Chapter 26
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âHuh? Go back to the car?â The group leader was stunned for a moment. He did not expect the ring, which was worth tens of thousands of dollars, to be lost. On top of that, it seemed as if they did not plan to monitor the person looking for it.
âYvette is a celebrity. If she stands here and watches you looking for the ring, she will probably be surrounded by her fans in a short time,â said Meredith.
The group leader thought it made sense.
Yvetteâs car was parked not far away. Even if she sat in the car, she could easily see Rosalie rummaging through the garbage can in a mess.
Meredith smiled maliciously, âRosalie deserves it. She was so arrogant just now and sheâs now in the garbage pile.â
âLetâs go back after a while, Yvette said indifferently. Rosalieâs current look made Yvette feel less threatened.
Although Zachary once loved Rosalie, she was abandoned by him in the end eventually.
Yvette thought back to when Rosalie was in prison. Rosalie had insisted that she was wronged and innocent even though her fingertips were bleeding. She insisted even when the bones of her fingers were all broken!
This made Yvette feel that Rosalie was bothersome.
âWhy did that woman persist after suffering such pain? Did she believe that she could still be considered innocent if she insisted that she was not guilty? The law is backed by evidence!â Yvette thought.
âBy the way, letâs at least keep a memento, Meredith said as she picked up her phone to take a picture of Rosalie rummaging through the garbage can.
Rosalie had no idea when the farce would end, but she knew that it was impossible for her to get off work normally today. And she also involved Yulissa to accompany her to find the imaginary âringâ
Rosalie took off the plastic gloves, took out her phone, and made a call. âJon, itâs me. I have some work to do in the office today, so Iâm afraid Iâll be back late. You can prepare some food for dinner yourself.
Donât wait for me.â
âWhatâs the matter?â An elegant male voice sounded on the other end of the phone.
âItâs just⦠Well, itâs just some stuff at work. You donât have to wait for me anyway.â As she spoke, the group leader glared at her, so she ended the call hurriedly. Then, she put on the gloves again and continued to search in the garbage pile.
In the CEOâs Office of Youngblood Group, Jonathan ordered Carlos, âGo check what happened to Rosalie in the Environment and Sanitation Administration.â
Carlos hummed a response and left the CEOâs Office.
Contemplation flashed across Jonathanâs eyes. When he was on the phone just now, he felt that Rosalie seemed to be hiding something, but what could she be hiding?
Carlos did not spend much effort investigating the matter. He found out what had happened soon enough. He reported to Jonathan, âYvette said she lost a ring worth tens of thousands of dollars, so she called Parker, the chief officer of the Environment and Sanitation Administration. Parker asked Ms.
Leighton to rummage through the garbage at the scene to look for the ring.â
Carlos addressed Yvette by her name, but he addressed Rosalie with an honorable title, which showed their respective statuses in Jonathanâs heart.
Jonathan narrowed his eyes suddenly. âRummage through the garbage?â
Carlos was shocked by Jonathanâs cold voice as he replied, âYes.â
Jonathan asked with a sneer, âItâs just an insignificant ring. Is there a need to make her rummage through the garbage?â After he pondered for a moment, he said, âSince Yvette likes to look for the ring so much, then let her get what she wants! Iâll let her look for it to her heartâs content!â
Carlos had worked with Jonathan for many years, so he was aware that his boss was angry.
It was so strange. Over the years, there were only a few things that could make Jonathan angry, but at this moment, he became angry because of a woman.
Carlos secretly sighed in his heart as he thought, âIt seems that Rosalieâs position in Mr. Youngbloodâs heart is far more important than I thought.â
Yvette and Meredith, who were in the car, seemed to be satisfied and had enough of looking at Rosalieâs miserable state as she rummaged through the garbage. They intended to drive away.
âFor how long do you intend to have her looking for the ring?â Meredith asked.
Just have her look for it until I go to bed at night. Then Iâll call their chief officer again and tell them to forget it if they canât find the ring. Iâll consider myself unlucky.â Yvette said casually.
âHa-ha. Youâre going easy on her,â said Meredith. She continued, âI think Zachary will feel like vomiting when he sees her now. Rosalie is not a good match for someone like Zachary, only a socialite like you is worthy of him, Yvette.â
As soon as the red Maseratiâs engine was started, several police cars drove over suddenly. The next moment, the Maserati was surrounded by police cars.
The police got out of the car and knocked on the Maseratiâs window.
Yvette pressed the button to let down the car window. She heard the police say. âWe received a report that a ring worth more than 20,000 dollars was lost here. Now we are going to file a case for investigation to look into whether the ring belongs to anyone, or whether it was stolen by someone.
-âFile a case?â Yvette and Meredith were stunned.
âWe didnât call the police!â Meredith yelled.
But the policemen did not care about what they said. âSince it involves a value of more than 20,000 dollars, it is considered. a major case. We hope that both of you can cooperate. We hope to help you two to find the ring.â
The problem was Yvette did not lose her ring at all! They exchanged helpless glances. Yvette gritted her teeth and said. âIâm not bothered to look for the ring anymore. It doesnât matter if I canât find it.â
The police insisted, âIf this is a theft, the amount has reached the standard of criminal cases. It needs to be filed for investigation. Please leave the car and confirm the exact location where you noticed your ring was missing.â
Yvette and Meredith got out of the warm car. The cold wind was blowing, and they came to the place where they talked to Rosalie previously. But now, the place was full of garbage.
A lot of garbage that was originally in the garbage can was dumped out and piled up in the open air to make it easier to search for the ring.
The stench of garbage kept wafting over. Yvette and Meredith, who were dressed glamorously, stood in a pile of garbage. This made them look even more eye-catching, However, the police refused to let them leave and insisted on asking them to repeat the incident on the spot.
The two thought they could leave when they finished, but the police said, âSince weâre already looking for the ring, please stand here and wait for a while. If we find the ring, you two can confirm whether itâs your ring right away.â
âWe need to stand here?â Meredith asked in surprise.
Meridith frowned. âBut itâs dirty and smelly hereâ¦
Right then, a voice suddenly exclaimed from the side, âOh my goodness, is she Yvette? I canât believe I saw a celebrity.â
Immediately afterward, a lot of people gathered around.
âWhy is she standing in the garbage pile?â asked someone in the crowd.
Another person wondered aloud, âThereâs a policeman beside her. Is she filming a drama now?â
Everyone around them was gossiping.
Yvette felt that she should leave that place as soon as possible. She said, âI think I should leave now.
Iâll ask my assistant and lawyer to assist the police in this matter.â
The police said righteously. âMs. Hamilton, I know youâre a celebrity, but now the sanitary workers are working hard to find your ring. Youâre the one involved and you just need to stand aside to wait, canât you do it? Or do you think you are superior compared to others?â
