Chapter 59
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âAre you going there?â Jonathan asked.
Rosalie nodded. âWell, itâs just that youâ¦â She hesitated for a moment and asked, âDo you want to come with me?â
Jonathan pondered for a while and said, âI have to work overtime on New Yearâs Eve. The boss said that I would get three times my salary. Well, Rosie, why donât you leave me the address? Iâll go to meet you on the first day of the new year.â
âOkay,â Rosalie said, but then she bit her lip slightly and hesitated. âBut when you go there with me, some relatives might react badly. Please donât take it personally.â
Jonathan smiled softly. âDonât worry. I wonât care.â
Rosalie was the only one he cared about now.
The closer it was to the new year, the fewer people on the road. Many outsiders went back to their hometowns.
Rosalieâs motherâs hometown was a small town near Strico, which was not far away. It would take about an hour and a half to get there by car, so the tickets were relatively easy to grab.
Rosalie said to Jonathan when booking the ticket, âJon, do you have an ID card? Iâll book you a ticket.â
Speaking of which, she had not even seen his ID card.
âIâve booked the ticket,â Jonathan said.
Hearing this, Rosalie did not say anything more. Instead, she took out the scarf she had knitted the past days and gave it to Jonathan.
âIs it a little short?â Rosalie looked at the scarf and said.
âNo, it suits me just fine,â Jonathan said. The scarf seemed to have Rosalieâs breath, which made him feel like he was surrounded by her. âThen Iâll wrap the scarf up later so that you can wear it during the new year. It will take some time to get the gloves done before the new year,â Rosalie said.
Lillian originally wanted to visit Rosalie during the new year, but when she heard that Rosalie was going to her motherâs hometown, Lillian could not help but get worried.
**
âAre you going alone?â
âJon will be there to accompany me on the first day of the new year,â Rosalie said.
âBut the relatives of your motherâs family, theyâ¦â Lillian knew how heartless those people were when Rosalie was in trouble.
They showed different faces when they wanted to obtain benefits and also when Rosalie was in trouble.
âI want to see Granny. I havenât seen her since I was released from prison. I wonder how she is now,â
Rosalie said. Wilma was the only warmth.
there.
âIf anything happens, just call me. Iâll be home for days during the new year,â Lillian said.
âWhat else could happen?â Rosalie laughed. âIâm just going back to my hometown, not to fight.â
âWho knows if your relatives will stir up trouble?â Lillian muttered.
âDonât worry. I just want to see Granny and will come back in two days,â Rosalie lowered her eyes and said in a low voice.
On New Yearâs Eve, Rosalie set off early in the morning and told Jonathan to be careful before leaving.
âOkay. Rosie, I got it,â Jonathan said with a smile.
After Rosalie left, Jonathan looked at the tiny rental home and felt lonely. He picked up the scarf Rosalie put on the desk and wrapped it around his neck, smiling slightly.
When Jonathan walked out of the rental home, Carlos had been waiting outside for a long time. He was stunned when he saw Jonathan. Jonathan did not like wearing a scarf at all, but he was wearing a plain scarf now.
When Jonathan approached, Carlos looked at the wool on the scarf and the weaving method. He could almost tell that it was a handâwoven scarf.
There seemed to be only one answer for the person who made Jonathan wear the handâwoven scarf.
Carlos thought the scarf should be made by Rosalie!
âMr. Youngblood, weâre going toâ¦â
âGo to the hospital. We should have a New Yearâs Eve dinner with Mr. Leonard Youngblood today.â
Jonathan ordered.
10-370 âYes,â Carlos answered. He started the car and drove in the direction of the hospital.
The bus stopped not far from an elevated exit outside the town, and Rosalie got off. Even this town seemed to have changed a lot in the past three years. Some mud roads had been renovated into cement roads. On the way, Rosalie met some of Wilmaâs neighbors. They pointed at her and gossiped.
Rosalie was already used to these things.
Since she was released from prison, those who had known her before could not avoid talking about her after seeing her.
When Rosalie came to Wilmaâs house, it was crowded with relatives.
When his uncle, Edward Lopez saw her, he squeezed out a smile and said, âItâs Rosalie. Come on, come in and sit down. Weâve been waiting for you for so long.â
Rosalie was a little surprised. Edward had asked someone to send a message to her in the detention center after she had an accident so that she would not get them involved.
âCome on, sit down!â Rosalieâs aunt, Sarah Haberly, also walked over with enthusiasm and took her to sit down. Then, Daniel Lopez, Sabrina Lopez, Emily Lopez, and other relatives surrounded Rosalie warmly.
Rosalie was confused. âWhere is Granny?â she asked.
âGranny is taking a nap now. You can meet her after she wakes up,â said Sarah.
Daniel, who was next to her, said, âRosalie, since you are out of prison now, you have to be a good person. There is no one around you now. Women always need to find a man to rely on. Iâll introduce a nice man to you later.â
âUncle Daniel, I donât want to find a boyfriend now.â Rosalie refused.
âHey, whatâs wrong with you?â Daniel seemed to want to say something more, but Sarah gave him a look, and he immediately stopped talking.
At this moment, Wilma, Rosalieâs grandmother, was quarreling with Luke.
âI donât agree. I absolutely disagree with letting Rosalie marry that fool. It is going to ruin her life!â
Wilma shouted.
Luke snorted, âHer life has been destroyed for a long time. What do you think she can do after being released from prison? I have asked around. Sheâs just a person who sweeps the road now, so why not let her marry 10.475 someone since she is young? As the Foster family said, they will support Rosalie for the rest of her life if she can give birth to a baby. Iâm looking out for her.â
âYou said you are looking out for her, but youâre greedy for the Foster familyâs money!â Wilma said with hatred, âYou want to sell Rosalie!â âMom, why are you saying that we are selling Rosalie?â Sarah rushed over and said, âDad also did it for our family. Henry and Richard are both planning to get married. Now when Rosalie gets married, Henry and Richard can at least make a down payment to buy a house in town with the Foster familyâs 60,000 dollars. Mom, you canât let your grandsons not get married.â
