Chapter 880
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
Only then did Giuseppe snap back to his senses. He hurriedly snagged the syringe he had prepared in advance.
Seemingly out of instinct, Jonathan repeatedly slammed his fists on Rosalieâs back, trying to break free from her tight embrace.
He punched her time and again as though trying to break every single bone in her body.
However, Rosalie couldnât let go of him then. If she did, he would only be in more danger. The longer he took to calm down, the greater the risk to him.
âMrs. Youngblood⦠Iâll restrain Mr. Youngblood instead,â Carlos suggested. As Jonathanâs fists fell on Rosalie, even he felt a phantom pain despite being a man. âNo, itâs okay⦠Just⦠Just help me hold Jon down so Dr. Giuseppe can administer the sedative. Iâm fine,â Rosalie insisted, but her face paled all the more.
Bam!
When another punch landed on her heavily, a burst of something coppery filled her mouth. In the next moment, a mouthful of blood spurted out of her mouth. âMrs. Youngblood!â Terror struck Carlos.
âJon⦠Donât be afraid. Iâm here by your side. After the doctor gives you a sedative, you wonât be in so much pain anymore,â Rosalie said intermittently. At that moment, she disregarded the pain racking her body. All she cared about was the number of injuries he suffered.
Her vision began to blur, and even her consciousness started fading.
Yet, she couldnât let go of him, having to wait until he no longer hurt and had calmed down.
Rosalie looked up groggily, trying her best to make out the man she was hugging. His eyes were still closed, and he was seemingly still lost in the pain of his headache. His teeth clamped onto his lower lip tightly, and blood flowed even more severely.
âDonât⦠Donât bite your lips hard like this a Do you know how distressed I am to see you bleed like this?â she uttered soundlessly.
Aloud, she continued murmuring, âI⦠Iâll stay by your side. Donât⦠think about those memories again.
No matter what the past was, I will stay with you⦠Jon⦠I will keep you company⦠until the world fades away.â
Rosalie brought her lips close to his, wishing he would not bite his lips like that and that the bleeding would stop.
Her lips captured his.
Their blood blended together.
10.03 âJon⦠Jon⦠I will stay with you⦠until the world fades away,â echoed in Jonathanâs mind.
He wondered, âWho is talking? And whoâs saying sheâll stay with me until the world fades away?â
The voice seemingly pulled him back from the pain bit by bit, making it gradually fade away.
Jonathanâs violent movements slowly stopped. His closed eyes finally opened bit by bit.
When the pale face entered his line of sight, he was stunned. It was as though everything around him ceased to exist, and she was the only person left in the entire world.
Rosalie panted heavily, and there was a trace of bright red blood at the corner of her lips. âDonât be afraid, Jon.â
âDonât be afraid? But does she know how terrified I am to see her in such a condition right now?â
Jonathan exclaimed inwardly.
âRosie!â Jonathan cried out hoarsely.
At long last, Rosalieâs eyes closed in exhaustion. A strong sense of fatigue swept over her. But even though she had passed out, her hands still held Jonathan tightly without letting go.
Carlos was stunned for a moment. âMr. Youngblood, are you⦠are you lucid now? Your head⦠doesnât hurt anymore?â
âIt doesnât hurt anymore.â Jonathan carried Rosalie in his arms, carefully removing her hands from around him. âIâm very lucid now!â
Just then, Giuseppe stepped forward and said, âMr. Youngblood, although you are lucid now, and your head is not hurting anymore, itâs best for you to take a sedative and rest well to be safe. Although your hypnosis this time failed, the next timeâ¦â
âI donât need another hypnosis,â Jonathanâs remark surprised both Giuseppe and Carlos.
âW-What do you mean by that, Mr. Youngblood? Are you not planning to regain your memory anymore?â Carlos asked in surprise.
Jonathan stared intently at the woman in his arms. âNo. Thereâs no longer any need.â Internally, he added, âBecause I remember now.â
Unfortunately, the memory he had regained was agonizingly painful to him. Two hours later, a smirk showed on the face of Kurt, who was in prison, as he looked at the note in his hand. He murmured, âIf you were still alive, Mr. Leonard Youngblood, would you want Mr. Youngblood and Rosalie to be together or separated forever? If Mr. Youngblood really regained his memories, things would be truly interesting.â
10.03 Meanwhile, Rosalie felt as though she had slept for a long time. In her dreams, someone kept calling her name in her ear. âRosie⦠Rosie⦠Rosieâ¦â
She thought to herself, âThatâs Jon calling me! Oh yes, Jon! How is he now? Is he okay?â
Rosalieâs eyes abruptly popped open. She was greeted by bright yellow light and a familiar voice.
âYouâre finally awake, Rosie!â
In the next moment, a familiar face entered her line of sight.
âWhere am I, Jon?â Rosalie subconsciously wanted to sit up. But as soon as she moved, even her bones seemingly hurt. She sucked in a breath in pain.
âDonât get up. Just lie down,â Jonathan hurriedly urged. âYouâre in the hospital. You were injured previously, so you needed some tests done besides resting for a few days.â
âInjured?â Rosalie mused. Only then did she recall the events that transpired earlier. âWhat about you?
Are you okay? Does your head still hurt?â
âIt doesnât hurt anymore,â answered Jonathan.
âDonât use this method to restore your memory again next time, Jon. I was really scared to death when I saw you in such a state. Do you know how afraid I was that something would happen to you?â Rosalie pleaded in fear.
âSo, youâd rather get hurt yourself than the other way round, right?â While Jonathan said that, he held Rosalieâs hands up. By then, her hands had already been doctored. Nonetheless, they were still red and swollen. Her hands werenât pretty in the first place, but they were even more frightful then.
âHow are⦠my hands?â Rosalie asked.
âBecause you were unconscious, the doctor could only conduct a preliminary examination and take an X-ray. The bones arenât injured, but for the nerves in your hand, further examination is needed,â
Jonathan replied.
âThereâs no need for further examination. Itâs just a minor injury,â Rosalie said nonchalantly, afraid that he would learn of the true condition of her hands upon further examination, which would only intensify his guilt at that time.
âIn the future, you are not allowed to do that again. Carlos said you hugged me with all your strength back then and even vomited blood!â Jonathan thought, âFortunately, she was found to be fine after she was admitted to the hospital and underwent an examination. Otherwise, I would never forgive myself.â
