Chapter 284
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
No matter how much they loved each other, it had nothing to do with her.
Amelia thought she must have forgotten about Warren.
What she wanted only was to protect her son and her family!
After Rosalie left the diner, her heart was heavy. Jonathan asked her when they returned to the Youngblood residence, âAre you still thinking about Aiden?â
Rosalie nodded her head. âAmelia didnât want to be found by Warren. She had always told Aiden that his father was dead. I didnât think it would be a good thing if Warren found Amelia and discovered Aiden was his son. Besides, Warren is now engaged. If I were Amelia, I would avoid him and never see him again.â
Jonathan frowned at her words. Rosalie didnât mean it, but he took this to heart.
âIs it because he put Amelia in jail?â Jonathan asked. Although he asked casually, only he knew how nervous he was when he asked this question.
âYes,â Rosalie replied firmly.
Jonathanâs heart fluttered as if it was going to stop beating.
âWhat if I did the same thing? Will you stay away from me and never see me again?â Jonathan asked abruptly.
âYou?â Rosalie asked, looking at Jonathan in confusion. âYou are not Warren. How can I answer it?â
âItâs just a hypothetical. You used to promise me you would forgive me no matter what I did. Would you forgive me if I did the same thing as Warren did?â Jonathan said.
Rosalie thought about it carefully seeing his serious expression and then shook her head. âMaybe not.
After all, there are some things in this world that can be forgiven, while others cannot.â Therefore, whether a person should be forgiven or not depended on what he did.
Jonathanâs hands twitched suddenly, and his heart missed a beat. His heart sank as if it fell into a bottomless ice abyss.
He dragged her into his arms all of a sudden and held her tightly. âI donât care even if you canât forgive me, as long as you promise not to leave and refuse to see me no matter what happens in the future!â
Jonathan hugged Rosalie so tightly. He could put up with her loath and hatred, but he couldnât bear the thought of never seeing her again.
He wondered if he could bear the pain of loss or go crazy if he never saw her again.
He loved her far more than he thought.
Rosalie felt suffocated being hugged tightly by Jonathan. âJon, what happened? You havenât done anything wrong. Why did you ask me to forgive you?â
âPromise me, okay?â Jonathan insisted.
Rosalie felt out of breath. If she didnât agree with him, she would probably be suffocated. âB-But why?â
she asked.
âBecause Iâm afraid that I will never see you again. Iâm afraid you will never see me if I do something wrong,â he murmured.
If that was the case, his life would be hopeless.
Rosalie thought, âReally? Will he be afraid of losing me?â She was taken aback. She slowly raised her hands and wrapped them around Jonathanâs waist.
Jonathan suddenly shook his body as if he couldnât believe that she would hug him.
âOkay, I promise,â Rosalie said gently. Her words soothed his uneasy heart.
He lowered his head and looked straight into her eyes. âReally? Arenât you lying to me?â
âOf course not,â she blurted out. She didnât believe Jonathan who loved her so much would do such a thing to hurt her.
He was not Warren. She was confident that whatever happened to Warren and Amelia would not happen to them.
âThen tell me that you love me, and you will never refuse to see me,â Jonathan demanded in a hoarse voice, his bright eyes full of attachment and longing for her.
Sometimes, his gaze would take her by surprise as if she were his entire world.
How much did Jonathan love her? Rosalie had doubted his love for her at first, but she was now assured of it.
âI love you,â she whispered, stroking his cheek with her hand. She didnât understand why he was scared. Was he insecure because of his early childhood? If that was the case, she wanted to dispel fear for him. âSo I couldnât bear not seeing you,â she added.
After letting a sign, Jonathan lowered his head and kissed her lips.
His lips were a bit cold, different from her warm lips.
Sometimes, the colder he became, the more greedy he would be for warmth. Like this moment, he kissed her deeply and passionately, thirsty for her warmth as if he wanted to carve himself into her soul.
Jonathan didnât break the kiss until Rosalie was out of breath. The next second, he picked her up in his arms and walked towards the bed.
He set her down gently on the bed and gazed at her with tenderness, his elbows propping up on both sides of her body. Then he gently took her hand in his, pressing her palm against his cheek.
Her body trembled slightly. She understood what would happen next.
âRosie, I want you. What about you? Do you want me?â he whispered, curbing his desires.
She knew that Jonathan would stop if she said no.
However, she didnât want to suppress her feelings. âYes, I want you,â she said, with great certainty.
The next moment, a happy smile flickered at the corner of his mouth.
When Rosalie woke up the next morning, the sun was streaming into the room through the window.
She felt so comfortable and couldnât help but move her body when the warm morning sun shone on her.
Jonathan, who was lying beside her, came into her sight the moment she opened her eyes. He was gazing at her with a smile.
âMorning!â Rosalie said in a low voice.
âIf youâre tired, go back to sleep,â Jonathan said.
She hurriedly shook her head. âI have to go to work.â
âAre you so devoted to your job?â he said helplessly. In his opinion, her job at the diner was tiring and low-paying. He could have offered her a better job, but she declined.
