Chapter 687
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Amelia came to the hotel where Warren was staying and asked the receptionist, âMay I know if Mr.
Warren York is in the hotel now?â
âMr. York has gone out and is not back yet. If you want to find him, please contact him or wait here in the hotel lobby,â the receptionist replied politely.
Amelia pursed her lips. She didnât seem to have other options but to wait.
As for contacting Warren, she had already lost Warrenâs contact number, and the person she could contact now was just the lawyer of the law firm responsible for Warrenâs custody.
Amelia sat in the lobby and waited quietly.
Time passed quietly. It wasnât until it was getting dark outside that she saw Warren and Irene walking into the hotel.
The moment Warren walked into the hotel, he saw Amelia.
There were many people in the lobby of the hotel, but it seemed that he could always find her easily among the crowd.
âWhy are you here?â Warren asked as he looked at Amelia who came to him.
âI have something to ask you.â Amelia pursed her dry lips.
He sneered. âDidnât you tell me not to disturb you for three months? But, Amelia, look at what youâre doing now. Donât you think itâs ridiculous?â
His words embarrassed her as if they were a slap to her face.
Irene also mocked, âAmelia, what are you doing here looking for Warren? Youâre not trying to play hard to get by saying you want to give up custody, are you? Warren wonât fall for it!â
Irene took Warrenâs arm more intimately and added, âLetâs go, Warren!â
âOkay,â Warren said and turned to leave.
Amelia suddenly reached out her hand and stopped Warren. âCan I talk to you alone? I only need a few minutes of your time!â
Warren said coldly, âIt seems that we have nothing to talk about anymore. Since you said three months, I hope you donât disturb me as well. Besides, donât play hard to get. Iâm not interested!â
Ameliaâs body trembled, and her hand that she used to stop Warren had been pushed away by him.
Amelia looked at Warren and Irene walking towards the elevator, and her eyes darkened.
She thought, âI wonât be able to do it, will I? I didnât even have a chance to say it! Am I going to disappoint Aiden? But I donât have much time to waste. I only have six months left, and I may possibly get so weak that I can only lie in bed three 09:36 months later. I want to fulfill Aidenâs wishes and give him a good memory in my last moment!â
Amelia suddenly gritted her teeth and rushed over quickly. When Warren and Irene were about to enter the elevator, she grabbed Warren by the arm.
âHold on!â she said. Her grip on his arm was so tight that her body was trembling slightly.
Irene had already entered the elevator. Seeing this, she immediately said unhappily in the elevator, âAmelia, what are you doing? Warren, donât bother such a woman anymore!â
The elevator door began to close slowly at this moment.
âWarren!â Irene shouted. She reached out as if she wanted to press the door open button so that the elevator door wouldnât close so quickly.
Warren looked down at Ameliaâs trembling body and suddenly said to Irene, âWait for me upstairs. I will come up later.â
âWhat?â Irene was startled. Her arm stopped in midair, and she didnât even press the door open button.
She just watched the elevator door close, which also cut off the last scene that she saw.
Irene felt uneasy. The last thing she saw was that Warren was looking at Amelia with a struggling, hesitant look in his eyes.
She thought, âWhat is he struggling for? What is she hesitating about?â
She wondered if Amelia still had a place in his heart even though it had been more than four years.
Irene gritted her teeth with hatred as she thought, âWhy didnât she die already? Only after she dies can I feel at ease!â
In front of the elevator, Warren himself was surprised that Amelia could actually make him stay with her earlier plea and trembling body.
âWhat exactly do you want to say? Make it quick!â He suddenly pulled his arm away from her grip, not wanting to be affected by her again.
Amelia said, âI hope you can take some time to take Aiden to the amusement park with me recently. He hasnât been there with his parents since he was born. I want to give him some beautiful memories.â
âBeautiful memories?â Warren sneered. âAmelia, do you think it might be a beautiful memory for me to accompany him to the amusement park with you? What now? Do you really want to play hard to get using Aiden? Do you still yearn to be one part of the York family?â
She looked at him with hope, calmness, and apprehension on her face, but there was no guilt or anger at being hurt.
For her, his words could no longer hurt her. She only wanted to know whether he would accompany Aiden or not.
âCan you spend a day with Aiden?â she insisted. All the humiliation he threw at her was nothing to her.
He stared at her. Her reaction made him a little uncomfortable.
It seemed that, to her, he was just a prop to make Aiden happy. Apart from that, he was nothing.
âWhy did you ask me to accompany Aiden for a day when I naturally have plenty of time to accompany him when the time comes? Amelia, are you trying to approach me this way as youâve had a hard time in your life? What about the man youâre going to live a new life with? Did he dump you? Or was he unable to give you the life you want because you want more?â
Warren continued to say mean words to erase his discomfort.
âWhat should I do, so that youâll agree to take Aiden to the amusement park with me?â She didnât want to clear up his misunderstanding.
More precisely, there had been too many misunderstandings between her and him.
In the past, she would explain hard and want him to know the truth. But now, she was tired and didnât want to go through the trouble anymore.
In the future, he had plenty of time to accompany Aiden, but she was running out of time.
He stared at her and suddenly said, âIf you really want me to say yes, you should go to Irene, admit in front of her that it was you who hurt her back then, and apologize to her in person! You owe her an apology for four years. Itâs time to give it to her!â
