Chapter 288
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Lillian was almost choked by her food and finally swallowed it. As soon as she looked up, she saw Callumâs deep eyes on her as if he wanted to see through her.
âWellâ¦â Lillian bit her lips and managed an excuse. âBecause you⦠sometimes look very cold, just like⦠snow lotus, yes, snow lotus that cannot be touched with irreverence and only be admired in a far view. So⦠Iâm⦠embarrassed to do something intimate with you.â
As she spoke, she felt a pang of guilt and recalled what happened to her after she had done something intimate with Callum back then. Now, she wouldnât have the courage to do that, even if she intended to!
âBah! I donât have the intention,â Lillian said to herself at once. She didnât want to get involved with Callum anymore.
âBut why didnât you think that way back then? Instead, you even got intimate with me directly?â Callum joked.
Lillian was stunned. If she had known that her mistake would lead to this result, she would never have got drunk. âI was in a drunken state. You know I am a lightweight and easy to get drunk. Then I canât control what I say or do. I⦠I didnât mean to do thatâ¦â
Lillianâs voice trailed off just because Callumâs eyes grew colder and gave her an inexplicable feeling of trepidation. Even her saliva was stuck in her throat.
âYeah, if you did it on purpose, then you wouldnât have left without saying goodbye the next day,â
Callum added.
Suddenly Lillian felt another blow.
Callum beckoned for a waiter to get a bottle of wine. Then he opened it and poured a glass for Lillian.
Lillian blinked and looked at the wine in front of her. Did he wantâ¦
âDrink it,â Callum said tonelessly.
âIâm easy to get drunk,â Lillian responded awkwardly. âIn that case, Iâll tend to lose control of my behavior and then do impolite things to you again.â
âLet me see how uncontrollable you will be. Donât worry. If youâre drunk this time, Iâll allow you to touch me with irreverence and not hold you accountable,â Callum continued.
What?
Lillian blushed. She thought, âDid he know what he was talking about? He is seducing me with those words!â
Ignoring Lillian, Callum poured himself a glass alone and gulped it down. At that moment, only wine could suppress his surging anger. He told himself not to care about the heartless woman!
Lillian ended up drunk. She sipped her first glass under Callumâs threatening state, but after that, she found the wine was quite delicious and had more. When she realized that she had been drinking too much, she was a bit tipsy.
âWhat time⦠is it? I⦠I must be getting backâ¦â Lillian stumbled up. If she didnât go back, she was afraid that her parents would nag her again.
âItâs after 10 oâclock. Iâll take you home.â Callum held Lillian and recalled her state last time when watching her drunk face.
âIf⦠If I misbehave with you later, just⦠throw me out of the car⦠Lillian murmured. She was tongue-
tied and couldnât speak clearly, with a glazed look in her eyes.
Callum glanced at her and took her out in silence. Outside the restaurant, Callumâs driver was already waiting there.
Callum helped Lillian into the car and said to the driver, âGo to Ms. Quinnâs house.â
The driver drove the car slowly, while Callum looked at Lillian sitting by his side and leaning against him.
Now Lillianâs cheeks were red. She narrowed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder. The car seemed to reek of alcohol.
Lillian was drunk, but Callum was still sober.
Sometimes, he wished that he could get drunk as easily as she did. Maybe he wouldnât think so much when he was drunk.
Suddenly, Callum froze there because Lillianâs hand began to move slowly along his chest.
Lillian was so restless when she got drunk.
âLillian, do you know what youâre doing?â Callum asked Lillian, but soon, he gave a self-deprecating smile. He thought, âWhy did I ask a drunk woman? Maybe she didnât even understand my question.â
But Lillian responded, âYes, I know. Iâm fondling youâ¦â
That was good that she knew it. Callum sneered, âArenât you worried youâll regret it again after you sober up?â
Despite saying that, he was a little reluctant to pull down Lillianâs hand on his chest.
This time, Lillian ignored Callum and continued to fondle his chest while murmuring.
A while later, she raised her head slightly and tried to straighten up. âCallum⦠Callum, I⦠Iâll tell you a secretâ¦â
Callum raised his eyebrows and wondered, âSecret? What secret could a drunk woman have?â
âYou⦠get closer⦠The secret shall be⦠whispered in your earâ¦â Lillian spoke disjointedly with a frown, looking as if she was dissatisfied with their distance.
Callum pursed his lips and glanced deeply at Lillian. Then he leaned over and put his ears close to her lips. To his surprise, he felt good about the smell of alcohol mixed with her scent.
He had always hated women who reeked of alcohol and only felt it was a bad odor, but Lillian seemed to be an exception.
He thought that way back then, and so did he now.
Lillianâs lips touched his earlobe by accident, which caused him to tremble slightly. Then Callum heard her mumble. âIn fact⦠I think your figure⦠is better than⦠Dominicâs. He⦠he is inferior to youâ¦â
Thud! Callumâs heartbeat suddenly became rapid and loud. In his ears, it seemed to be his own heartbeat except for Lillianâs voice.
âBesides⦠Callum, I⦠I like you. Itâs trueâ¦â Lillian continued and then giggled at Callum.
Callum just watched her giggling in fascination. So many women laughed more beautifully than she did, looking charming or luscious, but he seemed to be enraptured in this idiot-like giggling.
Then his heart was pounding!
Lillian had a headache when she woke up the next morning.
âOh, my God! It hurts. I shouldnât have drunk! Iâll have a headache the next day once I drink too much!â
