Chapter 665
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âThe current situation is manageable, but we need to administer some progesterone shots. You need to have one every day for a week, and then we will reassess. These shots will be given in the abdominal area, so the pain sensation will be more pronounced compared to shots in the arm or buttocks.â The doctor warned her, âYou need to be mentally prepared.â
âSure,â Rosalie readily agreed. She was willing to endure the pain as long as it meant her children could safely come into this world.
However, when the slender needle was about to penetrate Rosalieâs slightly rounded abdomen, she remained calm, but Jonathan grew anxious. He grabbed the nurseâs hand tightly and asked, âIs this needle going to be inserted like that?â
âY-Yes,â the nurse replied in a trembling voice.
âIs it safe to use such a long needle on the stomach?â Jonathan inquired.
The nurse was bewildered as she wondered, âArenât all needles supposed to be this length?â
Rosalie, on the other hand, tried to reassure Jonathan casually, âJon, the doctor and nurse wonât make a mistake. Donât worry.â
Jonathan finally released the nurseâs hand but remained tense, his entire body taut. His gaze was fixed on the needle in the nurseâs hand to the point where she felt stiff and didnât know how to proceed.
âJon, why donât you wait for me outside? If you keep staring at the nurse like this, sheâll get nervous,â
Rosalie suggested Jonathan.
âIâll stay here, but I wonât watch her administer the shot,â Jonathan said, shifting his gaze to Rosalieâs face.
Relieved, the nurse quickly administered the shot into Rosalieâs abdomen.
When the needle pierced her stomach, Rosalie furrowed her brows and involuntarily clenched her teeth.
Getting a shot in the abdomen was indeed more painful, but this level of pain was manageable for her.
After enduring three years of imprisonment, she developed a high tolerance for pain.
Once the shot was done, Jonathan immediately asked nervously, âDid it hurt a lot?â
11:2 âItâs not too bad, just a bit more painful than a regular shot,â Rosalie smiled, downplaying it. âIâll need to have this shot for a while. If you get so nervous every time, you might be hospitalized due to anxiety before our child is born.â
Jonathan lowered his head, looking at the spot on Rosalieâs abdomen where the needle had just been inserted. âIâm only nervous about you.â
âI know,â she replied softly, adjusting her clothing. âItâs just a shot, nothing to worry about. We have a class to attend shortly. Shall we?â
âSure,â Jonathan agreed.
The two of them arrived at the room where the pregnancy class was held at the hospital. It was a large conference room with a semicircular design, and in the center of the semicircle was a projection screen and a lectern. There was also an open space in front with teaching props and rows of seats arranged in a circular fashion around the lectern.
Rosalie estimated that the room could easily accommodate over a hundred people.
The hospital Jonathan had chosen was a well-known private maternity hospital in Strico.
Due to its high fees, most of the patients here came from affluent families in Strico, including some local celebrities.
As a result, when a scion from Strico came to the class with his wife and saw Jonathan already seated in the room, he felt like he had been struck by lightning.
He thought, âWhat is going on? Isnât that Mr. Youngblood? How could Mr. Youngblood be sitting in a place like this? This is a pregnancy class! Is Mr. Youngblood here to attend a class?â
The scion blinked repeatedly, trying to confirm whether what he was seeing was real or not.
âWhatâs wrong with you? Your eyes seem to be twitching,â his wife asked in confusion.
âN-Nothing at all!â the scion hurriedly replied. It was definitely an unusual situation! In this situation, no one would be calm.
He quickly led his wife to a seat in the back row and then took a close look at Jonathan. He wondered, âIt really seems like Mr. Youngblood, and he also seemed to be accompanying the woman in loose, light-colored clothing. That woman⦠Is she pregnant? Could she be Mr. Youngbloodâs 11:24 relative? She couldnât be his wife, could she? If Mr. Youngblood had really gotten married, the internet would have exploded!â
Rosalie had brought a notepad with her, intending to take notes if the teacher mentioned anything important.
Seeing her so focused on the class, Jonathan couldnât help but smile.
âIf you miss something, Iâll have someone come to our house to give you private lessons again,â
Jonathan said.
âItâs different. Having class alone at home is different from the atmosphere here,â Rosalie told him. It was a novel feeling to be with so many pregnant ladies here.
âIs that so?â Jonathan said. Although he didnât think much of the atmosphere here, if she liked it, he would accompany her to the classes in the future.
When it was time, the specialist who was going to teach the class entered the room. When she saw Jonathan in the audience, she was momentarily stunned.
While this specialist wasnât Rosalieâs attending physician, she had been involved in Rosalieâs consultation before and recognized Jonathan.
She wondered, âIs Mr. Youngblood here for my lecture? How shocking. I didnât expect that Mr.
Youngblood, a well-known figure in Strico, would accompany his wife to a class like this. Previously, rumors had it that Mr. Youngblood was uninterested in women, even when his fiancée had passed away. He had always appeared emotionless. But now, it seemed like Mr. Youngblood might have a soft spot for his wife.â
When the specialist began her lecture and mentioned some key points about pregnancy, Rosalie attentively took notes.
Some of the knowledge had been covered in pregnancy books, but there were also some practical tips based on the specialistâs experience.
After discussing important matters that pregnant women should be aware of, the specialist moved on to basic infant care topics. Then, she turned to the audience and said, âWould any expectant fathers like to demonstrate how to hold a baby? Just as I mentioned earlier, letâs see if the expectant fathers have grasped the technique.â
None of the expectant fathers in the room volunteered.
The nurse and the specialist had to encourage them, and finally, one expectant father raised his hand and stepped up to the front.
âLetâs have another expectant father, shall we? Two expectant fathers can demonstrate,â the specialist suggested.
