Chapter 754
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Jonathan narrowed his dark eyes and stared at Kurt. âReally? You didnât know she escaped from prison?â
âI donât know,â Kurt insisted.
âAll right, what is the matter you mentioned earlier that you insisted on discussing with me in person?
Why not talk about it now?â Jonathan said.
âMr. Leonard Youngblood said he wanted to make a bet with you if Rosalie found out the truth after his death, and she still stayed with you.â
âBet?â Jonathan was stunned.
âYes, bet!â Kurt replied. âMr. Leonard Youngblood wanted to make a bet with you to see if you would be like your father, willing to sacrifice everything, even your own life, for the sake of a woman.â
Jonathanâs face suddenly darkened. âWhat do you mean?â he asked. âGrandfather has gone now. How could he bet on such a thing?â he wondered.
Kurt smiled but remained silent. However, with his swollen face, the smile was somewhat unsettling.
âTell me! What does it mean?â Jonathanâs voice deepened, and his cold eyes suddenly became sharp.
âWhen the time comes, you will naturally know,â Kurt said. âMr. Leonard Youngblood hoped you remember the lesson from your father, that in the end, you will get nothing, risking everything for a woman,â he added.
âHow I handle things is none of your business!â Jonathan stepped forward and grabbed Kurt by the collar. âWhat did my grandfather tell you to do? You better tell me. Otherwise, youâll be the one in trouble.â
Kurt seemed indifferent as he replied, âI had nothing back then, and I followed Mr. Leonard Youngblood. He saved my life. Now that heâs gone, of course, I have to follow his orders. Mr.
Youngblood, Iâve said what needs to be said. I wonât reveal what shouldnât be said. When the time comes, youâll know. Youâll naturally know.â
Jonathan pursed his thin lips tightly. He naturally knew what kind of person Kurt was. He was the most loyal of the people around Leonard.
He pondered, âGrandfather⦠What exactly did you order him to do?
A bet?
Grandpa has gone, and now thereâs a bet on whether Iâd sacrifice my life for a woman. How does he plan to make this bet? However, no matter how the bet goes, that woman⦠Rosie is inevitably involved!â
âRosie?â Jonathanâs body suddenly trembled as if he had just thought of something. Without hesitation, he took out his phone and dialed Rosalieâs 11-21 6 number.
But there was no answer from the other end of the phone.
Jonathanâs expression suddenly turned extremely gloomy. Off to the side, Carlos seemed to sense something. He said anxiously, âMr. Youngbloodâ¦â
âContact the people at the manor immediately and ask them to confirm Rosalieâs current situation. Also, strengthen the security around the bedroom,â Jonathan instructed.
âYes!â Carlos quickly replied.
He hastily called the manorâs security head and began to give instructions regarding the matter.
After a while, Carlosâs face suddenly turned pale. He panicked and hurriedly said to Jonathan, âMr.
Youngblood, somethingâs wrong. Mrs. Youngblood is missing!â
âWhat?â Jonathan suddenly snatched the phone from Carlosâs hand, sternly questioning the person on the other end, âWhatâs going on? Where is Rosalie? Sheâs not in the manor?â
There was a panicked and stuttering voice on the other end of the phone, âWe⦠went to Mrs.
Youngbloodâs room. Renee and the caregiver are unconscious in there, and there is no sign of Mrs.
Youngblood. There are no surveillance cameras in the bedroom, but the outside one shows that Mrs.
Youngblood has never left the bedroom. Also, in the room⦠thereâs still some undispersed sedative.â
âSearch! Turn the whole manor upside down and find her!â Jonathan ordered. He threw the phone back to Carlos and stared at Kurt as if he was going to kill someone. He grabbed Kurtâs hair with one hand and pushed him against the wall. âTell me, where did you take Rosalie? If anything happens to her, Iâll take your life!â With a thud, Kurtâs head hit the wall heavily.
However, Kurt started to laugh instead. âEven if you kill me, I wonât tell you. When the time comes, you will naturally know!â
âSay it!â Jonathan ruthlessly slammed Kurtâs head against the wall. At that moment, all he could think about was Rosalie.
Carlos fearfully looked at Jonathan, whose face was clearly filled with a strong sense of hostility right now. For Jonathan, Rosalie was untouchable.
Kurt would have to die here if things continued like that.
As Carlos thought about it, he hurriedly said to Jonathan, âMr. Youngblood, why donât you take Mr.
Wilmer back to the Youngblood residence first? He must know something. If you really make him⦠um, if he ends up in the hospital, we might not get any information from him.â
Carlos tried to be gentle.
His words finally calmed Jonathan a little.
âTake Kurt back to the Youngblood residence!â With that, Jonathan left Kurt 11-21 behind and hurriedly walked outside.
Carlos quickly asked two bodyguards to lift Kurt and followed behind.
Back at the Youngblood residence, Jonathan rushed directly to the bedroom. Trained hounds were barking at the underside of the bed.
âMove the bed away!â Jonathan ordered.
When the bed was lifted, everyone suddenly saw the entrance to a secret passage. Jonathanâs face turned pale in an instant. There was such a secret passage in the bedroom, and he⦠didnât know about it at all.
He thought in shock, âWhat the hell is this? When did it appear?â
The security guards were already investigating the entrance of the secret passage. After Kurt was brought into the room, a satisfied smile appeared on his face. Everything was going smoothly.
Jonathan suddenly grabbed Kurt by the collar and said, âYou knew about this secret passage a long time ago, didnât you?â
âYes. Mr. Leonard Youngblood told me about it. He had people build this manor, and he had the most detailed construction drawings, including this secret passage, which was also built under his order!â
Kurt explained.
Even if Kurt didnât say the rest of the words, Jonathan could guess what he was going to say.
He pondered, âKurt deliberately showed himself to lure me out. Once Iâd left the manor, the other person would use this secret passage and take Rosalie away.
Grandfather probably had conceived such a plan before his death and then gave the order to Kurt for the execution.â
