Chapter 324
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Elodia felt a burning pain on her face and one of her cheeks almost couldnât feel anything at all. She covered her face with one hand and looked at the man who hit her. Then she found that the person who just slapped her was Rosalieâs boyfriend, whom she had seen before.
Elodia stammered, âDid you just slap me?â
Jonathan laughed angrily, âWhy? Am I not allowed to do that?â There was terrifying hostility glistening in his deep eyes.
Elodia said, enduring the pain, âI was helping you. Rosalie and Calvin⦠they are having an affairâ¦â
But before she could finish her words, she was slapped again.
Suddenly. Elodiaâs cheeks were both red and swollen.
Elodia even smelled blood in her mouth. That was how fierce the two slaps were.
But what scared Elodia the most was the hostility in Jonathanâs eyes, which made her feel like he was going to kill her! She almost believed the man in front of her would kill herself at any time.
Elodia thought, calming herself down, âHeâs just Rosalieâs boyfriend. Heâs not a big shot. I have nothing to fear! Iâm calling the police! I will make Rosalie and her boyfriend pay!â
At this moment, they heard a sudden sound of footsteps. Elodia heard the bossâs voice. âMr.
Youngblood, welcome. Oh, Rosalie, youâre here too. I havenât seen you for quite a long time. Come have a seat.â
Elodiaâs boss, who had always looked cold, was now so enthusiastic!
But Jonathan just stood there and looked down at Rosalie. âShe was the one who splashed tea on you, right? She just said something she shouldnât have said. How do you think she should end up?â
Of course, Jonathan had asked someone to investigate what happened before.
Elodia was stunned and thought that the man with Rosalie was too arrogant. She snorted in her mind, âWhat did he mean by that? He sounds like he can easily determine my fate.â
Looking at the three people in front of him, checking Elodiaâs red and swollen cheeks and Jonathanâs cold face, the boss shouted, âElodia, what is going on?â
Elodia didnât dare to say anything at that moment. After all, Calvin was involved in what she just said about Rosalie!
So, Elodia hawked over for a while and didnât how to explain it.
Rosalie looked at Elodia and said coldly, âElodia, what happened to me is not something you can use to belittle me. If you belittle anyone, you will end up the same sooner or later! Since you have recorded what you said today to slander me, I will keep a copy of it too. If you dare to talk nonsense again, get ready for prison!â
Rosalieâs cold words made Elodia feel the phone in her hand burning. It turned out that Rosalie already knew she was recording secretly!
âJon, letâs go in. I want to see the evidence,â said Rosalie. Only after seeing the evidence herself, could she rest assured.
Jonathan answered, âOkay!â
The boss of the firm and some senior executives hurriedly led them into an office.
Elodia was stunned and stayed still.
Jonathan left before saying, âBy the way, remember to copy all the recordings on that womanâs phone.
It is evidence!â
After Jonathan and others entered a meeting room, someone walked from the reception desk to Elodia.
âElodia, give me your phone. I need to copy all your recordings.â.
Elodia grabbed her phone tightly in her hand. âWhy?â She was not a fool. How could she be willing to hand over evidence against her to others?
However, the man looked at Elodia as if Elodia was a fool. âBecause that man is Jonathan Youngblood.
Youâre lucky that he only needs copies of your recordings. As long as you keep your mouth shut, Rosalie will not do anything to you, but if youâ¦â
Before the man finished his words, he was interrupted by Elodiaâs exclamation. âWhat did you say? He is Jonathan Youngblood?!â
The man said, âYes, Jonathan himself brought Rosalie here today. Heâs helping Rosalie lodge an appeal!â
Elodia was shocked, her eyes popping out.
Elodia thought, âJonathan Youngblood is Rosalieâs boyfriend! How can it be possible? The girl who Rosalie killed in the accident was Jonathanâs fiancée, wasnât she?
Why is he helping her lodge an appeal?
So, Rosalie was not the perpetrator?!â
Elodiaâs mind was blank. The places where her cheeks were swollen after being slapped were still burning in pain at first but now she only felt coldness out of fear.
Rosalie and Jonathan walked into the meeting room. Rosalie knew all the people who attended this meeting, including the boss of the firm and the mentor she had worked with.
But at this moment, these people looked at her with curiosity and caution.
Rosalie thought it was because of Jonathan.
However, she didnât say anything about that or talk about the old days with them. What she needed to do was to read all the materials that had been sorted out by the firm, including descriptions of various new evidence.
Among the new evidence were several witnesses. Rosalie didnât expect Jonathan would find them.
These witnesses now all claimed that they had been bought off by someone and had made false testimony.
As for the physical evidence, someone bought off at least one policeman and secretly tampered with the evidence.
All the new evidence and clues were pointing at one person, a man named Mike Hughman.
Rosalie couldnât help but ask, âWho is Mike Hughman?â She thought, âI donât even know this person!
Why did he want me to go to prison and suffer so much?â
Jonathan explained to Rosalie, âHe was the vice president of the Hamilton Group and maintains a close relationship with Melanie. On that day, he was drunk with Melanie. Melanie was driving the car.
Then she ran into your car. He was afraid to have to take responsibility so he framed you. After you were imprisoned, he resigned from his job as vice president and went abroad.â
Rosalie asked, âBut even though he was drunk with Melanie, it was still Melanie who was driving the car. He had little responsibility if any.â She didnât think he needed to spend so much time and effort on framing her.
Jonathan said, âIf Melanie had been just an ordinary person, he would have done nothing. But Melanie was not.â
