“I… I’m not crying,” Felix replied, turning his head away a little awkwardly.

“Your eyes are clearly so red.” Jennifer moved in the direction of where Felix’s face turned to, then directly reached out toward his eyes with one hand and ran a finger under his eye.

In an instant, there was a touch of moisture on Jennifer’s small finger.

Jennifer’s movement was so abrupt that Felix couldn’t guard against it at all.

Jennifer blinked and took out two pieces of chocolate from her pocket. “This chocolate is delicious.

Every time I eat it, I won’t be sad anymore. Here, have one!”

Felix looked at the chocolates in Jennifer’s hand with slight confusion, musing, “Did Jen come to my room this late at night just to give me chocolate?”

Since Rosalie came back, Rosalie had ordered the housekeepers to arrange an independent bedroom for Felix, so recently, he had been sleeping alone in his new bedroom.

“I know you must be very sad.” Jennifer peeled off the chocolate wrapper as she spoke and brought the chocolate to Felix’s mouth. “Open up!”

Jennifer even made a demonstration of widening her mouth to signal Felix to eat it.

Still, his tiny mouth was pursed tightly.

“Try it! It’s delicious!” Jennifer urged, seemingly confused as to why Felix wasn’t complying.

Felix continued to compress his lips while Jennifer maintained the posture of holding out the chocolate.

For a while, the two seemed to be in a stalemate.

A long time later, Felix suddenly asked, “Why are you giving me chocolate? What does it matter whether I’m sad or not?”

“Well, we’re friends! You’re my very, very important friend, Felix!” answered Jennifer unhesitatingly.

Felix bit his lip and thought, ‘Friends? We are not friends at all, nor will we ever be friends! I’m merely a toy that pleases her now!

If Jen’s unhappy, I will likely be punished by Mr. Youngblood!’ Recalling those warnings from Jonathan, Felix couldn’t help trembling again “Felix, don’t you like chocolate?” Jennifer frowned, looking at a loss.

After hesitating for a bit, Felix ultimately opened his mouth and ate that piece of chocolate in Jennifer’s hand.

In an instant, the sweet taste spread in Felix’s mouth, but he didn’t feel any better.

“I’m merely a toy, so I can’t make Jen unhappy. If she’s unhappy, I will suffer!” Felix reflected.

Felix lowered his head and chewed the chocolate in silence. All of a sudden, a sob sounded in his ears.

He raised his head rather perplexedly, only to see that Jennifer was now crying her eyes out.

This stunned Felix, for he couldn’t understand why Jennifer would cry after he had already eaten the chocolate she ordered.

09:36 Felix swallowed the chocolate, then asked, “Why… are you crying, Jen?”

“Because… Because you’ve lost your mommy, Felix,” Jennifer wept. “You must be… must be very sad, but… but the chocolate I brought didn’t make you happy… What on Earth should I do to make you happy? Boohoo…”

Felix was quite taken aback, thinking, “Jen… wants to make me happy so badly?”

“It’s not like it matters… whether I’m happy or not. Anyway, I’m alone from now on,” Felix murmured.

Felix felt utterly strange. He was clearly the one who should be sorrowful right now, yet Jennifer was the one turning on the waterworks.

Nevertheless, somehow, the way Jennifer hugged Felix and cried made him feel warmer than when he was alone in the quilt earlier.

Thus, as if it was contagious, Felix couldn’t resist crying either.

The tears Felix had been suppressing before finally rolled down his cheeks because of Jennifer’s cries.

Just like this, Felix and Jennifer held each other and sobbed together.

Despite Jennifer’s face being full of tears and snot, she raised the chocolate in her hand and said to Felix, “Chocolate! I… I still have a piece here. Eat it, Felix!”

Felix looked at the chocolate in Jennifer’s hand. On the wrapper were some of her tears.

Felix took it, and when his fingertips touched the tears on the wrapper, he felt like he had been scalded.

Peeling off the wrapper, Felix divided the chocolate into two halves and brought one to Jennifer’s lips.

Jennifer blinked her tearful eyes. “Felix, this… this is for you!”

“We’ll share it,” Felix insisted.

Therefore, Jennifer opened her mouth and ate half of the chocolate while Felix put the other half into his mouth.

It was obviously the same chocolate as the one before, but this time, Felix found it so sweet and delicious. Felix took out his handkerchief and gently wiped the tears and snot on Jennifer’s face. “Don’t cry like this in the future.”

Although Jennifer’s crying so hard for him made Felix feel warm as if he was not alone in this world and there was still someone who cared about him, Jennifer’s tears actually made Felix feel distressed. Felix still preferred to see Rosalie’s smile.

“Okay. If you don’t cry anymore, I won’t cry either!” Jennifer answered. “Felix, we have to be together forever, okay?”

Felix’s eyelashes trembled mildly. ‘Forever?

But I might leave here at any time. As long as Jen no longer likes being with me as much anymore, Mr.

Youngblood will make me leave the Youngblood residence.

So, we can’t be together forever…
