Chapter 435
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
His domineering yet amorous kiss reminded Rosalie of the kiss that night when she was still bleary.
Both incidents felt so much alike.
âHence, at the time⦠did he truly kiss me while I was asleep?â she wondered.
His kiss almost made her breathless.
She was panting instinctively when the kiss ended, yet he rested his forehead against hers and muttered hoarsely, âCan you not like Lucas, please?â
A tremor ran through Rosalieâs body. âJonathan, donât you think what youâre saying is ridiculous?â
He demanded that she not fall for another man despite having broken up with her.
Jonathanâs face suddenly darkened.
âDoes she know how I felt when I sat in the rental home watching the videos of her and Lucas together at the amusement park?â he questioned internally.
Jealousy devoured him whole back then.
It felt like death by a thousand cuts from an invisible knife when Jonathan observed how she looked and smiled at the man, especially when she took the initiative to redo his necktie.
The pain was so terrible that he found it difficult to breathe.
âSo, do you insist on liking him?â His tone was sharp and severe.
Rosalieâs body shook abruptly. She had an inexplicable intuition that Jonathan would rob her of her freedom if she said yes.
It would be a piece of cake to deal with her with his authority and position in Strico, Moreover, there was Lucas.
She wished not to implicate that honest and genuine man because of herself.
âNo, I donât like him,â she uttered drily.
He trained his gaze on her eyes as if evaluating the veracity of her words.
After a moment, his lips gradually curved into a light smile. âGood thing that you dislike him.â
âWell, can you let me go then, Mr. Youngblood?â she asked.
His brows furrowed at that as he had no desire to release her from his embrace nor take his arms off from around her.
âCall me Jon,â he requested out of the blue. It was too jarring to hear Rosalie refer to him as Mr.
Youngblood or Jonathan. She pursed her lips and glared at him.
âDidnât you use to call me Jon before?â
âThat was in the past. I shouldnât do that now that weâve broken up,â she responded.
âBut didnât you call me Jon before we dated, Rosie?â His breath landed on her face lightly.
She held her breath when her nickname left Jonathanâs lips.
Her nickname formerly made her feel less lonely like she finally had a family.
âBut you arenât my younger brother anymore, right? Thatâs why thereâs no need to call me Rosie, Mr.
Youngblood,â she smiled bitterly âYou were the one who was hellbent that I refer to you as Rosie back then. Are you refusing to be held accountable for that?â. His fingers lightly stroked her cheek and gently tucked the stray strands of hair that had gotten loose when she struggled behind her ear. âYou canât just refuse to be my sister at your whim and fancy.â
âWhat does he mean by that?â Rosalie exclaimed internally.
Rosalie stared at Jonathan in a daze and could only focus on his perfect lips that shaped the words, âHavenât you always wished to be part of a family? In that case, why not continue being my sister?â
Rosalie was stunned. After a while, she suddenly had an urge to crack up. âYou want us to continue behaving like we are siblings?â
âIs there a problem with that?â
âJonathan, do you have any idea how ludicrous you are?â she laughed out loud. âI went along with you when you suggested we date and even when you demanded that we break up. Now that youâre sick of our dating game, are you seeking a new thrill with this make-believe family?â
Jonathanâs face turned stormy instantly. âThis isnât a game. You can be my sister. No one would dare disrespect you in Strico ever again.â
âNo, thanks!â she turned him down swiftly. âYou are not my brother either.â
How could she treat a man she once loved deeply back to being her brother?
âAre you so against being my sister?â He narrowed his attractive eyes, giving off an infinitely dangerous aura.
âJonathan, Iâm not you, nor can I be as fickle as you!â Rosalie spat out coldly. âWeâve broken up, so please stop disturbing me in the future. Since you claimed being with me is too draining, I wonât appear in front of you again. I expect you to do the same!â
Her indifference and aloofness irritated him. It was as if she rejected any advances he made toward her no matter what he did.
âHow could she lock me out of her heart so simply when Iâm undergoing such suffering?â he deliberated.
His jealousy surged once more when he recalled the image of how happy she was when heading to the amusement park with another man.
At that, Jonathan lowered his head and kissed her lips hard again.
âNo, I donât want this!â
Rosalie bit down on him suddenly, and the metallic tang of blood filled her mouth instantly.
However, it did nothing to stop the kiss as she intended, which turned even more aggressive.
The odor of blood grew stronger. This triggered Rosalie to think of how sheâd also bitten the tip of the personâs tongue that kissed her when she was still muzzy from sleep that night.
The kiss ended at long last.
Rosalieâs senses were all focused on the overpowering taste of blood in her mouth while a thin line of blood dripped down the corner of Jonathanâs lips.
âThis is the second timeâ¦â He wiped the blood off his mouth and said slowly.
It turned out that he was indeed the one who kissed her that night! Rosalie gave Jonathan a death glare and sneered. âA brother wouldnât kiss their elder sister like that!â
Jonathanâs expression fell in the blink of an eye.
Jonathan left without a word after Rosalieâs pronouncement, and Rosalie almost collapsed on the ground weakly.
Her mouth was still infused with the scent of his blood.
It didnât matter that she had rinsed her mouth several times as the taste of it stubbornly remained on her tongue.
âSister and brother?â she considered Rosalie couldnât figure out what Jonathan was up to. She thought, âIs he planning to toy with me again out of boredom?
Either way, I wonât cooperate with his foolery this time around.
Rosalie shook her head to prevent herself from thinking about Jonathan.
