Chapter 442
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Jonathan exited the car and stood there frowning as he heard the commotion and screams coming from inside the bar.
Meanwhile, Carlos observed Jonathanâs expression cautiously before suggesting, âMr. Youngblood, this place is quite crowded. Shall I⦠go inside and bring Ms. Leighton out?â
âNo, Iâll go in myself,â Jonathan said coldly.
Just then, another silver Porsche sped by, stopping abruptly in front of the bar as a slender figure gracefully exited the car.
The surprise on the manâs face was evident as he fixed his gaze on Jonathan. Jonathan was also momentarily stunned when he saw the man get out of the Porsche.
Both men made eye contact and remained silent as they stared at each other.
As he watched the scene, Carlos, standing nearby, couldnât help but find the situation somewhat amusing. That wasnât something one could see every day, after all.
Finally, Jonathan took the lead in breaking the silence. âAre you here for Lillian?â he asked.
Callumâs eyes lit up at the mention of that. âCould it be that youâre here⦠for Rosalie?â
âIf thatâs the case, letâs leave later with the one we came for,â Jonathan suggested.
When Callum heard that, he immediately thought, âWell, itâs pretty obvious Jonathan is here looking for Rosalie.â
He rushed over because Lillian, who had gotten carried away, took a photo of the lively stage and posted it on her Instagram.
When he saw it, Callum immediately checked the location tag under the photo before asking someone to find the exact address and rushing over.
Lillian had told him that she had to work on a project and couldnât meet him for the weekend, but it turned out that she was enthusiastically ogling handsome men in the bar.
Callum clenched his teeth in dissatisfaction as he remembered the caption under her Instagram photo:
[Watching five handsome guys tonight. What am I going to do? Theyâre all my type!]
âHow dare she mention that they are all her type? Didnât she say that Iâm the only one she likes? Little liar! Iâll teach her a lesson when I get to her!â he thought.
He initially thought she had sneaked in alone to enjoy herself and was surprised to discover she had brought Rosalie along.
Sure enough, Callum was even more surprised to find Jonathan right at the entrance to the bar.
âWho we came for?â Callum suddenly chuckled and continued, âMr. Youngblood, I seem to recall that Rosalie has broken up with you, so she canât be considered yours, can she?â
Jonathanâs face turned horrible as Callum finished speaking.
Jonathan turned around coldly and walked into the bar alone.
Meanwhile, Callum rubbed his nose and followed suit, pondering, âI just hope that Lillian hasnât gotten too carried away in the bar! How dare she get carried away with another man when she already has me? I need to talk seriously with her later and find out who she really has feelings for!â
The bar was a cacophony of voices. A medley of womenâs screams, declarations of affection, men singing their hearts out, and the background music merged into a chaotic symphony.
Callum immediately spotted Lillian, who had already climbed onto a table and was waving at the five men on stage. Meanwhile, she was waving a⦠piece of clothing that looked like a vest. He immediately realized that the vest was a performance costume belonging to one of the men.
Callum immediately assumed that Rosalie would act better than Lillian.
However, that was not the case.
Rosalie was standing on her chair and waving her hands. She occasionally made a trumpet-like gesture with her hands, cheered at the five men dancing vigorously, and had already removed their tops, saying, âKeep it up! Keep going! Iâm rooting for you!â
Callum was left speechless by what he had just witnessed and thought to himself, âRosalie is not the way I remembered her!â
He glanced at Jonathan, standing beside him, trying to read his expression. Although the dim lighting in the bar made it hard to see how dark his face was, Jonathanâs expression made Callum feel an involuntary pang of sympathy for Rosalie.
He was sure Rosalie had no idea how to handle the situation of being involved with a man like Jonathan.
Jonathanâs current demeanor gave Callum the feeling that there might be more to the story, even though they had broken Jonathan stepped forward and reached out, lifting Rosalie right out of the chair before scooping her into his arms To his surprise, she didnât resist at that moment. Instead, Rosalie wrapped her arms around his neck and said with a smile, âJonâ¦â
Jonathanâs body trembled as he heard her address him. He also noticed her bright smile, which was quite different from her usual aloof demeanor.
Then, his gaze met her slightly tipsy eyes before glancing at the empty beer cans on the table. It suddenly dawned on him that she had been drinking.
Jonathan thought, âWhat am I thinking? Iâm pretty sure sheâd only call me âJonâ with a smile after a few drinks.ââ
âW-Why are you here? Are you here to⦠see them dance, too? They are such wonderful dancers!
They make me⦠haha⦠so excited! But⦠I didnât get their clothes. Lillian is luckier⦠than me! She got it!â Rosalie said intermittently, and there was even a hint of dissatisfaction in her tone as she paused.
Jonathan pursed his thin lips and was about to leave with Rosalie in his arms.
However, Lillian, still waving the vest on the table, exclaimed, âHey! W-Where are you taking Rosalie?
W-Weâre not done yet! Thereâs m-more stripping to comeâ¦â
âThatâs right! I⦠I want to⦠watch them!â Rosalie exclaimed, agreeing with her friend. âJon, letâs watch them together!â
Jonathanâs face took on a grim look as he stared coldly at Lillian and thought, âIf she werenât Rosalieâs best friend, Iâd help her regret her life! How dare she bring Rosalie to see such disgraceful things!â
Callum quickly carried Lillian off the table and said to Jonathan, âMr. Youngblood, Iâm sure Lillianâ¦
brought Rosalie here to watch the show with good intentions.â
Jonathan snorted coldly, âGood intentions? Do you think she meant well when she brought Rosalie here to watch such performances?â
âWell⦠Although this is an attention-seeking performance, they still have a great grasp of the music!â
Callum said, speaking words that went against his true feelings. Heaven knew how much he wanted to tear those guys apart on stage. However, he had to clean up the mess Lillian had made, lest Jonathan develop a grudge against her.
Callum felt deeply aggrieved. He used to be the one causing grievances to others, but he realized that he was the one experiencing such emotions since he fell in love with Lillian!
âKeep her in line, or I might really have to take action against her someday!â Jonathan said coldly.
âYou intend to take action against her?â Callum, holding the struggling woman in his arms, sneered at Jonathan and warned, âMr. Youngblood, if you dare to harm Lillian in any way, I will mobilize all my resources, including White Maple Group, to oppose you.â
Once more, the two men exchanged a meaningful gaze.
