie returned to the Youngblood residence and entered the main building, it was dark inside.
As she was about to turn on the lights, someone suddenly hugged her from behind. She instantly fell into a familiar embrace.
The familiar smell made her know exactly who was hugging her.
