Chapter 593
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
The front of the car was crumpled due to the impact, while the dented door looked like it had been pried open from the inside.
After that, a figure stumbled out of the car.
Rosalieâs eyes widened in disbelief at the sight. âIt⦠It really is Calvin!â
Even though she couldnât believe it, the scene before her told her it was a fact.
She watched as he stumbled toward her. His face was covered in blood, and his entire body was in a terrible state.
He was a scion of the entertainment industry. He usually appeared in front of others, looking sharp and neat. Never had he looked like he did now.
The blood dripping onto his beige jacket made for a gruesome scene.
Then, he walked to her door step by step and opened it. He subsequently bent down with some difficulty. His face was covered in blood, and he looked nervous. âAre you all right? Are you hurt?â
His voice was hoarse, and his outstretched hands were drenched in blood.
Rosalie was surprised and touched, thinking, âHe is seriously injured and bleeding all over, yet he still asked if I was hurt!â
âYou rammed your car into us on purpose, didnât you? Why?â she asked in a choked voice.
âBecause youâre in the car.â That was the only answer he gave.
It felt like an all-encompassing answer. She was in the car, so he wanted to save her at all costs.
Just because he loved her so much.
Rosalie, Lillian, and Calvin were then taken to Central Hospital. Rosalie and Lillianâs injuries were relatively minor. They only had some lacerations, which were not serious. Calvinâs injuries were more severe. After a preliminary examination, the doctor sent him to the operating room.
Rosalie waited outside the operating room, accompanied by Lillian.
When Lillian saw her friendâs worried face, she reassured her, âDonât worry. All the specialists at Central Hospital are working on Calvin now. Everything will be fine!â
However, Rosalie pursed her lips tightly, unable to relax.
Lillian said nothing more. She just held her friendâs hand.
In retrospect, she was also scared. If it werenât for Calvin, she and Rosalie would have been killed.
Although Lillian didnât know why Calvin appeared and saved them at the critical moment, she couldnât help but admire his courage and determination.
âFew are willing to risk their lives to save others.
However, Calvin did it for Rosalieâs sake!â she thought.
Previously, Lillian had assumed that Calvinâs feelings for Rosalie were platonic, but after what happened that day, she realized that Calvin was deeply in love with her friend.
Lillian was deeply impressed when Calvin walked to the passenger seat, covered in blood, asking Rosalie if she was hurt. âIf someone else like me is even moved, what about Rosalie? What does she think about this?â Lillian wondered.
Half an hour later, the Gunner family rushed over. Calvinâs parents, as well as the director and specialists of the hospital, also came with them.
Horatio and Samantha looked at the closed operating room door nervously and listened to specialists from the hospital explaining Calvinâs injury and the difficulty of surgery.
When Horatio and Samantha knew their sonâs injury was not fatal, they breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Rosalie and Lillian.
To be more precise, their gazes fell on Rosalie.
âYou must be Rosalie!â Samantha walked over to Rosalie and said coldly, âI donât care what your relationship is with Calvin. But I donât want to see Calvin in the operating room again because of you!â
Lillian was about to defend her friend, but Rosalie suddenly stopped her and discreetly shook her head.
Calvin had ended up in the operating room because of her, and Samanthaâs words were considered restrained. Even if Samantha scolded her harsher, she would still accept it.
âThatâs enough. Whatever it is, weâll talk about it after Calvinâs surgery is completed,â Horatio said solemnly.
With that, Samantha said nothing more.
Two hours later, Calvin was wheeled out of the operating room.
He had two broken ribs and seven stitches on his forehead. Even though he had lost a lot of blood, everything went well during the operation. All he needed was some time to recuperate, and he would be fine.
Horatio and Samantha looked relieved as they wheeled Calvin into the ward.
With Rosalie standing still, Lillian asked, âArenât you going to the ward and keep him company until he wakes up?â
Rosalie smiled bitterly. If she could, of course, she would like to go to the ward and be by Calvinâs side until he woke up, however⦠âHis parents probably donât want to see me there,â Rosalie said.
After all, she was the reason their son was hurt.
âWell⦠How about we visit Calvin tomorrow?â Lillian suggested. Since Calvin had also saved her life, she was naturally grateful to him.
Rosalie nodded. âTomorrow⦠He should have woken up by then. What should I say when I see him?â
she wondered.
The only thing she could feel was a heavy feeling in her chest.
That night, when Rosalie closed her eyes, she saw Calvin walking toward her with a bloody face. He bent down and looked at her anxiously, asking if she was injured.
She thought to herself, âI owe Calvin too much!â
Although she saved him once when he was a child, he would save her again and again later.
Rosalie mused, âHow am I going to repay my debt to him?
Perhaps⦠Never?â
Rosalie took two days off from work because of the car accident. The next day, the first thing she did in the morning was to go to the ward.
However, she saw Fiona instead of Horatio and Samantha in the ward.
âRosalie, youâre here. I heard that you and Calvin had an accident yesterday. It really scared me. Are you okay?â Fiona looked worried, but inside, she felt it was a shame that Rosalie hadnât died in the car accident.
Fiona only knew it was a car accident, but she didnât know that Calvin was trying to save Rosalie.
Rosalie ignored Fiona and walked over to the bed. She looked at Calvin, his body and head wrapped in bandages. âYesterday⦠Thank you,â she said in a hoarse voice.
She hadnât slept much that night because every time she closed her eyes, the scenes of the car accident replayed in her mind,
