Chapter 522
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
On the way to the police station, Lillian told Callum what had happened at the food cart before.
Hearing that, Callum frowned subconsciously. It seemed that credit was due to Jonathanâs two bodyguards. Otherwise, the three women might not have been able to escape unscathed.
âHow about I send two bodyguards to protect you secretly later?â suggested Callum.
Lillian hurriedly refused, âNo. In that case, I will feel uncomfortable as if I am being watched.â
âButâ¦â
âI promise that I will call you immediately if Iâm in danger!â As Lillian spoke, she raised her hand as if to make a vow.
Callum couldnât help laughing.
When they arrived at the police station, Rosalie was responsible for telling the police what had happened before and submitting the recording on her phone. The three scoundrels were also handed over to the police.
After giving their statements, Lillian said to Rosalie, âCallum and I will send âOkay,â Rosalie answered.
you home later.â
With that, the three walked out of the police station. Having also finished with their statements, the two bodyguards also followed Rosalie out.
Callumâs car was parked in the parking space at the entrance of the police station, but at that moment, a black Bentley was parked in another parking space not far from his car.
Rosalie stopped immediately. It was Jonathanâs car.
âHeâs here too?â
The two bodyguards who followed Rosalie stepped forward and said to Rosalie, âMs. Leighton, this way please.â
Rosalie pursed her lips. It was now evident that the two bodyguards had already known that Jonathan would come.
Since they were sent by Jonathan, they would naturally report what happened there to him.
âRosalie, whatâs wrong?â Lillian also stopped and looked strangely at her friend who had stopped behind her.
Rosalie said wryly, âYou guys leave first. I⦠will go back in another car.â
Lillian looked at her friend and then at the two bodyguards. Afterward, her gaze fell upon the nearby Bentley. âIs Jonathan in the car?â
Rosalie nodded.
Lillian stared at the car and said, âIâll ask him what is going on between the two of you.â Although Lillian wanted to thank Jonathan for sending the two bodyguards, she wasnât going to conflate the issue with Jonathanâs stupid game of playing make-believe family.
âTheyâve both broken up. Isnât he tormenting her by doing this?â
Just as Lillian was about to rush over, Rosalie grabbed her friend and said, âThis is between me and him. I will handle it.â
She knew that Lillian was worried about her, but she was also afraid that Lillian would upset Jonathan if she confronted him. If that were to happen, Callumâs protection might not be enough to keep Lillian safe.
âButâ¦â Lillian was still worried.
âEnough. You might end up making things worse instead,â Callum interjected.
Only then did Lillian give up. Before leaving, she said to Rosalie, âIf Jonathan puts you in a spot, please tell me and weâll solve it together.â
Rosalie smiled. âOkay, I got it.â For her, Lillian was like the light in the darkness. The latter would always support her and not give up on her whenever she was in trouble.
Only then did Lillian and Callum get in the car, while Rosalie got into the black Bentley.
Lillian kept watching the Bentley drive away. Then she muttered to Callum, âOkay, letâs go.â
Callum drove away from the police station. âWhere do you want to go now?â
âHome of course. Where else can you go?â Lillian said sullenly.
âIf you are in a bad mood, why donât we go see a movie?â he said.
âForget it. Itâs no use watching any movie unless you do another striptease.â The mention of it reminded her that he seemed to have danced in front of her the last time she was drunk, but she had no recollection of it at all. It subsequently remained a hazy memory afterward.
Therefore, every time she thought of it, she would feel that it was a shame. With time, it became one of her regrets.
Callum glanced at Lillian and said, âIf you really want to see it, Iâll perform it for you when you go to my place.â
Lillian almost choked on her saliva.
She mused, âWhat did he say? He wants to perform a striptease for me? Did I hear it wrong? Isnât he the head of the White family? Doesnât he view such sultry performances with disdain?
The last time he watched a boy band sing and dance on TV, he despised them!â
âWill you really do it?â she asked.
âMmm-hmm,â he responded readily. In truth, she knew that he would do anything for her as long as it made her happy.
Lillian swallowed the saliva suddenly secreted from her throat and felt that there was no time like the present. If he were to take it back later, she would end up regretting the missed opportunity.
âThen letâs do it today,â she said immediately.
âToday?â He was slightly stunned.
âYeah, since itâs still early anyway. Why donât we go to your place first, and you can send me home after you finish?â She said. It was already over 9 p.m. at night, and it was late. By the time they arrived at his residence, it would be 10 p.m.
Callum pondered for a moment and then said, âThat works too.â Then he turned the car around and drove toward his mansion.
On the way, Lillian was a little thirsty, so she said, âDo you have anything to drink in your car?/Iâm thirsty.â
âI still have a bottle of coffee. Do you want it?â he said.
âOkay,â she answered and knew where he usually kept the drink, so she reached out to take it.
However, when she was about to unscrew the cap, she suddenly stopped as if something had come up in her mind. Then she frowned slightly and stared at the coffee bottle in a daze.
âWhatâs wrong?â he asked.
Lillian bit her lips and said, âWhat if Iâm pregnant?â
Callum was stunned for a moment. Then, the screech of jamming brakes was heard. Callum stepped on the brake in astonishment, stopped the car, and then looked at Lillian in disbelief.
âWhy did you suddenly stop? Itâs dangerous!â Lillian patted her chest and said, âFortunately, there are few cars on this road. If it was busy, we would have been hit by a car.â
âWhat did you just say? Youâre⦠pregnant?â Callum stared at Lillianâs stomach as his voice went out of tune.
He seldom lost his composure, but it was not surprising that he did when it came to matters related to Lillian.
