Chapter 753
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
At that moment, her body was extremely stiff. Every movement was like a robot, but she was still trying hard to do it.
She stood on tiptoe and gazed at the handsome face just inches away.
The distance between them was so close that Rosalie could see Jonathanâs eyelashes and herself reflected in his dark pupils.
With just a small step closer, she could kiss him.
That way, he would believe her.
Rosalie believed that she had truly forgiven Jonathan and would not leave him. He never knew how much she loved him and didnât want to miss him.
Jonathan was the man in the world who loved Rosalie the most. No one else would love her as much as he did.
The various truths of the past did indeed cause her unbearable pain. There was a fleeting moment when she even harbored resentment toward him. âDidnât he also suffer from the torment?â she wondered.
When they had been together, he had said multiple times that if he ever made a mistake in the future, he hoped she would forgive him.
She wondered, âCould it be that he has been constantly afraid I would know the truth one day?
I will prove it through actions if thatâs the only wayâ¦
Rosalie stood stiffly on tiptoe and drew her lips closer to his.
His breath almost covered her whole body, and his face kept getting closer, causing her body to become more rigid.
She closed her eyes and told herself, âHe will believe me as long as I kiss him.
As long as I kiss him, he wonât misunderstand anymore.
Her heartbeat kept accelerating. When her lips finally touched his, her body suddenly shivered. The next moment, she abruptly took a step back, covered her lips with one hand, and rushed to the bathroom.
âUgh⦠Ughâ¦â Rosalie hunched over the sink, vomiting.
She vomited almost everything she had eaten in the morning.
After a while, her vomiting finally stopped. She leaned weakly on the sink with both arms. Suddenly, as if realizing something, she turned and looked at Jonathan, standing at the bathroom door.
His tall frame stood silently by the door. With a pale face, his deep eyes carried a strong sense of self-
mockery and pain. âRosie, you canât do it at all. Your body canât lie.â
11:20 âNo, Iâ¦â She hurriedly tried to explain, but he interrupted her.
âYou said youâre willing to forgive me for the childrenâs sake, right? You donât want them to grow up in a broken family, so youâre willing to forgive me! I know it, but⦠if thereâs a little love in your forgiveness, how wonderful would that be?â
âItâs not because of the children that Iâm willing to forgive you. Itâs because I love you, Jon. Itâs because I love you!â Rosalie shouted and forcefully suppressed the discomfort caused by the vomiting.
âReally?â He slightly narrowed his eyebrows and lowered his gaze. âIf you really love me, then stay in the manor and donât go anywhere. We still have decades ahead of usâ¦â
Jonathan said inwardly, âIf your love for me has truly faded, I will definitely make you fall in love with me again in the next few decades!â
Jonathan said, âIâll have the caregiver come in to take care of you.â Then, he turned and walked out of the room.
Rosalie bit her lip and smiled bitterly, looking at Jonathanâs back.
He didnât believe her at all.
Jonathan walked out of the room and clenched his fist.
When Rosalie had taken the initiative to grab his arm, encircling his neck as she leaned in for a kiss, she hadnât been aware of how nervous and expectant he had been.
But⦠In the end, it was just another disappointment.
Despite her willingness to use that method to make him believe, her bodyâs reaction couldnât lie. It still rejected him, indicating that she hadnât truly forgiven him.
But at least she was willing to lie to him, using that method to comfort his heart. He should be satisfied with that.
He said to himself, âRosalie and me⦠had so much time ahead in our lives. Once we resolve our current issues, and after our children are born, I will have plenty of time to make her accept me again.â
Jonathan gave a few instructions to the caregiver and bodyguards waiting outside. Just then, Carlos rushed over and said, âMr. Youngblood, thereâs something urgent.â
Jonathanâs eyes flickered slightly. He waved to the caregiver beside him, prompting the caregiver to enter the room to take care of Rosalie quickly. Outside the room, Jonathan turned to Carlos and asked, âWhatâs the matter?â âI found Mr. Wilmer,â Carlos said.
Jonathan became tense and asked, âWhere is he now?â
âHe was found at Mr. Leonard Youngbloodâs tomb. He went to pay his respects and tried to escape after being discovered, but our men stopped him,â Carlos 11:21 explained. âHe is currently being held in a nearby house near the cemetery. Mr. Youngblood, do you want to see him?â
âOf course, I must see him. After all, he was the closest person to my grandfather,â Jonathan said coldly. Kurt had been missing for several days, and his sudden appearance was undoubtedly suspicious.
Besides, Yvetteâs escape might have something to do with Kurt.
He couldnât help but feel that the series of events seemed too coincidental.
âLetâs go.â Jonathan walked toward the stairs.
Carlos hurriedly followed.
A moment later, a black Bentley slowly drove away from the Youngblood residence.
The car arrived at a mansion near the cemetery. As Jonathan got out of the car, someone quickly stepped forward and said, âMr. Youngblood, the person is inside, but he refuses to say anything unless he sees you.â
âLead the way,â Jonathan ordered coldly.
The person immediately led the way for Jonathan. In no time, they arrived at one of the rooms.
Kurt was sitting on a chair with bruises all over his face. He had been beaten earlier.
When Jonathan walked in, a smile appeared on Kurtâs swollen face. âYou finally came. I want to askâ¦
Mr. Youngblood, why did you suddenly have me arrested? I havenât done anything wrong to you!â
âNothing wrong?â Jonathan raised his eyebrows and said, âYou were the one who sent the email to Calvin on behalf of my grandfather about the truth of the case, right?â
âThat was Mr. Leonard Youngbloodâs order,â Kurt said.
âSo, helping Yvette escape was also my grandfatherâs order?â Jonathan asked casually.
Kurt put on an innocent expression. âI donât understand what you mean, Mr. Youngblood. Yvetteâ¦
escaped? I only saw it in the news that the police detained her.â
