Chapter 913
The Ceo’s Convict Wife
âAll right, Iâll take you to see your mommy,â Rosalie said.
âLet me take him,â Jonathan, who was at the side, chimed in. âThe doctor has said that you should stay home these days. Your hand canât risk being injured anymore, or else it will be difficult to heal.â
Rosalie thought for a while, then nodded. âOkay, then. You can take Felix there.â
Jonathan arranged for Felix to see Yvette at two in the afternoon.
In the back seat of the Bentley, Felix sat silently beside Jonathan like a quiet doll.
Jonathan had to admit that he admired Felixâs frame of mind. It was quite a miracle that a person like Yvette actually had a tough son.
He thought, âFelix is only five years old now. Despite finding out that his biological mother Yvette has taken her life and died, heâs still able to go see her body so calmly. This frame of mind is one that even many adults in the same situation might not have.
If Felix isnât inherently indifferent, then⦠he must know how to restrain his emotions and has a shrewdness that far surpasses his age.
I wonder which is it that Felix falls under.â
For a moment, Jonathan was kind of curious about Felixâs father. Felix looked relatively attractive, but he did not resemble Yvette much, which meant he must resemble his father more.
Previously, when Jonathan had people look up Yvetteâs information over the years, he didnât find out who exactly Felixâs father was.
As Yvetteâs body had already been autopsied, it was temporarily stored at the mortuary.
Jonathan asked the mortuary staff to take Felix to see Yvetteâs body, whereas he went to another room.
The head of the mortuary had already been waiting there for a long time when Jonathan arrived at that room. The moment the head saw Jonathan, he lowered his head and said, âMr. Youngblood, take a seat. Everything has been arranged according to your instructions.â
âMm,â hummed Jonathan flatly.
Right in front of his seat was a large electronic screen with several split-screen images that all pictured the same room. In the room was an ice coffin, and it went without saying that Yvette was lying in it.
Shortly after, two figures walked into the room.
One of them was the mortuary staff member, while the other was Felix.
The staff seemed to have said something to Felix, and then Felix walked to the ice coffin and silently looked at Yvette lying inside.
At this moment, no one knew what exactly Felix was thinking.
Jonathan stared at the screen thoughtfully, seemingly analyzing something.
For 30 whole minutes, Felix simply gazed at Yvette without dropping a tear or saying a word to the deceased. Once half an hour passed, Felix turned around and said to the staff who brought him here, âSir, Iâm done here.â
As such, the staff took Felix out of the room.
Jonathan stood up and said to the head of the mortuary, âTell the Hamilton family to come collect the body.â
âYes, sir,â responded the mortuary head hurriedly.
Jonathan then returned to the car, and after a while, Felix alsó came over.
The vehicle slowly drove away from the mortuary.
On the way, Jonathan spoke up leisurely. âYou should have seen what you needed to see now. Iâm not interested in knowing what your current thoughts are, but keep this in mind-behave while youâre staying in the Youngblood residence, and donât try anything funny, let alone hurt Jen or Guille!â
Even though the other party was only a five-year-old child, Jonathan still made his point clear mercilessly.
09:36 D Felix looked up at Jonathan. âThen, when will you send me away, Mr. Youngblood?â
Jonathan raised an eyebrow slightly, looking quite surprised at Felixâs insight. Indeed, from the beginning, Jonathan had never intended to let Felix stay in the Youngblood residence permanently.
âOnce Jen gets sick of you, youâll naturally be made to leave. But before she does, youâd better stay with her obediently, understood? If sheâs happy, I will, of course, arrange a better place for you when you leave our house in the future.â
Felixâs small hands unconsciously clenched, and there was a layer of cold sweat on his forehead.
Although Felix looked fairly composed right now, he was ultimately young, so people could still see through his nervousness with one glance.
âIâm just⦠Jenâs toy, right?â Felix queried in a childish voice.
Jonathan smiled. âFelix, you are very smart. Youâre right. In my eyes, you are purely Jenâs toy. As long as donât make trouble, I naturally wonât treat you badly when Jen gets bored of you next time.â
you All Felix could feel was his body freezing up. Being stared at by Jonathan like this made Felix feel a sense of fear.
It was just like that night when Felix pretended to sleep and listened to the conversation between Jonathan and Jennifer. Jonathan had also said in such a laidback voice that he could cut off Felixâs hands so that there was no need for handcuffs.
He thought, âMr. Youngblood⦠is a terrifying person!
Even though heâs smiling at me now, he is so scary!â
âOkayâ¦â was the only word that came out of Felixâs mouth.
He thought, âToy! Iâm just a toy!
Mommy once said that in this world, only power and wealth can determine everything. Without them, we can only pathetically let others dictate our destiny!
Then, what about me? I donât have the power and wealth that Mommy mentioned, so I can only be a toy? And just because Mr. Youngblood has power and wealth, he can decide everything so easily?â
Today, while Felix stared at Yvette lying in the ice coffin, Felix suddenly realized that he was now all alone in this world and that he wouldnât have a mother ever again.
On this cold night, Felix hid in the quilt that should have been warm, but he didnât feel any warmth at all.
Contrarily, he felt even colder.
In truth, Yvette was generally not very kind to Felix and even often pinched his face, telling him if she had known that raising a child was so exhausting, she wouldâve never given birth to him back then, for it was simply making her suffer. Regardless, Felix still wanted Yvette to live.
Because if that were the case, Felix would not be alone anymore.
At this moment, Jenniferâs small hand reached under Felixâs quilt out of the blue, startling him. Felix immediately pulled the quilt back to stretch his head out, only to meet Jenniferâs bright eyes.
âEh? Why are you crying, Felix?â Jennifer looked at Felixâs exposed head in shock. His attractive eyes were presently red and even wet.
Jennifer had never once seen Felix cry. Even when he was chased and scolded by the children of those housekeepers of the manor, he didnât shed a tear.
