Chapter 322
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Rosalie remembered that this diamond was sold for dozens of millions of dollars. She wondered who would wear such an expensive diamond.
To her surprise, this diamond was right in front of her at that moment.
Rosalie asked in surprise, âIs this the Icy Crystal diamond?â
Jonathan was slightly surprised. âHave you seen it before?â
Rosalie nodded. âYes.â
Jonathan said, âIâm going to use this diamond for the designer.â
r your wedd ring. Choose a setting or you can describe what you want to Rosalie blinked in surprise and thought, âA wedding ring?â
Rosalie couldnât believe that a diamond worth dozens of million dollars was going to be on her wedding ring. She thought that everything felt so unreal.
âYou donât like it?!â Jonathan frowned slightly, âIf you donât like it, Iâll find another one later. Or, do you prefer another kind of gem than diamond?â
âNo!â Rosalie anxiously denied it. âItâs not that I donât like diamonds. But this one is too expensive. Do you really want to use it on a wedding ring?â
âOf course.â Jonathan suddenly smiled mildly, finding Rosalieâs expression somewhat cute, âItâs okay if you want to make a necklace or something else with it. As for the priceâ¦â
Jonathan paused, took Rosalieâs right hand, leaned over slightly, and kissed her ring finger, where she would wear a wedding ring. He said, âNo matter how pricey the diamond is, youâre above it. You are the woman I will marry after all!â
A warm feeling spread quickly from the place he kissed to her whole body.
Rosalieâs eyes were wet. The man whom she was about to marry gave her a feeling of being carefully cherished.
Rosalie thought, âMarrying him may be the best choice I ever made in my life.â
Rosalie checked all the different styles of ring settings and talked about what she wanted with the designer. After putting forward some preliminary ideas, Rosalie ended the first communication with the designer.
After all, it usually required more rounds of communication since it was related to a wedding ring. It should be cautiously dealt with.
Jonathan asked, âAre you hungry?â
Rosalie nodded. âA little bit.â
Jonathan said, âLetâs go have dinner.â Then he took her to a restaurant to which she once expressed her appreciation.
Rosalie noticed that what Jonathan ordered were all her favorite dishes.
Jonathan was always like this. He would remember her preferences silently and occasionally show his thoughtfulness.
Perhaps she once feared Jonathan, but now she was definitely not afraid of him. Her fear gradually disappeared because of the love he gave her.
Jonathan suddenly said, âLetâs go to the law firm tomorrow.â
Rosalie was stunned. âWhatâs wrong?â
Jonathan said, âItâs your case. The evidence is enough now. I will find a lawyer to sort out all the materials and lodge an appeal. So, go to the law firm with me tomorrow.â
Rosalie froze and almost stopped breathing. She thought, âAn appeal?! Does it mean that my case is really going to be overturned?
Can I be proven innocent? Will all the pain, grievances, and injustices that I am suffering go away?â
Rosalie had thought that she might never be able to turn over her case. She thought turnover was simply impossible.
But now, Jonathan was telling her that the evidence was enough.
Those impossibilities became possible only because of Jonathan.
Rosalieâs silence made Jonathan wonder. He asked, âDonât you always want to turn over your case?
Why are you silent now?â Rosalie murmured, âThe evidenceâ¦. is it really enough to turn over the case? Is it going to bring justice to me?â
Hearing the word âjusticeâ, Jonathanâs eyes flashed slightly. âWithout question. Trust melâ
Tears gushed out of Rosalieâs eyes. She sobbed, âThank you, Jon!â
Her tears made Jonathan confused. Jonathan hurriedly drew out a tissue and wiped her tears. âStop crying. I am not helping you find evidence and turn over the case for your tears.â
Her tears only made him heartbroken.
But Rosalie cried even harder as if the pain brought to her by this case that lasted so many years was finally given vent to at this moment.
Rosalie hugged Jonathan tightly and cried loudly.
Rosalieâs cry which had been suppressed for so long showed Rosalieâs grievances and pain!
Jonathan lowered his head with a complicated look and looked at the person in his arms. He felt that the shirt on his chest was gradually getting wet. He knew it was wetted by her tears.
Jonathanâs heart was throbbing in pain.
Jonathan wanted justice for her. But no matter how powerful he was and how much money he had, he couldnât give back the years she had lost back to her.
If he had known that he would fall in love with her so deeply, he would have never allowed her to suffer the slighted bit of grievance.
However, the reality was that Jonathan didnât know.
He couldnât predict him guilty back then. He couldnât know one day, he would bear a heavy sense of guilt on his back because of another person.
Jonathan could ignore the feelings of anyone, but not Rosalie.
Jonathan raised his hand stiffly. He patted Rosalieâs back and comforted her softly. âRosie, stop crying, please.â
He comforted her over and over again as if he never could be tired of it.
Rosalie cried for a long time. Finally, she calmed down and found them alone in the restaurant.
The restaurant was huge and quiet. Now, they were the only customers.
She sniffed and said in a choking voice, âWhere is everybody else?â
âI have asked everyone else to leave.â Jonathan said, âI want no one else to watch if you keep crying.â
Rosalie immediately felt embarrassed. She didnât expect that she would suddenly break down and then cry so loudly.
Rosalie murmured, âBut, there were so manyâ¦â She remembered that there were a lot of people there when she just arrived there.
âItâs just a trivial matter.â Jonathan gently stroked her tear-stained cheeks. âAre you done crying?â
Rosalie bit her lips and muttered yes in a low voice.
Jonathan took out his handkerchief and gently wiped the tears off her face. He said lightly, âIâm sorry.â
He never said sorry to others but to her.
