Chapter 810
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
The little girl hummed in response, saying, âIt doesnât hurt anymore. You can stop hitting Zeki.â The little boy fell silent once more, just as he had initially, with his hand still firmly holding onto the little girlâs hand.
Jeanette hurried over and raised her voice. âDid you get into a fight again? Oh, my goodness! Why did you beat him up like that? What have we done to raise a child like you?â When she witnessed the scene before her, she immediately scolded the boy even more sternly.
She could not believe that something like that had occurred during her brief absence.
Meanwhile, the plump boy was still complaining about how the little boy had injured several other children.
Having to contend with numerous adults and confront accusations from others, the little girl simply clung tightly to the boy and repeated, âZeki, donât be scared. Iâm here to protect you. We donât have to be afraid of them!â
Rosalie could not help but sympathize with them. When she was about to speak, Jonathan walked up to her anxiously with the two children. âRosie, Iâm afraid we have to go. We found Kurt.â
âWhat?â Rosalie was taken aback. âKurt? You found him?â
âYeah, we found him. Carlos told me that Kurt is still in Strico!â Jonathan said.
Upon hearing Kurtâs name, Rosalie almost staggered unsteadily. She wondered if they would be able to locate the whereabouts of the other child since they had found Kurt.
Rosalie suddenly grabbed Jonathanâs wrist. âT-Take me with you!â
âOkay. Iâll bring you along,â Jonathan responded. He then turned to the two children and said, âDaddy and Mommy are going to be quite busy today. Weâll take you to the amusement park next time.â
Guillermo nodded in understanding, displaying his sensible nature. Even Jennifer did not insist on staying at the amusement park. Though she was âstill a child, she could sense that Rosalie was about to meet an important person.
When they got in the car, Jennifer asked, âMommy, is the man named âKurtâ an important person?â
10:24 âYes, heâs an important man.â Rosalieâs hand trembled when she answered her daughter.
If it were not for Kurt, she and Jonathan could have enjoyed a blissful life. They might have had three children together instead of two, and Rosalie would not have lost her memory and been separated from Jonathan for five years.
All those miseries were the consequences of Kurtâs actions!
Nonetheless, she could not quite comprehend something that Carlos had mentioned. If Kurt had been determined to execute his grandfatherâs order to have her killed before Jonathan so that the latter would give up on her, how did she manage to survive the ordeal?
Furthermore, she also wondered why Kurt had handed Guillermo to the Youngblood family and left Jennifer with her.
The only way to find answers to that was to ask Kurt in person.
âMommy, youâre shaking. Are you cold?â Jennifer asked all of a sudden. âNo, Iâm not. Iâm just too agitated,â Rosalie replied. She would have been more depressed if it were not for the children around her.
After sending the two children back to the Youngblood residence, Rosalie and Jonathan went to look for Kurt.
The location where Kurt was discovered was an ordinary rental unit. Jonathanâs men were already guarding the house, and Carlos was waiting outside. When the latter spotted Jonathan and Rosalie, he approached and said, âMr. Youngblood, heâs in the room. We tried asking him about the childâs whereabouts, but he wouldnât talk about it.â
Jonathan pursed his thin lips, and Rosalieâs hand shook again.
Suddenly, Jonathan reached out and held Rosalieâs hand. âAnyway, since weâve found Kurt, Iâm sure weâll soon find out where the child is.â
Even if the child had passed away, Jonathan was determined to find out. their final resting place!
âOkay.â Rosalieâs voice sounded choked up.
At that moment, there were several other bodyguards guarding a middle-aged man when they entered the room.
It took Rosalie a while to recognize that the middle-aged man was Kurt. Five years had passed, and Kurt appeared drastically different from what she remembered. While his face lacked many wrinkles, his hair had.
already turned gray. He sported a beard, wore glasses, and dressed in ordinary casual clothes. His appearance made him seem like nothing more than an ordinary man.
If Kurt were to have walked past Rosalie on the streets, she would not have recognized him.
Kurt was a bit surprised to see Rosalie, but he quickly flashed a smirk and asked, âYouâve returned to the Youngblood family, huh?â
Rosalie took a deep breath and replied, âYes, Iâm back.â After five years of being away, she finally returned to the Youngblood family and reunited with Jonathan.
âWait outside,â Jonathan said to the men in the room.
His subordinates nodded in response and left the room.
âWhereâs the child?â Jonathan asked indifferently.
âChild? Iâve given you the babies, havenât I? I handed one over to the Youngblood family and left the other to your wife,â Kurt replied.
âYou know which child Iâm referring to!â Jonathanâs voice grew colder. âThey were supposed to be triplets. What about the third child?â
âYou expect all three babies to pull through? You should be glad that two of the three children survived, Mr. Youngblood.â Kurt mocked.
Rosalie staggered when she heard about the third child. âIs that kid still alive?â She gazed at Kurt with bloodshot eyes.
Even though the answer might not be what she had expected to hear, as a mother, she felt the need to know what had happened to the missing child.
However, Kurt gave her the cold shoulder. Instead, he simply stared at Jonathan and asked, âFive years have passed, and yet you still want to be with this woman?â
Jonathan, in an aloof manner, replied, âSheâs my wife and the mother to my children. Of course, Iâll want to be with her.â
âDo you love her?â Kurt continued asking.
âWho are you to question me? And why should I answer you?â Jonathan retorted. âI can let you off if you tell me the childâs whereabouts. Otherwise, Iâll make sure you spend the rest of your life behind bars.â
Not showing any fear about his future, Kurt declared, âYouâre the head of the Youngblood family, so you shouldnât fall in love with anyone. Falling in love with someone means that youâre exposing your weaknesses to your enemy. Mr. Leonard Youngblood was afraid that such weakness would hinder you in the future, potentially leading to the downfall of the family.â
Jonathan stepped forward, extended his hand, and grabbed Kurtâs collar. He sneered. âI can still lead the Youngblood family to its downfall if I want to, even if you have eliminated my so-called weakness.
My grandfather has been gone for many years. Why are you still following his directives?â
